Cracked AFSB Interview In My 3rd Attempt From 4 AFSB Varanasi

1

I started for my 3rd SSB interview at 4AFSB, Varanasi from my hometown Darjeeling. I had high hopes this time like every time because SSBCrack’s Materials had given me the confidence to crack Psychology tests unlike in my previous attempts where TATs, WATs, SRTs & SD were a daunting task in the limited and intense environment of SSB.

I reported on 7th Feb at 4 AFSB at 6 am and after completing the process of document verification and temperature check our batch of 165 candidates were taken for breakfast and then at the testing hall where freshers and repeaters were segregated according to Date of Birth. This being my last attempt my Chest Number was second last.

Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning Test was held followed by PPDT, Narration & G.D. I excelled in all. And smoothly got Screened In. Thanks to SSBCrack for apt materials.

I along with 61 other candidates were taken to the Boarding room. Sonu Bhaiya’s fall-in is epic at 4AFSB. We boys had a good time.

After the rest of 1hr, we were told to report to the testing hall again where our Psychology test was to be conducted. I performed to the best of my ability. We rushed to the dining hall after the intense session and relieved ourselves with a sumptuous meal. The next day our schedule was for G.T.O. I and my group of 7 candidates reported sharp at 6.30 am and went for an exciting day ahead. Being repeaters we were able to do all tasks smoothly. In fact, G.T.O  was having light moments by telling the most experienced guy in our group to do the instruction before the start of the activity. We did our G.Ds, G.P.E , 4P.G.Ts, H.G.T, Lecturette, Command Task, and I.O excellently. I was lucky to have a cooperative group. Chest No 56-62: Meerut Guy, Rohan, Brahm, Vishesh, Paaji from Shimla & Myself. Love you all guys!!! Hope to meet one day again.

Our Day 3 was scheduled for a Personal Interview and I had the best interview of my life. The President of the Board took my interview and it lasted for 1hr, I was happy that I was able to present my best side. He tried to put me under stress but I managed well. I thank god for helping me to answer all logically.

Day 4 was off day for us and I played all the games and sports available to candidates by the board. We played Snooker, Caram Boards, Hand Football(Like Joey and Chandler plays in F.R.I.E.N.D.S), Table Tennis, Chess, Volley Ball, Basket Ball and Cricket, Phew! A fun and memorable day indeed.

The next day was our Conference and all of us were holding our heartbeats. Though there were guys who were trying to act cool by making us laugh even in a serious situation. My turn came and I had to wait for 10-15 mins before my conference started and I was right away grilled for 10mins. I gave all answers logically.

oir test and ppdt

In the end, D.S.O came and announced the result after President’s motivational speech.

The moment he announced Chest No. 57 & 62 I was elated. We both hugged as we had shared the same dormitory for 5days. We stood on Podium received congratulations and continued with formalities thereafter.

This was my experience of SSB, which made me taste success after 3years of toil. I have been given T.R in Medicals and I have a 1% chance of clearing it. But the satisfaction that I have now of getting Recommended cant be quantified. I will have this as a source of joy all my life. I know I’m destined for big things in life. Will strive forward for it without looking back. Thanks, SSBCrack for sharing my story so that hundreds of Future Military Officers get a lesson from my journey. Never Stop, Follow God’s Plan!

Recommended from SSB Bengaluru in My 8th Attempt

0

Hi everyone, I am Vaibhav Malik, 26, Btech IT from MIT MEERUT recently got recommended from 17 SSB Bengaluru for SSC Tech 58, in my 8th attempt and 6th conference. I am sharing this with SSBCrack because I started the journey with the OIR and helping material from SSBCrack. Some of you might say why not AFCAT and why not INET, point I was very clear about my aim, that was ARMY. The journey was long, started after 12th but with failure of not being able to crack NDA written exam. The army is my passion and I am made for it, I realized this long back since I would be a 4th Gen person from my family starting from my great grandfather to my father who got retired in January 2020. He Is my motivation and role model, especially when he used to come to PTM in Army School in the dress. In 2014 joined engineering as I was passionate and clear about the path since engineering would help me in getting attempts and CDS too. In 2018 gave my attempt for CDS 1 and cleared it.

