Army Captain Dies After Falling From Fourth-Floor Balcony in Hyderabad

Police, who have initiated an investigation, said they suspect the incident was accidental and have found no signs of foul play.

In a tragic incident, a Captain serving with the Army Medical Corps (AMC) died after accidentally falling off the balcony of his fourth-floor apartment here on January 2.

The victim, identified as Captain Shankar Raj Kumar, was in his 30s and had reportedly returned from Lucknow to celebrate the New Year with his family.

According to a police release, Captain Kumar was standing in the balcony of his residence at around 12:45 p.m. when he slipped and fell. His wife and the household help rushed outside upon hearing a loud sound and found him lying on the ground floor, gravely injured and surrounded by blood.

Neighbours immediately helped his wife transport him to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later in the evening.

Police, who have initiated an investigation, said they suspect the incident was accidental and have found no signs of foul play.
