A soldier of the Indian Army’s Signal Regiment has been arrested in the Meerut cantonment on the charges of spying. The interrogation is currently underway. No more details have been revealed so far. The Army personnel has been arrested a few days after a BrahMos scientist was nabbed on the charges of spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
A BrahMos engineer, identified as Nishant Agarwal, was arrested in a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad on the charges of espionage. Agarwal had allegedly been sharing sensitive information related to the BrahMos missile with Pakistani officials. As per the reports, Agarwal had also been leaking information to the United States.