oir test and ppdt

Also applied for SSC Tech 52. The month of November 2018 from 10-14 at Bhopal, performed but conferenced out, came back gave CDS 2 2018 and on 22 November reported at Allahabad but on 26 same, conferenced out. That was a shock in less than 15 days of timeframe 2 CO’s, then in April 2019 Kapurthala but again conference out. Then again for SSC Tech Bangalore in October 2019 and screen out..another shock..then in 2020 due to corona everything was late. Only one ssb ..again at Allahabad…23-27 September 2020 conference out again on my birthday…A quote says that there are two important days in a man’s life once -when he is born and two- why he is born. I had both the days and the reason for the same…that day…I literally cried and wept. I was confident but unfortunately. Again, one conference in Kapurthala and one screen out from Bhopal in 2021, I Landed up in Bangalore on 7th, didn’t tell anyone that I am coming to SSB. The reporting was on 8th Feb 2022. Reached the center in the morning,186 reported and 30 of us got screened in. I was Chest number 20.

Next 4 days I just performed without the pressure of performing. I was enjoying every task with a smile. On 12th Feb 2022 after the conference, we were lined up and were asking for people who were going to Delhi, but I was just optimistic, not sure but optimistic for a positive outcome and then the result came. 4 of us got recommended. For some time I couldn’t even understand what happened and how. When we were going for further documentation I went to the washroom cried and thanked the good lord and every person who wished me luck ever in this journey. I am thankful to every person on this journey. I am not writing this or sharing this to prove that I am better.No.i am just like every other person and aspirant. All I want to say is there will be a time when people won’t believe you, your parents will doubt you, you yourself will not be able to trust, but you should gather your strength and bounce back, you should not lose hope and faith in yourself, just keep going, no matter what, work continuously and even if u have to be alone, be it. It’s always the journey that teaches you and makes you a better person. Never ever lose hope.

spot_img

Fortunately, I cleared my medicals with a TR of overweight which I am working on and hope for the merit, I will say to all of my friends that don’t give up, don’t lose hope, just keep going and keep learning, and one day you will achieve your goal.

9 Body Language Hacks For SSB Interview

0

As they say, ‘first impression is the last impression’, body language is the first impression that is noticed by the assessor during the SSB interview. Your body language shapes who you are. It is a way to say about your personality without saying anything.

Being a defence aspirant, you might have noticed that defence officers have a dexterous and unique personalities, if you want to be like that you should act like that and consider all the points given below that will help you to improve your personality and boost your confidence at SSB.

