1.The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.



2.Each Question Paper will have questions from the following topics:-


(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.

(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection,  Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.


(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit   & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

Yes SSB is one of the very challenging and unique interview, its stressful for someone and on the other hand few enjoys it ( probably the freshers ). Yes it unique because it judge you on different level unlike common interviews which just go with your academics and personality even without judging it properly. But this is not the case with SSB interview, we always listen from others specially from the recommended one that ” just be yourself in SSB interview ” so what is it ??

What do you mean by being yourself, its simple, perform more than your ability but without changing your “unique” way to do the things, do not hold a mask.
What is the job of SSB Board:
1. They should provide the best men in the forces, and there is no scope for error. So they are very selective and they have unique methods to find the ” right fit “.
2 Also they should select the one who can utilize his/her ability in the Organization, and do not feel that he/she is in wrong place.
“One wrong person selected for a given job can cause a host of problems in an organization. Therefore, an rganization should ensure that suitable people are recruited, even if it involves some investment. There is a difference between the selection system between the corporate / private enterprise and the Armed Forces. The selection at the entry level in the private world is done on â€˜as required basis’ and has the ‘best fit’ philosophy,meaning that the best of the lot is selected. The Armed Forces has a ‘right fit’ philosophy, wherein the Selection Centres are not aware of the vacancies and they recommend aspirants for selection, whom they find fit for the services.”
” If you are in uniform and someone says that you are not a good officer, how will you feel, it will be a very bad feeling , that’s the reason why SSB board tells you earlier that you are no meant for this organization and you may do wonders somewhere else” 
But again it gives you chances to comeback and prove yourself again !! Hardly you will get such chances in other sectors. Yes you can develop certain qualities with time which are required in a person to become an officer. Remember as I said there is no scope for error, if they find any doubt regarding you; they will not gonna select you, so do not hold a mask until unless you know how to hold it properly.
Also SSB needs a person who is good in his attitude , the way he/she act and react to the situations , someone is gentle and clever . Because you can change someone physically but its hard to change the mentality and attitude of someone in the training duration, that it the reason Psychology test hold so much of importance in SSB.
So practice hard for your SSB, don’t think much , behave in your normal way, think with a free mind , put your best effort , and you will be in sooner or later.

Indian Air Force will conduct AFCAT tentatively in the month of February. The AFCAT 2022 – 2023 online application will open on the official AFCAT CDAC platform. Flying

  • Age â€“ Flying Branch. 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jan 2023 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1999 to 01 01 Jan 2003. (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jan 2003 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification

  • A graduate candidate with minimum 60% marks and must have scored minimum 60%marks in Maths and Physics in 10+2 in 12th standard.
  • B.Tech/ B.E candidates who have scored minimum 60% marks and have scored 60% marks in maths and physics in 10+2 in 12th standard are also eligible for it.

Ground Duty Technical

  • Age â€“ 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2023 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jan 2003 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification 

  • The candidate must have B.Tech/ B.E degree in notified streams as mentioned in the official notification of the IAF with minimum 60% marks and have scored minimum 60% marks in Physics and Maths in 10+2 standard are eligible for technical entry.

Ground Duty Non-Technical

  • Age â€“ 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2023 i.e. born between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jan 2003 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification

  • Administration and Logistics – Graduation degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Accounts – B.Com Degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Education – Post graduate degree (MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International Studies / Defence Studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT /Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation) with minimum 50% marks, along with minimum 60% marks in graduation.

AFCAT 1 2022 Selection Procedure

  • Indian airforce will conduct the AFCAT online exam across the country at different test centers. AFCAT 1 2022 online exam will be tentatively conducted on Februray 2022.
  • IAF will publish the results of AFCAT 1 2022 in March 2022 and candidates will be able to check their marks, cut off marks etc on the official portal i.e. afcat.cdac.in
  • Selected candidates have to choose their AFSB interview venue and date on the same portal.
  • The screening test is the first stage of the interview, which consists of verbal, nonverbal tests and a PPDT test. The selected candidates will stay at the centres for further selection tests and those who could not qualify it, would be set free on the same day.
  • The next stage consists of a personal interview, Psychology and GTO tests, PABT (for flying only), on the last day conference will be conducted after which, the final result is announced. The selected candidates are sent for medical examination.

AFCAT Syllabus 2018 2019

Standard of AFCAT 2022 Question Paper:

  • The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University).
  • The Online examination will consist of objective type questions and will be in English only for both AFCAT and EKT

AFCAT 2022 Marking Scheme

  • Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • No marks for unattempted questions.

