A Tunnel Connecting Pakistan To India Found

Hello, Warriors. Watching a tunnel connecting the Indian side with Pakistan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one thing. The Border Security Force yesterday detected a tunnel from Pakistan to India in Jammu, except it was to utilize it for terror activities ahead of the Amarnath Yatra to south Kashmir Himalayas.

Believing news reports, BSF personnel have discovered an underground tunnel at Allah Maie Kothay area in RS Pura sector of the International Border in Jammu district.

The BSF was conducting an investigation earlier in the day after it found a portion of land had caved in near the international border. This has been the fourth cross border tunnel emanating from Pakistan side which has been detected by BSF since 2012.

Earlier, BSF had detected a 400-metre long cross-border tunnel along the International Border in July 2012 in Samba sector.

In May 2014, it found a caved-in portion of the tunnel in Chillyari border belt in Samba district, which was found 23 metres inside the Indian Territory.

Another tunnel was discovered in August 2014, which was approximately 130 to 150 metres in length along the Line of Control (LoC) and originated on the Pakistan side, near a forward post along Indo-Pak border in Jammu region’s sensitive Pallanwala sector.

The newly found tunnel is the latest alignment point of the 400-meter long cross-border tunnel which was found in July two years ago, BSF officials said.

The tunnel’s dimension is 3×3 feet and is approximately 10 feet below the ground and has a length of 30 metres from their end to this side.

They said that it was blocked on Indian side making it a dead end. They added that it had no exit as they could not complete it further and it came close to the border fencing.

In this regard, BSF authorities have handed over a protest note to Pak Rangers over the tunnel issue.

The detection of caved-in-portion of this tunnel close to border has exposed Pakistan, that cross-border tunnel was dug from Pakistan side into the Indian territory to carry out infiltration and smuggling from across the border, which was denied by Pakistan in the past.

Senior BSF officers have reached the spot to ascertain whether the tunnel could have been dug to facilitate infiltration from across the border.

Significantly, the latest tunnel has been detected only two months after terrorists from Pakistan had attacked the IAF air base in Pathankot and ongoing peace talks between Modi and Shareef.

Should issues like these be retaliated strictly or should India back its hand-of-friendship from Pakistan? What are your views?