spot_img
  1. Consider you actions – Your body language might be considered even before you meet the assessor. So, act like an officer not only during the SSB but also in your life. Act like a mature person and think about your actions during SSB for sure because you never know who may be watching you. During the SSB tasks if you do any mistake admit that, do not think that no body is watching your actions. You are under observation even when you do not know, so take care of that.
  2. Consider your entrance – During your personal interview, take care of your entrance. Do not be jittery or slouched, enter with a light smile. Take some deep breaths and sit in a comfortable, upright position to convey calmness and confidence. A pleasant handshake with the assessor is suggested with normal grip but only if offered by the assessor himself. Make eye contact with him, control your hands and feet, wear a light smile to reflect your positive personality but do not over smile or laugh when it is not required.
  3. Speak eloquently – The way you communicate during SSB matters a lot and can be observed from a distance because human body do gestures and make expressions depending upon the way he communicates. Whenever you speak, always speak for the effect and to make an impact on the minds of people. Always speak clearly with articulation. Your confidence and personality should be reflected through your way of talking during the SSB.
  4. Don’t Slouch, be straight – be cool but not cold, whenever you are asked to perform an action, do not be slouch, stiff or under extreme pressure. Be cool and active as you are during your normal life. But there is a thin line between confident and overconfident, do not do anything beyond limits. Be confident carrying slight general attitude but keeping in mind the purpose of SSB. Be calm and cool like a mature person, but do not be cold. If anything is not going the way it is supposed to be or your team is not responding or any other issue is there, be confident to ask and talk to them in a suitable manner, do not overlook the situations.
  5. Posture – Walk smartly, talk smartly and stand smartly. Never stand putting your weight on single leg or so. Stand straight, your posture should be upright and active. To ensure this do practise it or do physical exercises to maintain your posture before going to SSB.
  6. Be mature outside and cheerful inside – During the SSB, you will undergo many situations that will be stressful for you. The best way during these 5 days is to be mature during the tasks, when you do something do it with your full zeal and concentration but do not put yourself under the extreme pressure and dilemma for 5 long days. Be lively and enjoy the little moments with your fellow candidates during free hours or after the completion of the tasks in a suitable way.
  7. Do not overthink – Whenever you are heading towards the testing are or even before that do not over think about that as it will add on extra stress to your mind which will be observed by the assessors through your body language easily. So, prepare for the tasks well before SSB but once your are there do not overthink about it jut think that it is a personality test thinking will do no wonders , whatever you have practised in your life and whichever qualities you have inculcated in your personality will automatically come into play once you reflect your original self without overloaded stress because we might speak and do wrong things when we are undergoing extreme stress that is created by us only through overthinking, believe in yourselves – just take a deep breath and go for it.
  8. Be ordinary yet extra – ordinary – Indian armed forces are not looking for the extra- ordinary people but they want ordinary people who can do extra- ordinary things. Do not try to do something extra – ordinary during SSB that may lead to any miss- happening. You know yourself better than anyone else, know your limits and take only calculative risks in which you know you can succeed.
  9. Keep exploring – SSB is all about the personality, how lively, cheerful and happy you are even under stressful conditions. Do not study or think about the tasks all the time. You should go explore the campus, what are the tourist attractions of the city in which your SSB centre is, what all resources are present in the centre etc during your free time. This shows your inquiring and curious behaviour, questions can be asked out of this too. It can be asked to check your observational skills.
oir test book ad

All these points mentioned above are very important as they directly impact your selection even without doing anything directly. If you will consider all these points before going to SSB you will surely make an impact not only in the eyes of the assessors but also you will leave an impact on the minds of your team mates that will again help you to show your group influencing power. If you influence your group, they will always listen to what you speak and it will be highly beneficial for you. I hope this article was helpful for you and it will surely help you to achieve what you are aspiring for.

Group Obstacle Race

This is the fourth task conducted in the GTO test series. In this task, all the groups have to compete in a race through a series of six obstacles while carrying a rolled-up tent that looks sort of like a snake. This task is also known as a snake race.

OIR Test eBook SSBCrack

A maximum of four groups take part in it at a time. The four teams are assigned one channel each. This is a high-tempo task and the candidates will be thoroughly excited before this task.

The rules which have to be followed in the group obstacle race are:

  • Once the group picks up the snake, the snake should not touch the ground before the race is complete.
  • The snake should not be folded or passed from the sides of the obstacle. It should take the same course as the candidates.
  • All candidates should be holding the snake when running from one obstacle to another and while crossing the obstacle, at least three candidates should hold the snake.
  • Even if you cross the obstacle first, wait for the others to do so and then only proceed to the other obstacle.
  • Some portions of the obstacle will be in red color, you are NOT supposed to touch them.
  • The group has to use the channels that have been assigned to them.
  • In case any rule is violated, the GTO will impose certain penalties.

The first obstacle is called the single ramp, the second one is called the figure of eight, and the third one is called the spider’s web. The fourth group obstacle is called the double wall, which is followed by the fifth one called the single wall. The last obstacle is called the giant slide. While the GTO explains the obstacle, listen carefully and start making strategies in your mind.

What Is Operation Ganga? Russian-Ukraine War

0

Operation Ganga is an ongoing operation by the Government of India to provide humanitarian services to Indian citizens. It is aimed to evacuate Indian citizens from Ukraine amidst the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. This includes assisting people who have transited into neighbouring nations like Romania, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, and Slovakia.