Questions will be based on the metric system of Weights & Measures wherever applicable. Candidates must appear for the Online AFCAT in person. Under no circumstance will any scribe or another candidate be allowed to appear/ assist in the exam. Air Force has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.

AFCAT 1 2022 Important Dates

  • AFCAT 1 2022 online registrations are open from 1st December 2021
  • AFCAT 1 2022 online exam will be conducted on February 2022

About NDA 2012 Examination

Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA), is through National Defence Academy Entrance Exam which is held twice a year, generally in the month of April and September. NDA exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). A candidate must be an unmarried male. The course of training is for three years. 


NDA- National Defence Academy

The candidate is required to give his preference for the service he wishes to join, however the final decision also depends on the rank he secures in the merit list. The candidate should first decide their preference for the two academies i.e. National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (Executive Branch) . If a candidate opts for NDA as his first choice, he has to then give his preferences for the three wings of the NDA i.e. Army, Navy, Air force, followed by his preference for Naval Academy. The question paper in English will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding of English and workman like use of words. The syllabus covers various aspects like : Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English.

The question paper on General Knowledge will broadly cover the subjects : Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events.

In addition to the interview the candidates will be put to Intelligence Tests both verbal and non-verbal, designed to assess their basic intelligence.
They will also be put to Group Tests such as group discussions, group planning, outdoor group tasks, and asked to give brief lectures on specified subjects.
All these tests are intended to judge the mental calibre of a candidate. In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only his intellectual qualities but also his social traits and interests in current affairs.

About CDSE 2012 [Combined Defence Service Examination] 2012

About CDSE 2012                                                                                           

 Purpose:

UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) twice every year for the recruitment of officers in Army, Air Force and Navy. Candidates qualifying the written test are interviewed by the Service Selection Board and if finally selected, depending upon their preference and position in the merit list, are sent to one of the following institutes for orientation training: –
(a)      Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
(b)      Naval Academy, Goa
(c)       Air Force Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad
(d)      Officers Training Academy, Chennai
Those joining the first three institutes get permanent commission, however cadets passing out of OTA get short service commission. Applicants are required to mention their preferences while filling up the application forms.

Eligibility:

Applicants for IMA, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy must be unmarried males in the age group 18-23 years, 20-23 years and 21-23 years, as on 1st July of the year of examination, respectively. Married applicants, in the age group of 17-24 years are also eligible for OTA. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is the minimum qualification for appearing in CDSE. However, applicants for Naval Academy must have physics and mathematics at the graduation level or a bachelor’s degree in engineering. In addition there are some prescribed physical standards for taking the CDS examination, details of which are available in the advertisement published by the Employment News.
Pattern:
The examination includes a written test, and those who qualify the written test are called for interview by the Service Selection Boards. The written test comprises of three papers of 2 hours duration each. The first paper is on English and second and third is on general knowledge and elementary mathematics respectively. However those seeking admission in OTA, are exempted from taking the paper on elementary mathematics. Various concessions, like reservation in posts, are available for NCC cadets appearing in the exam.
Those who qualify the written test, undergo a series of intelligence and personality tests. The tests, both verbal and non-verbal, are designed not only to judge the mental caliber of the candidate but also to assess his social traits and interest in current affairs.
The exam is notified by UPSC in leading newspapers and Employment New in the mont of May/June and November/ December and the examination is held twice in May and October. A candidate seeking admission to the examination must apply to the Secretary, UPSC, New Delhi on prescribed application form. The application forms are available on payment of Rs 20 from any of the designated post office throughout the country. The examination is held in over 40 centres spread all of the country. Names of centres and such other details about the examination are published in the Employment News.

We know that passing and surviving in screening is the major challenge for the candidates because no one wants to go back home on the same day ? Its a very bad feeling for us to return home doing nothing, so you must have seen that most of us wants to get in by hook or crook and do something “odd” which spoils the whole screening procedure, sometimes you may think that screening is just depends on the luck and nothing else.
You just need a good day and mood so that you can prepare a good story, also you need a matured group who discuss in well behaved manner and do not create a “Fish Market” as assessors use to say. Do you think it really depends on the luck whether you will be in or out?? because everybody thinks that he has done his best to survive in screening but couldn’t make it, so its all luck isn’t it?? PPDT is not just on luck, but it depends on your performance and your qualities which you have to show during screening.An assessor wants to select someone who is capable of showing his/her OLQs in rest of the 5 days too and not someone who don’t have it at all( you may have but you didn’t show during screening). What do you mean by qualities, yes qualities comes out from your story and your behavior and attitude during the discussion. So do not just sit there and thinking of some miracle will happen to make you through screening but start performing and you will definitely make it.
