January 15, 2024, marked a significant event in the annals of the Indian Army’s history, as Lieutenant Aishwarya AG, a young and dynamic officer from Kodagu, led the prestigious Army Day Parade in Lucknow. At just 24, Lt Aishwarya AG showcased exceptional leadership skills as the Parade Adjutant, a role that spotlighted her remarkable journey and dedication.
Hailing from a humble background, Lt Aishwarya is the proud daughter of Ajjinanda Ganesh Aianna and Monthi Ganesh. Her journey to the prestigious position in the army is nothing short of inspirational. Prior to her military career, she was a social media specialist, a role she transitioned from to join the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. Since her commission into the 28 Army Air Defence Regiment in 2022, Lt Aishwarya has demonstrated swift progression through the army ranks, a testament to her commitment and competence.
Educationally, Lt Aishwarya’s foundation was laid at St Joseph’s Institution, followed by a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Jain University’s Center for Management Studies in Bengaluru. Her formative years included an impressive stint as an NCC cadet for five years, where she earned the prestigious C Certificate. In 2017, she further distinguished herself as the contingent commander for the All-India NCC Girls’ contingent at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.
Lt Aishwarya’s accolades are not limited to her military prowess. She is also recognized as a national-level roller hockey player, showcasing her versatility and dedication in both her professional and personal life. Her decision to join the army was heavily influenced by her experiences as an NCC cadet. In her words, “Leading the NCC contingent during the Republic Day parade in Delhi in 2017 was a pivotal experience that fueled my aspiration to become an army officer.”
