Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg assumed the role of Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Maintenance Command, on 1st June 2024. Commissioned into the Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) branch on 9th August 1986, Air Marshal Garg brings with him over 37 years of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force.
Trained on Jaguar Aircraft and serving as a Flight Engineer on IL-76 aircraft, he has accumulated over 2000 flight hours. His exemplary service has been recognized with the awarding of the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM).
As AOC-in-C of the Maintenance Command, Air Marshal Garg is expected to leverage his extensive experience and leadership to enhance the operational efficiency and readiness of the Indian Air Force’s maintenance units.
