Indian navy, that is made to neutralize all external threats, from waterways, and securing the coastal region of India. Indian navy provides various chances to candidates to join it as an officer. And the Indian naval academy acts as the base of the officer’s training in Indian navy. Indian navy that is enlisted into 10 navies in the world has made India proud many times.
The Indian naval academy is situated in Ezhimala in Kannur district In Kerala has 7 k.m of coast on the Arabian Sea. Established in 2009, the academy was renamed as INA from its previous name naval academy (NAVAC). The academy is the training base for the candidates of NDA, CDS, SSC tech and UES entries. It also provides basic training to coastal guards officers in assistant commandant’s posts. The Indian naval academy is the place where the best officer of Indian navy is built to save Indian waters.

The entries provided by Indian navy have a minute difference and the seats are less than that of army vacancies. Here we are having a short summary of ages required to apply for the Indian naval academy.
NDA- 16 ½ – 19 years – The National Defence Academy provides the vacancies to the fresh young Indians to get inducted in naval academy. In order to be eligible for applying for it, a candidate must have physics and maths subjects in 10+2. And should fall in the age range of 16 ½ – 19 years. Candidates who get merit in having to spend 3 years in NDA with the army and air force cadets and 1 years training will be given to them in the INA.

CDS – 19-24 years. Candidates having an interest in the Indian naval academy can apply for Combined Defence Service at the age ranging between 19-24 years. A candidate has to give preference to naval academy while filling the form in order to apply for it.

UES (University Entry Scheme)- Â A golden chance for engineering students has also got some vacancies for candidates. Final year students of B. Tech course are eligible for this entry has age between 19-24 years.
SSC Entry- The short service entry is an opportunity for engineering students who have passed engineering course with 60% marks for pilot entry and 55% for observer entry. The age limit for the entry is 19-24 years. But commercial pilot license holders can apply till the age of 25 i.e. 19-25 years. The initial selection is based on the cut-off measured over marks obtained by the candidate in engineering degree. And shortlisted candidates will be called for interview in SSB.
Note- The age of the candidate must fall in the range mentioned above at the time of commencement of the respective course
The Indian navy is a guardian of sea with a wide range of weapons and as the navy is expanding its tentacles, it is also increasing the scope for new comers and providing a forum for the young generation. Moreover, the decision over women’s battle role is still under the scanner and is expected to be cleared in recent future.
