Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, AVSM, VSM, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), made history once again with her visit to the Directorate General of Dental Services in New Delhi on January 8, 2025.
The Admiral, who holds the distinction of being the first woman to serve as DGAFMS and the highest-ranking woman officer in the Indian Armed Forces, was briefed by Lt Gen Vineet Sharma, VSM, Director General Dental Services (DGDS), on various critical issues concerning the Dental Corps.
During the visit, discussions revolved around initiatives aimed at improving dental management standards for military personnel, both in combat situations and during peacetime. The briefing included updates on human resource management and procurement within the Dental Corps.
Admiral Sarin expressed her appreciation for the efficiency and high standards of professionalism demonstrated by DGDS Lt Gen Vineet Sharma and his team, which have significantly contributed to patient satisfaction within the corps.
