The inaugural edition of the Biannual Naval Commanders’ Conference 2024 unfolded from March 5th to March 8th, 2024, serving as a pivotal platform for deliberations on critical maritime security issues at the Military-Strategic level.
The conference commenced with a momentous inaugural session onboard the esteemed aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, symbolizing the Indian Navy’s steadfast commitment to maritime prowess and strategic vision. Following this historic kick off, the conference transitioned to New Delhi, adopting a hybrid format, on March 7th and 8th, 2024, encompassing an array of multifaceted discussions and engagements.
Presiding over the inaugural session, the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh, lauded the Indian Navy’s valiant and agile response to recent incidents and developments in West Asia and the adjoining seas.
He called upon the Naval Commanders to maintain readiness for operations across the spectrum of conflict, emphasizing the pivotal leadership role entrusted to the Indian Navy in ensuring peace and prosperity in the Indian Ocean Region.
Furthermore, the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri underscored the imperative of Tri-Services Jointness and Integration, envisioning it as a cornerstone for effectively shaping and influencing the future battlespace.

In a parallel event during the conference, Naval Commanders convened for a stimulating ‘Sagar Manthan’ session on March 8th, 2024. This forum facilitated vibrant interactions with various ‘Think Tanks,’ fostering dialogue with Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), innovators, and academia.
