CDS 2 2024 Results Published: 8796 Candidates Clear the Examination

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results for the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) II, 2024, held on 1st September 2024. A total of 8,796 candidates have successfully cleared the exam and are now eligible to move forward in the selection process. These candidates will be interviewed by the Service Selection Board (SSB) under the Ministry of Defence, with the possibility of securing admission to prestigious defence academies.

Pathways for Successful Candidates

The CDS 2 2024 results are for admission into the following courses:

  1. Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun: 159th (DE) Course commencing in July 2025.
  2. Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala: Course commencing in July 2025.
  3. Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad: Pre-Flying Training Course [218 F(P)] commencing in July 2025.
  4. Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai:
    • 122nd SSC (Men) (NT) Course commencing in October 2025.
    • 36th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course commencing in October 2025.

Next Steps for Qualified Candidates

Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the qualified list will need to submit their original documents (proof of age, educational qualifications, NCC certificates, etc.) to the relevant branches of the Ministry of Defence. It’s important to note that these documents must be submitted by specific deadlines depending on the candidate’s first course preference:

  • IMA & INA candidates: No later than 1st July 2025.
  • AFA candidates: No later than 13th May 2025.
  • SSC candidates: No later than 1st October 2025.

Failure to submit the required documents by the specified deadlines may result in cancellation of their candidature.

Registration and SSB Interview Process

Candidates who have chosen the Indian Army (IMA/OTA) as their first choice must register themselves on the official recruitment website of the Indian Army, www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, to receive further instructions regarding the SSB interview. Those who have already registered are not required to do so again.

In case of any change in address, candidates should promptly inform the respective service headquarters (Army, Navy, or Air Force) based on their first choice.

Marks Sheet Availability

The marks sheets of the qualified candidates will be made available on the UPSC website within 15 days of the final result of the OTA course, after the SSB interviews. These will remain accessible for a period of 30 days.
