Cracked SSB Interview After Getting Conference Out 5 Times

So, if you're on the SSB journey, remember, it's all about persistence, learning from your mistakes, and never giving up on your dream. Keep working on those OLQs, focus on teamwork, and stay positive. Your success is just a matter of time. Good luck!

Hi, fellow defense aspirants! I’m Satyam Pandey, and I’d like to share my journey through the SSB (Services Selection Board). It’s been a long road, filled with ups and downs, but I finally made it to the other side.

I started preparing for the SSB during my final year as a civil engineering student. My first attempt was in April 2022, where I got “conference out.” That was followed by four more screenouts. At first, I was disheartened, but I knew I had to keep pushing. I worked on my observation skills, practiced OIR, and refined my perception of the picture-based tasks.

Since those initial setbacks, I haven’t been screened out again. But with each step forward, I encountered new challenges. It was clear that getting through the initial screening was just the beginning. The real test lay ahead. I got “conference out” another five times, but this time I was surrounded by like-minded friends. Some of them got recommended, and I learned a lot from their success.

SSB is all about those 15 Officer Like Qualities (OLQs). To succeed, you need to show the assessors that you possess them. The key is to really understand yourself and work on the areas that need improvement.

After 10 attempts, there was no turning back for me. I was determined to achieve my dream. I worked even harder on my psychological assessment by writing nearly 200 stories, and I practiced 30 Word Association Tests (WAT) and Situation Reaction Tests (SRT) every day. For the interview, I honed my Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ) and Common Interview Questions (CIQ). As for the Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, I realized that teamwork and problem-solving are crucial. Your focus should always be on finding the best solutions for your group.

Finally, on April 20, 2024, two years after my first attempt, I got recommended from the 22SSB Bhopal through the SSC (Tech) 63 entry. It was an incredible moment, a culmination of years of hard work and perseverance.

Throughout this journey, SSBCRACKOFFICIAL played a vital role. Their Instagram posts were a goldmine of information, helping me improve my OIR and general awareness.

So, if you’re on the SSB journey, remember, it’s all about persistence, learning from your mistakes, and never giving up on your dream. Keep working on those OLQs, focus on teamwork, and stay positive. Your success is just a matter of time. Good luck!
