NDA 1 2016 Paper Analysis and Expected Cut off. Hello aspirants, NDA (I) 2016 was conducted by UPSC on 17th April. The paper was conducted in two sittings. Mathematics paper was the first, followed by the General Ability Test paper. The difficulty level of the paper was not so high, but it covered a majority of topics.

NDA 1 2016 Paper Analysis Mathematics
The paper was not so difficult, but was a lengthy one. It had questions from a variety of topics. While the NDA/NA 2016(I) paper had large number of questions from Calculus, this time it consisted of questions from Co-Ordinate geometry. Topics like Relations and Functions, Sets, Calculus, Trigonometry and Algebra also had good amount of questions based on them. There was lesser number of questions from other topics. In total, it had 120 questions and was of 300 marks in total. There was 1/3rd negative marking for wrong answer.  The paper required speed with accuracy.
NDA 1 2016 Paper Analysis General Ability Test
The general ability paper had 150 questions and was of 600 marks. As in the first paper, there was 1/3rd negative marking for wrong answers. This paper was further divided into two parts, Part A and Part B.
- Part A: Part A had 50 questions of English. First 6 questions were ordering of sentence, followed by four synonym and four antonym questions in sentence form. The next fifteen questions were of sentence improvement then fifteen questions of spotting error in the sentence were there. The last five were selecting words for the passage. The questions were of average standard.
- Part B: Part B consisted of questions varying from science to general knowledge. Though no particular pattern of questions was followed, the last ten questions were entirely from current affairs. The question from physics, chemistry and biology were simple. The questions from history, geography and civics were mostly related to Indian part of it.
It is always better to try lesser questions of which you are sure about than to attempt questions you are not so sure about. The cut-off will lie in the range 320-350, as expected from previous year question papers. Good Luck.
