Nagpur is set to host a significant ex-servicemen rally on December 8, 2024, which will cater to veterans from the regions of Nagpur, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gondia, and Gadhchiroli. Organizers anticipate a substantial turnout, with many ex-servicemen and their families expected to participate in this important event.

The rally will take place at the Suresh Bhat Auditorium and will feature prominent military figures, including Major General S K Vidyarthi, GOC of the UM&G Sub Area, along with other officers who will engage directly with the veterans and their families. This interaction aims to foster a stronger sense of community and support among those who have served.

Numerous stalls will be set up at the venue to address various needs and services for attendees. These will include registration for veterans on the Indian Army Portal, grievance redressal mechanisms, as well as medical and dental checkups. Representatives from the Canteen Stores Department (CSD), Zilla Sainik Welfare Office, Army Recruitment Office in Nagpur, Records, Army Placement Node (APN), and the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) will also be present to assist veterans.

A dedicated stall by JCDA Nagpur will focus on SPARSH, an initiative aimed at resolving issues related to pensions and documentation. Attendees will have the opportunity to address a variety of concerns, including medical services, ECHS-related inquiries, and other benefits pertinent to ex-servicemen.

In a statement, Group Captain Ratnakar Singh, Defence PRO Nagpur, emphasized the importance of this rally, noting that it provides an excellent platform for veterans and their families to resolve outstanding issues. Furthermore, it encourages them to interact with Army officials and share suggestions aimed at improving the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.

This event is poised to be a cornerstone for the local ex-servicemen community, reinforcing support networks while addressing pressing concerns and community needs.
