In a significant leadership transition at the Car Nicobar Air Force Station, Group Captain Rosha has officially taken command as of June 24. He succeeds Group Captain R Dobhal, who has been commended for his tenure.
Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN), presided over the change of command ceremony, extending his congratulations to the incoming Station Commander and expressing his appreciation for the efforts of Group Captain Dobhal during his term.
The Car Nicobar Air Force Station, located on one of the Nicobar Islands in the eastern Indian Ocean, remains a strategically crucial base for the Indian Air Force (IAF). Established in the 1950s, the base has been instrumental in projecting India’s air power in the region.
Despite suffering extensive damage during the devastating 2004 tsunami, the IAF has diligently worked to restore and enhance the station’s operational capabilities, ensuring it continues to play a vital role in national security and regional military readiness.
