On January 6, 2025, participants of the 48th Higher Air Command Course (HACC) visited INS Hansa, a premier naval air station, as part of their curriculum. The visit aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities and its integration with air operations.
During the visit, the course participants were briefed on the strategic role and combat capabilities of the Goa Naval Area and the contributions of Naval Aviation to national security. The group had the opportunity to witness live flying operations at the state-of-the-art Shore-Based Test Facility (SBTF), which is pivotal for carrier-based aircraft trials and training.
Additionally, the visitors toured two prominent air squadrons stationed at INS Hansa:
- INAS 316, operating the advanced P-8I maritime reconnaissance aircraft, vital for surveillance and anti-submarine warfare.
- INAS 339, a frontline squadron known for its multi-role capabilities.
The static display of  air assets gave them insight on multifaceted operational capabilities of Hansa. Momentos were exchanged between CO Hansa and Dy Comdt, HACC.
The visit offered valuable insights into the Navy’s operational preparedness, technological advancements, and the vital role of joint training and synergy between the armed forces. Such engagements reinforce the importance of collaboration in achieving operational excellence and shared objectives.