The Indian Air Force has been given this responsibility to evacuate from March 1, 2022. Three Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft have been pressed in service since Wednesday morning for evacuation of the stranded Indians in Ukraine amid tension with Russia.

Two IAF aircraft have taken off from Hindon airbase for Hungary and Romania, while one C-17 Globemaster took off at 4 am earlier today for Romania under ‘Operation Ganga’.

operation ganga

These aircraft are carrying tents, blankets and other humanitarian aid and will also be bringing back Indians stranded in Ukraine. Another IAF aircraft is scheduled to fly to Poland to facilitate the evacuation of stranded Indians.

oir test and ppdt

This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review the efforts to bring back Indians stranded in Ukraine and asked the Indian Air Force to join the evacuation efforts under ‘Operation Ganga’.
Sources said that leveraging the capacities of the Air Force will ensure that more people can be evacuated in a shorter time frame and it will also help to deliver humanitarian aid more efficiently.

operation ganga 2

Air India, AI Express, IndiGo, and SpiceJet will be the Indian carriers, and they will operate mainly between Burachest to Budapest. Indian Air Force C-17 Globe Master will fly out of Delhi on 2 March 2022.

Reason to start the operation Ganga

The statistics presented by the Ukrainian government show that there are around 20,000 Indian students. Hotspots for Indian students in Ukraine included the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Bogomolets National Medical University, and Kyiv Medical University of UAFM. To evacuate the Indian National, the Indian government started Operation Ganga.

operation ganga 5

Series of events

  • Before the violence, the Indian government sent advice through its embassy in Kyiv’s communication channels. It got a mixed reaction. On the morning of February 24, over 4000 Indian nationals departed Ukraine before the shutdown of airspace over the impacted areas.
  • On February 15, the Indian government issued the initial alert, which was followed by tougher advisories.
  • As it became increasingly impossible to give help to the expanding number of students, the Embassy encouraged students on February 26 not to travel to border crossings without prior coordination with the embassy.
  • On February 28, the MEA recommended all Indian citizens in Ukraine relocate to and seek refuge in western Ukrainian cities, and to go across the border only after consulting with Indian officials.

According to the reports, the first flight took place on 26 February 2022 from Bucharest in Romania and reached Delhi on 27 February at 2:55 am (IST). Till the Day 3 of the operation Ganga, on 27 February 2022, around 469 students were safely evacuated with the proper covid protocols.

To ease the evacuation process, Prime minister Narendra Modi has sent four special envoys, the cabinet ministers, to look out for the evacuation process. The ministers of civil aviation, transport, law, petroleum and natural gas.  Jyotiraditya Scindia would assist coordination from Romania and Moldova, Kiren Rijiju from Slovakia, Hardeep Singh Puri from Hungary, and General V. K. Singh from Poland.

PM Modi briefed the President of India Ram Nath Kovind on the situation on 1 March 2022.

Current situation

Ukraine

In Ukraine, educational hostels and bunkers in buildings are giving protection for people who are unable to go to evacuation locations. Students encountered difficulties withdrawing and exchanging money.

Borders

Some Indian students stated on social media that they had difficulty crossing the Ukraine-Poland border. Poland’s Ambassador to India stated that it was a humanitarian emergency, and Poland would simplify border crossings and give food and shelter to all nationalities.

Russia

The Russian passage has been sought on the eastern front of Ukraine to evacuate through Russia. Even though Russia appears to be returning to routine, some Indian students in Russia have begun to prepare for the worst. The current scenario threatens to exacerbate the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on schooling since 2020.

Routes

Ukraine Land routes to the bordering states are being used to transport the students. From the neighbouring states, the Indian Air Force is flying the Indian Nationals back to India.

Criticism

Several Indian students who have become stuck in Ukraine have questioned the Indian government’s rescue attempts. They’ve also shared a lot of films on social media to show their situation in Ukraine. Numerous Indian lawmakers and residents have also attacked the government’s actions, accusing it of failing to do enough to help the kids. They also requested that the government increase its efforts to rescue the stranded Indian students. On February 28, an anonymous Indian student stopped Gaurav Sawant, an Indian journalist, and stated that there is no support and no representative to assist them. In addition, Naveen, a student from the Indian state of Karnataka, was killed in the shelling attack in Ukraine. The opposition criticized the government and asked for speedy evacuation.

