Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s love for the Indian Army is very well known. It is no surprise to defence aspirants that the top Bollywood actor once wanted to be an army officer.
Like always, he never lets you slip out of surprises he has for you. He often expresses his views on his official Twitter handle and Facebook page. While his last video on women’s safety got a very good response from the public, he has uploaded another video suggesting that the country comes together to help the families of the martyrs financially.
Just a day before the 68th Republic day, the actor has sent out a strong message supporting the families of the martyr financially irrespective of the compensations provided by the government. He conveyed that not only the government is responsible for standing up for the welfare of soldiers, but every citizen is accountable for it as well.
He spoke about a platform, which will be a website or an app, where citizens could be connected to the family members of martyrs and could make financial transfers in form of donations to a verified account of one of the family members.
In his video, he says, “This idea is directly from my heart. Maybe it is useless or can be a big hit. We should have a mobile app or a website, which connects the family members of a martyred soldier with someone who wants to donate money. If a soldier of the Indian Armed forces dies on duty, then a verified account number of his family member would reflect on that site the very next day. It will also show the financial status of the soldier’s family.”
The account will be removed automatically from the app/website once the donations reach ₹15 lac.
He asks the public to support him so that he can get the app designed and produced himself, with permissions from the Indian Army and support from the Government of India.
He has also asked for suggestions from fans. Do you have any suggestions for the betterment of this idea? Like, protecting the bank identity of the family member. Let the suggestions get rolling.
