In a significant step towards strengthening inter-agency cooperation and national security preparedness, the Indian Army’s Dhruva Command recently conducted specialized training sessions for Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from the Jammu and Kashmir Police and personnel from the Indian Air Force’s elite GARUD Special Forces.
The training focused on the evolving threat of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and the implementation of effective countermeasures.

The training program provided an in-depth understanding of IED threats, covering the latest tactics employed by hostile entities, different types of explosives, and sophisticated triggering mechanisms. Special emphasis was placed on the detection and neutralization of IEDs, equipping participants with hands-on experience in using advanced detection equipment and deactivation techniques.
Additionally, the program reinforced coordination protocols among security forces, ensuring swift and seamless responses to IED-related threats in operational environments.
Dhruva Command, which oversees strategic operations in the Jammu and Kashmir region, has been at the forefront of counter-terrorism efforts. By facilitating joint training initiatives, it aims to enhance synergy between the armed forces and civil security agencies, ensuring a well-coordinated and effective response against emerging threats.
The training also underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration in tackling asymmetric warfare challenges.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to fostering integrated security efforts and modernizing tactical responses to evolving security challenges.
By bringing together the expertise of the Army, Police, and Air Force, the exercise reinforces India’s preparedness in mitigating IED threats and safeguarding both security personnel and civilians in sensitive operational zones.
