Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit Visits HAL’s Accessories Division in Lucknow

In a significant move towards promoting Atma Nirbharta (self-reliance) in the defence sector, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, visited the Accessories Division of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Lucknow on May 28, 2024.

During his visit, Air Marshal Dixit was given a comprehensive tour of HAL’s Accessories Division, where he observed the indigenization efforts in manufacturing various aviation accessories. HAL executives demonstrated the production processes and technologies that have been developed domestically, emphasizing the company’s role in reducing dependency on foreign suppliers.

The Accessories Division in Lucknow has been pivotal in the indigenization of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) for several aircraft fleets. These LRUs are critical components that can be quickly replaced at the operational level, ensuring the readiness and efficiency of aircraft.

In a gathering of senior executives from HAL, Air Marshal Dixit expressed his appreciation for the company’s contributions to the indigenization of aviation accessories.

Air Marshal Dixit encouraged HAL to sustain and expand its indigenization initiatives. He pointed out that continuous innovation and development in manufacturing capabilities are essential for the long-term sustenance of the country’s mission to achieve self-reliance.
