In a significant leadership transition within the Indian Navy, Capt Deepak Nair has officially taken command of INSVajrakosh, Karwar, from Capt Ravi Kumar Singh. The ceremonial change of command took place in a formal event held at the naval base, marking a new chapter for the strategic naval asset management unit.
Commissioned into the Indian Navy in 2001, Capt Nair brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Over the years, he has served in several key capacities including postings at the NHQ, and onboard Fleet ships affiliated with both the Western Naval Command (WNC) and the Eastern Naval Command (ENC). Additionally, Capt Nair has contributed his expertise as an instructor at the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington.
A distinguished graduate of both the Defence Services Staff College and the Army War College (AWC) in Mhow, Capt Nair’s extensive background in strategic naval operations and his academic credentials position him well to lead INSVajrakosh. His leadership is expected to bolster the base’s role in logistical and armament support for the Indian Navy’s western fleet.
The Indian Navy anticipates that under Capt Nair’s command, INS Vajrakosh will continue to excel in supporting the operational readiness and logistical requirements of the naval forces, ensuring they are well-equipped to safeguard the nation’s maritime interests.
