In a robust display of military capabilities, the Kharga Corps of the Indian Army executed an integrated field firing exercise known as ‘Kharga Shakti’ at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges on November 24 and 25, 2024. This extensive two-day exercise was designed to rigorously test and validate the efficacy of combined arms operations within a controlled, simulated battlefield setting.
The event was overseen by Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Kharga Corps, who evaluated the exercise first-hand. Attendees witnessed a remarkable exhibition of coordinated maneuvers showcasing the integrated firing of diverse military assets. The exercise featured a collaboration of attack helicopters, artillery guns, armored and mechanized platforms, along with a variety of infantry weaponry.
Troops demonstrated their combat readiness through a series of live firing drills and tactical maneuvers complemented by air support missions. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, the forces incorporated swarm drones, loitering munition systems, quadcopters, and logistic drones, emphasizing modern warfare’s technological advancements.
Throughout the exercise, GOC Lt Gen Pushkar engaged with troops, reinforcing the Indian Army’s dedication to maintaining a high state of readiness and operational excellence. He praised the soldiers for their exceptional professionalism and abilities, expressing his confidence in the Kharga Corps as a decisive force poised for future operations on the Western Front.
