Deepsikha Chettri, 2nd woman officer from Sikkim to serve the Indian Army

Deepsikha Chettri has been making the people of her State proud. She is only the second women officer from Sikkim to ever serve the Indian Army. However, she is not just an army officer, but a doctor too. She has marched in an arena, where only men are seen more frequently. She is slowly becoming an inspiration for young girls.
Chief Minister of Sikkim, Prem Singh Tamang also congratulated Deepsikha Chettri on successfully joining the Indian Army. He took to his social media account to congratulate Dr. Deepsikha Chettri on accomplishing the captain rank in the Indian Army and becoming the second female officer from Sikkim to ever serve in the Indian Armed Forces.

Topper in studies
Deepsikha has always been a meritorious student. She secured the sixth rank in the All-India ranking and second among female candidates in the army medical exams. She also topped the MBBS examination from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences.
“She stood 6th in All-India ranking and 2nd among female candidates in the army medical exams,” shared CM Tamang. It is indeed a proud moment for her and her parents and the entire state. I wish her more milestones and success in all her endeavours and hope she inspires others to follow suit, he further added.
Deepsikha Chettri is performing her duties from the front line. Similarly, 24-year-old Mawya Sudan recently, became the first woman fighter pilot from Jammu & Kashmir to join the Indian Army. She is also the 12th woman fighter pilot in the country.
