In an outstanding feat of endurance and skill, Lieutenant Commander Ujjwal Choudhary of the Indian Navy’s INS Shivaji has achieved remarkable success in the world of triathlon. The dedicated officer secured the top national ranking and an impressive 210th global ranking in the 25-29 years age group in the Ironman Triathlon All World Athlete Rankings for 2023.
This prestigious ranking system, known as the Ironman All World Athlete (AWA) program, is designed to acknowledge the exceptional performances of athletes globally.
During the year 2023, Lt Cdr Choudhary demonstrated his exceptional athletic prowess in several high-profile Ironman Triathlon events. He participated in races in Astana, Kazakhstan, the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Nice, France, and the Ironman 70.3 in Goa, showcasing his versatility and stamina across various locations and conditions.
His achievements extend beyond these events, as Lt Cdr Choudhary has also qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, which is scheduled to take place in December 2024 in Taupo, New Zealand. Additionally, his athletic accomplishments include first-place finishes in the Mangaluru Triathlon, the Vizag Ultramarathon, and the Herculean Triathlon in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