Latest Update

As per GOI, OpGanga Helpline @opgangaOfficial account of Operation Ganga – to assist in the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine has been created and are in constant touch with the concerned authorities for the safe evacuation of Indian nationals.

op ganga helpline

External affairs minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday said that six flights carrying 1,377 Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine have departed for India in the last 24 hours under ‘Operation Ganga’.

“Operation Ganga developments. Six flights have now departed for India in the last 24 hours. Includes the first flights from Poland. Carried back 1377 more Indian nationals from Ukraine,” Jaishankar tweeted.

Meanwhile, the government has deployed ‘special envoys’ to four neighbouring countries bordering Ukraine to coordinate and oversee the evacuation process of Indian nationals. Can I lie In SSB Interview ?

9
can I lie in SSB Interview

They say everything is fair in love and war, SSB interviews are also like a war for most of us, everyone wants to get recommended by hook or by crook. But, sometimes when we do not get recommended, we start recalling our performance and go into flashbacks, just to analyze whether we have lied somewhere or not.

If you have lied at any point time during SSB testing, then you might take it as a reason for not getting recommended, but if you have not lied at any point in time, then you might think that you have done a mistake by telling everything correct about you which may include some negative qualities also.

TAT ebook part 1 ssbcrack 324x324 1

But the question still remains the same, can we lie in an SSB interview? Let’s say there is something you don’t like to talk about or don’t feel comfortable about, so there is no need to talk much about that in the SSB interview, try to divert (cleverly) from such topics even if it is asked by interviewing officer. Personal interview in SSB depends on the aspirants, he/she can take it towards any direction, but it is advised to take it towards your strong points rather than talking more about something negative or sad.

OIR Test eBook SSBCrack

How to create a good impression in a personal interview?

  • Be mature and talk sense, but don’t be very serious or nervous, be joyful, and try to be funnier even though you are bored in real life, you should be happy that you are attending an SSB interview which is still a dream for many.
  • Be confident, whatever you have done in your life, have a supporting answer for that. Make sure that you support yourself in whatever you have faced in your life, take accountability for failures, and never blame someone else.
  • Talk as if you have to impress a girl sitting in front of you, show liveliness, and do not bore IO with your lies of self-boasting.
  • Listen first, even though you have got the gist of the question before IO has finished, give a pause between the question and your answer, and show that you think before you speak, it’s great quality. On the whole, it helps you to think of better answers and counter answers.
  • Try to show OLQs indirectly, everything will get noted down, so try to show as many as qualities you can put forward.
spot_img

How to get rid of difficult/unwanted questions?

  • Difficult questions don’t mean GK questions, it is something you don’t want to talk more about.
  • Though it is not correct to ignore questions directly you can ignore them indirectly or decrease the counter questions. Suppose you are not much in sports, you may feel insecure with more sports questions, then have a reason for why you are not much in sports ( as said earlier,  Be confident, whatever you have done in your life, have a supporting answer for that). Always cut a negative quality with a positive quality, and tell about something else you are good at.
  • If you will face something very personal then you may directly tell the IO that you are not comfortable talking about such personal matters. Sometimes, IO may check how long you can hold a secret, no one feels secure in discussing the very personal things related to his/her family or relatives. And it is totally fine not to share such things if you are not comfortable, if it goes with your personality then act in the same way.
oir test and ppdt

Shall I tell you something very negative about me?

  • No, never talk negative things about you, apart from some basic negative qualities, never ever say something so bad or negative about you. Try to hide such things as much as possible, again, be smart.
  • Don’t be emotional, don’t think by telling your sad story you will gain some sympathy, IO is there to judge your suitability for the armed forces, he has no feeling for you, he may laugh in front of you but he never takes rest, he keeps on writing whatever you portrait about yourself. So be clever and go with proper planning.

So, what do you think, have you ever lied in SSB interview ??
