TGC is the opportunity, served by the Indian Army to the engineering pass outs. The entry is known for the huge crowd faced in the screening process and tough competition due to few vacancies. The entry is released twice a year, providing a good opportunity to all engineering pass outs. Two TGC entries are scheduled for IMA batches will began in 2017, i.e. TGC 127 and TGC 128. The TGC 127 will be scheduled for the IMA batches of 2018. The entry is totally based on the marks scored by the candidate in B.Tech. The basic overview of its eligibility is as follows.
Age – All unmarried male candidates, whose date of birth is falling in the range of 2nd July 1990 to 1st July 1997 are eligible for the TGC 125 entry. Both the above dates are inclusive in the eligibility criteria. For TGC 126 the age limit will be 2nd January 1991 to 1st January 1998, and for TGC 127, the age range will be 2nd July 1991 to 1st July 1998.
Educational Qualification – Engineering candidates having an engineering degree in Civil Engineering, EC, CSE, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Microelectronics and Microwaves, Electrical, Electronics and IT are eligible for the entry. The seats for all the streams are decided and mentioned by the respective authority as per the requirement.
Dates of Applying For Entry – For TGC 125, online submission of forms will continue from November and December and for TGC 126 and TGC 127, the form submission will start in May/ June and November/December next year.
Procedure To Apply For The Form – The form can be filled online on the official website of Indian army.
- Firstly go to joinindianarmy.nic.in
- Click on officer’s entry and click on REGISTRATION.
- Register your details and click on APPLY ONLINE.
- The next page will show OFFICER SELECTION ELIGIBILITY. Search for TGC and click on “APPLY” in front of TGC.
- An application form will appear. Fill it up and proceed to SAVE AND CONTINUE. At last, you will get complete summary of your form. Check it carefully.
- After checking, click on SUBMIT NOW and download two PDF copies of the form.
Cut off – The shortlisting is entirely based on the percentage of B.tech. The candidates shortlisted are called for the interview. As per the previous patterns, the cut-off of previous 3 TGC entries was 70%, 70% and 75%. This time, the cut-off this time, will be either equal or more than 75%. The cut off goes differently for different streams.

The shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview at respective SSB centres. The centres and dates will be announced at the same website, i.e. joinindianarmy.nic.in. The candidate has to appear at the given date and time at their allotted centres.
Documents Required At the Selection Centre
- 10th and 12th documents and self-attested copies
- Self-attested copies of engineering degree and all DMCs
- A printout of the application form with your photograph and duly signed by the candidate.
