Amendment To TGC-117 Notification

29
tgc 117 amendement

Indian army has done some changes in TGC-117 notification related to Computer science branch, though the change is not big and there is just few changes in the name terminology between different computer science branch.

There is nothing new for branches excluded from TGC-117, but Indian army is clearing some confusion between computer science and computer technology, in short it is treating both engineering branches as same and eligible for TGC-117.

25 Most Common Words in WAT

37
Word association test is one to the four tests conducted in psychological test in ssb interview. What matters in WAT is your speed of writing and thinking. WAT is a series of words, shown to candidates one by one, each word will remain on the screen for 15 secs and in this duration candidates have to think and write the sentence came in their mind.

One must be fast enough to attempt all 60 words in WAT, though it won’t cause any problem in your final performance if you miss out few words, but what matters is the quality of your responses. WAT is difficult because it gives you very less time to think or think good enough, in other words, you have very less time to manipulate your thoughts to write the best response. So, if you want to score well in WAT, only thing you can do is start practicing different WAT words.

25 Most Common Words Comes in WAT:

  1. Dark
  2. Beat
  3. Alone
  4. Organize
  5. Heat
  6. Ability
  7. Beware
  8. Bolt

Angad’s SSB Interview Experience In 1 AFSB Dehradun

15
1 afsb dehradun NDA candidates

I was having a different feeling as there was just 1 week left for the ssb interview, this was my 5th time, earlier I got conference out 4 times, and this time I made each and every possible step to live up to the level of expectations of the Interview.

My interview was scheduled on 10 Sep in 1 AFSB, Dehradun. We had to report at 7 in the morning, I reached there and found a medium crowd of the candidates. Then we were taken to the selection centre. Total of 102 candidates reported there. I was familiar with this amount of crowd (it is still very less as compared to TGC entry). We were given chest numbers and mine was 99 (just like Sachin Tendulkar) then we were sent for the OIR and the PPDT.  I had a good group discussion and narrated the story well.

When the results were out, 61 were selected and I was the last chap to be given the chest no, yes my chest no. was 61, after that we were suddenly sent for the psychology tests, in my words, if you do well in psychology you have an upper hand. My psychological test, this time went awesome and was able to do 42 SRTs, earlier I attempted all 60 SRTs, but this time it was limited to 42, after that we were given PIQ forms.  We filled it at night and gave it to the DSO [ Duty Selection Officer].
NDA SSB Candidates

Next day we had our GTO tasks. My group was good, so the GD, GPE went good.  Also PGT, HGT were good too. We were able to do all 4 tasks in just 20 minutes, HGT was easy too.

Then COMMAND TASK, I got the difficult task in the group and he made it more difficult by minimising the sources I had, but I did it.
Lecturette was good too and I knew that GTO has passed me and the day was over. I was left with my interview and that occurred on the 3 day of ssb, it was not good.

I was interviewed by the Deputy President and he was not satisfied with my effort and pressured me a lot. My first question was regarding my all last attempts , why was I not able to clear, what have I done now, ranging to college friends, teachers , parents and lot of knowledge of ARMY( still I don’t know why he asked me about ARMY) but at last he was grilling me around GK and technical questions. At last I knew I didn’t perform well in my interview, but the show must go on.

During these days I was familiar with all the 60 candidates as I was the biggest repeater and I have no problems making friends and also guided all the fresher about the ssb interview procedure. Well, all were expecting my selection and also I had a feeling that this time I might sail through the ssb.

Last night before the conference we enjoyed a lot, did a lot of pranks, played games and did full masti. Now it was the last day and the CONFERENCE, that day you will become the true follower of god. Different thoughts occur in your mind. Well I was the last candidate, so I had to wait quite a long time.

Finally when chest no 60 came out, it was my turn, there was an insane feeling in my stomach and then what happened was totally insane. I was called in the conference room after 30 minutes and I heard the voices of the officers were discussing about me. I went inside and greeted them. I was asked questions regarding the previous attempts and this attempt.

They also asked about my determination and few normal questions and it was over. I thought I have a chance, then I moved back to the hall where all the remaining 60 were sitting, when I entered all of them pounded over me as it took almost 40-45 minutes in my conference and all were sure that this time our Paaji( all called me paaji )will clear for sure.

It was the result time, and I was not selected. Total of 16 were selected and I was not among them. I was shocked for a moment and then a strange thing happened, all the 16 selected candidates rushed towards me and hugged me. One chap even started crying for me, then I consolidated him, it was really difficult for me at that time. It was a very rare moment of my life which I can’t forget in my entire life time. Then we were moved back to the station. It was my last attempt for NDA, felt like my dream was like a bubble which has been burst now.

