In a significant endeavor to enhance outreach and support for veterans and Veernaris, the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) launched its flagship outreach program, ‘SAMPARK 3.0.’
The initiative was ceremoniously inaugurated by Admiral R Hari Kumar, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), at the Naval Base in Kochi on the 5th of April, 2024.
‘SAMPARK 3.0’ marks the third iteration of ECHS’s outreach program, which aims to bridge the gap between ex-servicemen and healthcare services by bringing essential medical facilities closer to their doorstep.
The program is designed to provide comprehensive healthcare services and address the specific needs of veterans and their families residing in remote and inaccessible areas.
Spanning over eight days, the ‘SAMPARK 3.0’ team comprising dedicated healthcare professionals and support staff will embark on a journey across different ECHS Polyclinics located in various regions of Kerala.
The team’s mission is to reach out to veterans and Veernaris residing in remote locations, ensuring that they have access to quality healthcare services and facilities.
During the outreach program, the ECHS team will conduct interactive sessions and health camps at each polyclinic, offering a wide range of medical services including general health check-ups, specialized consultations, diagnostic tests, and medication distribution.
Additionally, the team will provide guidance and assistance to veterans in availing ECHS benefits, registering for health cards, and accessing other welfare schemes.
The primary objective of ‘SAMPARK 3.0’ is to establish direct communication channels between ex-servicemen and the ECHS, fostering a sense of trust, camaraderie, and support within the veteran community.
By actively engaging with veterans and Veernaris at the grassroots level, the program aims to address their healthcare concerns, alleviate any apprehensions, and ensure that their medical needs are met with compassion and efficiency.
Admiral R Hari Kumar, while flagging off the ‘SAMPARK 3.0’ initiative, reiterated the Indian Navy’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and well-being of ex-servicemen and their families.
He emphasized the importance of such outreach programs in reaching out to veterans who reside in remote areas and may face challenges in accessing healthcare facilities.
The launch of ‘SAMPARK 3.0’ underscores ECHS’s relentless efforts to extend its reach and impact, particularly to underserved communities and regions with limited healthcare infrastructure.
By bringing healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of veterans, the program exemplifies ECHS’s dedication to fulfilling its mandate of providing comprehensive and accessible healthcare to ex-servicemen and their dependents.
As the ‘SAMPARK 3.0’ team sets out on its journey across Kerala, it carries with it the collective resolve and commitment of the Indian Navy, ECHS, and all stakeholders involved to serve and honor the nation’s brave veterans who have selflessly served the country. Through collaborative efforts and initiatives like ‘SAMPARK 3.0,’ the welfare and dignity of ex-servicemen continue to remain at the forefront of India’s healthcare priorities.
