As we known homosexual acts and adultery were decriminalised by the Supreme Court recently. General Bipin Rawat today said that homosexuality and adultery will remain offences in the Indian Army. Gen Rawat has clearly mentioned about the army act which they follow and why it is not possible for the army to allow homosexuality and adultery. Some people are unnecessarily creating controversy out of his statements, so let’s see what all he has said in the interview when asked about homosexuality in the Indian Army.
General Rawat said “For LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) issues, in the Army, these are not acceptable. We will still be dealing with them under various sections of the Army Act”.
“Army will not allow LGBT activities in the force. We have some section in Army acts to deal with this,”
“We have taught our men that how the social media is being used by our adversary to trap us. So don’t get trapped by social media,” General Rawat said. “Let me tell you that a lot of people have been honey trapped.”
