In a significant milestone for the Indian Army, 307 Agniveers from the fourth batch proudly graduated from the 14 Gorkha Training Centre (GTC) in Subathu, Himachal Pradesh. The passing-out parade, held recently, was a culmination of an intense 31-week training program designed to equip these young soldiers with essential skills in physical fitness, battle and field craft, weapons, and tactics.
The event drew an audience of over 350 spectators, which included serving personnel, ex-servicemen, and the families of the Agniveers, all there to witness the momentous occasion. Brigadier PP Singh, the commandant of the 14 GTC, reviewed the parade and delivered an inspiring address to the new soldiers. He emphasized the importance of upholding the honor of the Indian Army and encouraged the Agniveers to carry the national flag high in their future duties.
The ceremony featured an impressive display from a pipe band and showcased the physical training skills of the Agniveers, which left the attendees in awe. As members of the historically rich Gorkha battalions, specifically the 1 and 4 Gorkha Rifles, these Agniveers now step into a lineage that boasts over 200 years of military service. Their commitment to the nation, reflected in their oaths, marks the beginning of their journey as dedicated soldiers of the Indian Republic.
