Lieutenant General Vineet Sharma, AVSM, VSM, Director General Dental Services (DGDS) and Colonel Commandant of the Army Dental Corps, conducted a comprehensive visit to key military dental institutions in Bengaluru from March 6 to 8, 2025. His itinerary included the Air Force Institute of Dental Sciences, the Military Dental Centre, and the Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM).

During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma lauded the exceptional patient care facilities and dental treatment services provided at these institutions. He acknowledged the dedication of the dental teams in delivering high-quality care to defense personnel and their families, reflecting the military’s commitment to health and wellness.

Lt Gen Sharma underscored the importance of preventive dental care, advocating for regular oral health surveillance to mitigate potential health issues. He also highlighted the significance of research in aerospace dentistry, encouraging advancements that address the unique challenges faced by personnel in aviation environments.

This visit aligns with Lt Gen Sharma’s ongoing efforts to enhance dental services across military establishments. Earlier in January 2025, he reviewed dental facilities at the Command Military Dental Centre in Kolkata and the Military Dental Centre in Barrackpore, emphasizing modernization and the adoption of advanced dental technologies.
