The cost to company (CTC) is a term for the total salary package of an employee per year.
Recently, the union government announced the approval of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, which is bound to increase the salaries and pensions of all the central government employees.
At present – a Lieutenant starts at lowest of PB3 (₹15,600 – ₹39,100) which is ₹15,600 Basic Pay + Grade Pay and Allowances.
Here is a breakdown of the salary a Lieutenant and his equivalent counterparts from other services will make:
Basic Pay – ₹56,100
Main Scale Pay – ₹15,500
Travelling Allowance – ₹7, 200
Plus other allowances as applicable.

So, with these figures, a Lieutenant and his equivalent will earn a minimum sum of ₹78,800 per month.
Even though this is the least basic pay and allowances, there will be more allowances like housing allowance which will add up. So, on an average, the total salary (CTC) of a lieutenant is expected to be around ₹1.5 lacs per month.