Then I realised that you have to perform well in each and every task to get recommended. I was feeling bad, but still nothing can stop me from joining the forces because one thing that I know is that winners never quit, they keep on trying just like Capt Vikram Batra, PVC, who got selected 11 time, and I know that I have “it” in me.

I will be an armed forces officer either flying SU-30 MKI or guarding the country in PARASHUTE Regiment.
Friends keep on trying, dont stop till you achieve your AIM….

Knock Knees Problem And Treatment [SSB Interview Medical]

37
Knock knees can be one of the reasons to be unfit for Indian army or Indian defence forces. If you have knock knees then you will be declared as unfit during ssb interview medical examination. This medical condition is very rare, but few candidates may have knock knees, also, sometimes candidates misunderstands about knock knees problem and take tension unnecessarily.
Let’s discuss what is knock knees and how it affects your medical extermination in ssb interviews.

What are knock knees?

Knock knees are deformities at the knee, in which knees of a standing person touches each others but not the ankles. In other words, in a normal standing position, a person with knock knees has gap between ankles  but not between knees.

Do I have knock knees problem?

Most of the candidates are not aware of the procedure by which a medical officer check knock knees, so they just keep worrying by checking themselves in different ways. The correct way is to stand simply and keep very little gap(3 inches) between your ankles, check whether your knees are touching or no, even if it is touching a little, it is just normal. Real knock knees problem won’t let your ankles touch each other. Check the below picture for more clarity on this.

Candidates with little knock knees can start exercising and yoga to cure this problem, few of the exercise and treatments for knock knees are:
  • Take vitamin D and calcium supplements, vitamin C supplements.
  • Virasana, or hero pose, is effective in treating flat feet and knock knees.
  • Keep a block between thighs and try to move your legs as close as you can, hold it for 3 mins, keep repeating.
  • In a standing position, bring the legs 4 feet apart and stretch the arms out to the side. Turn the right toes to the right and deeply bend the right knee. Activate the arches and keep the right knee touching the wall. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat on the other side.

Ashish Jha Recommended In Meteorological AFSB

4
Myself Ashish Jha who recently got recommended from AFSB, Varanasi for 74th Course Meteorological branch. I was really unaware about the procedure and methodology of SSB but I get through. One important aspect or you may say experience after my SSB is ‘To be the fresher is the golden opportunity’ and ‘You only need to enjoy all the task’.

When I went to AFSB I prepared myself for being natural in the whole interview, to be raw for trainability, not to show attitude to any JCO’s, assessors, batch mates and make friends. The journey of my experiences of AFSB success is as follows.

1. DAY-1(Screening):

First I prepared best for verbal & non-verbal test that really helps much because this in turn improves my OIR-Officer’s Intelligence Rating. Many people consider this test unimportant but this best OIR will take to achieve good grades.

2. DAY-1(Screening):

I made simple social story for the picture I got on my screening day-hazy picture and as per my perception ‘A lady cooking food and provides it to villagers free of cost’. Friends when I went for discussion I first narrated my story in very simple way and when I undergone discussion I forget my own story and concentrate on other stories and finding out the most common theme from all the narrations. After getting enough points from other’s stories I started discussing about the common theme while rest other busy in discussing their own story, friends I think this helps me much to display my quality of co-operating the group and team building.

3. DAY-1(Psychology):

On the same day of screening after getting positive result we all screened in candidate sent for psychology package that includes-TAT(12 story = 11 pict. & 12th blank), WAT, SRT. Friends I had not skip a single WAT and SRT; I just answer my basic responses for 60 WAT and 60 SRT. In TAT I cooked all simple, short and sweet stories.

4. DAY-2(Interview):

After satisfactory completion of psychology I put through the interview which is nothing but the formal interaction with president of board. As per my understanding he (interviewer) link my every statement with my body language & confidence and they don’t need fluent English for communication they were there just to see your confidence & commitment towards this service.

5. DAY-3 & 4(GTO-I & II):

GTO-I & II which were really good and satisfactory. The most important recipe for this task is to enjoy them all with your batch mates.

6. DAY-5(Conference):

When I come to know about my recommendation it was unbelievable for me. I had been asked only one question in conference ‘How do you prepare for SSB’ my natural reply was- One of my friend guided me about this and I fulfil his dream of being recommended from SSB.
