Defence forces not only provide a challenging career but it also provides the opportunity to serve the motherland with prestige. There is nowadays a growing demand for this career amongst the youth who want to achieve the dream of wearing a uniform and that too with pride. But is that so simple to protect our country or get the responsibility of millions who sleep well because they are assured someone at the border is protecting them.
Not at all, there are various modes of examination and once these exams are cleared or the list is prepared for any of the entry each one has to fight the battle called SSB. SSB is the selection process for getting recommended and then join the forces. Its a five day long examination procedure where each aspirant is judged on various aspects of personality and then recommended for the job by multiple assessors. There are two ways of undergoing SSB interviews. First method is through applying and qualifying in the following entrance examinations.

- Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) + Engineering knowledge test (EKT)

- Technical Short Service Commission courses – SSC Tech
- Non Technical Short Service Commission Courses – SSC Non Tech
- University Entry Scheme (UES)
- Tech Entry Scheme (TES)
- IAF’s Meteorology Branch Course
- Fast track Selection
- Navy’s Executive Branch entry
