Got Recommended For Indian Army – AIR 126

Got Recommended For Indian Army – AIR 126. I am Avinash Ranjan, 23 a biotechnology post graduate. Being done with my dissertation with JNU on human genomics, I cleared UPSC CDS II 2014 and was called Allahabad for my 1st SSB. Right from the MCO at the station I came across various views and “expert” advices on Do’s and Dont’s at the centre while and outside the tests. The very moment we arrived the Selection Center East, I was packed with diverse direction of actions for various tests by candidates around me which I honestly speaking didn’t bothered paying attention to. I got acquainted to some boys at station only and luckily got some of them at the same barrack after document verification, 19 SSB.

Screening went smooth as I framed a positive story providing ample details and projecting required OLQs, narration was even better and with the help of fellow gonna be FAUJIs concluded it nicely. I felt blessed being screened in and wished luck to my friends who couldn’t make it up this time.
Psychologist officer instructed quite informatively which helped me frame quality stories in the given time. A nice approach as per me is to write a concise, well-groomed, action-oriented story with a confined goal. I wrote about my presentation at a recent International conference on Climate Change in the blank slide. WAT and SRT were something which 1st came in my mind and describing me the same as my PIQ did.

GTO was the most interesting part of my SSB being a Basketball player.
Please don’t overspeak while GD and GTO, listen properly think and then speak as long as you have  valid points to put, don’t repeat or try to overpower somebody,s idea or suggestion. Keep Calm and talk sense. Stay polite, active and helpful throughout the group tasks, act wisely while command task, fast and brave during the Individual Obstacles. It will be more than enough to sail you swiftly.SSB Allahabad Batch
I was interviewed for around 1 hr 50 mins on the very 1st GTO day and in my views was the most significant reason behind my recommendation. It was a formal questionnaire about my personal and professional life which soon transformed into a casual talk seeking answers for the steep fall in my graduation marks, switching from research career, my engagements during graduation such as Social Work, Basketball, teaching and the two of us talked endlessly smiling over my personal affairs like the distinct ways of passing my day while graduation in Delhi University and back home, the fun in my college lives bot B.Sc(Hons.) Botany and M.sc Biotechnology for more than an hour. I think talking truly & confidently about things you know and admitting your shortcomings will take you through.
My conference took longer than usual (~ 10 mins) because I was asked a lot of questions relating to my friends and family and my academics. It’s a “Make it or break it’ situation and I made it.
I got recommended and was feeling bestowed with happiness, I had an immensely good time with my fellow mates in lines. I thanked them for their support and wished them luck.
Medicals were over after a small hurdle of a TR for Overweight and now I am merit in with AIR 126.
I wish all the gonna be FAUJIs best of luck and advice them to act a bit judicially throughout SSB.
