On November 7, 2024, General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), visited Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Strategic Systems Complex (SSC) in Talegaon, Maharashtra.
During his visit, General Chauhan reviewed a range of advanced, indigenously designed and developed defense systems, highlighting India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
In his address, General Chauhan emphasized the critical importance of the three pillars of Indian defense: the Armed Forces, Research & Development, and Defense Manufacturing.
He commended L&T for its unwavering dedication and significant contributions to enhancing the nation’s defense capabilities.
A notable highlight of the visit was General Chauhan flagging off advanced systems manufactured at L&T’s facilities, destined for the Indian Armed Forces and export markets.
This milestone marks a significant step in bolstering India’s defense capabilities and advancing defense exports, aligning with the national vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) and the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
