Defence forces of India is an attractive career option which you can take after your class 12th. This is however is applicable to only boys and girls can apply only after graduation. There are mainly three entries through which you can join the forces:
- NDA: National Defence academy is the dream destination for many 18 year old guys. This academy is located in Khadakwasla, pune and is a tri service academy, where the cadets for army, navy and air force get trained together for a period of three years. On successful completion of which they get trained for their pre commissioning training in the respective academy of the arm of their choice, for a period of one year. NDA exam is conducted twice every year. The successful candidates of written exam are called for SSB. There is no minimum criteria for percentage in this.
- 10+2 Army Tech Entry: This is a chance for those who want to become both engineer and a Fauji. You can apply for this entry and make your way to Indian Army, getting a chance to do engineering from Officers Training Academy, Gaya. The mode of entry is direct, that means there is no written exam conducted. You have to apply on the basis of your 10+2 percentage. The cutoff is decided by the Army and people having percentage above that cutoff are called for SSB.
- 10+2 Navy Cadet Entry: This is the same thing as Army 10+2 Tech entry, including the same eligibility criteria and procedure of selection. In this also you are directly called for SSB on the basis of your 10+2 board exam marks.
