SSC-CGL (Combined Graduate Level)

Staff Selection Commission conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination, for recruitment to different posts every year. The Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum Educational Qualification for the examination. The eligible candidate can apply for the posts in usually February 2013. SSC graduate level recruitment is completed in three phases. CGL recruitment is categorized in two groups. First group for which interview test will be conducted and for 2nd group post their will be no interview test will be conducted. For example an interview cum personality test will be conducted for assistant post in various departments, inspector of income tax/central excise/preventive officer/examiner/Post/narcotics, CBI SI, Divisional accountant, statistical Investigator Grade II. Pay grade of mostly posts are 4600 and 4200. Non interview post are auditor, accountant junior accountant, UDC, Tax assistant, Complier. For now interview post Grade pay will be 2800 and 2400.
Age Limit
  • For Inspector of Income Tax/ Inspector (Central Excise)/ Inspector (Preventive Officer)/ Inspector (Examiner)/ Inspector of Posts/ Assistant Enforcement Officer/Inspector (CBN) Compiler/ Divisional Accountant/ Auditors/ UDCs /Tax Assistants/ Junior Accountant & Accountant /Sub-Inspector (CBN): 18-27 years
  • For Statistical Investigator Gr.II: Not exceeding 26 years
  • For Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI: 20-27 years
Essential Qualifications
  • Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.
  • Statistical Investigator Grade – II Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects Or Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics( with Statistics as a papers studied in one year/two years/all three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
  • Bachelor’s Degree with Economics ( with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
  • Bachelor’s Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects
  • All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent
Scheme of Examination
The Examination is conducted in three tiers as indicated below:
  • Tier -I — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type) 200 marks
  • Tier -II — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type) 400 marks
  • Tier -III — Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification & Descriptive/on-line test of qualifying nature. 100 marks.

SSC-CPO (Central Police Organizations)

SSC declares Examination for Recruitment of S.I in CPOs, A.S.I in CISF and I.O in NCB every year. So this is a nice opportunity for candidates who wish to join CPO, CPF or NCB as SI and ASI. First of all I want to make an Introduction about Selection Processes for SSC CPO EXAM for SI, ASI and IO Positions in CPO, CPF and NCB. SSC CPO Exam will be conduct in three phases i.e. SSC CPO Written Test, SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test (PET) and SSC CPO Medical Test. And candidates qualified in all phases will be taken for the Posts of S.I in CPOs, A.S.I in CISF & I.O in NCB.
  • SSC CPO Written Test for SI, ASI and IO Positions in CPO, CPF and NCB: SSC CPO written Test for the posts of Sub Inspector, Assistant Sub Inspector and Intelligence Officers consist of two papers PAPER-I and PAPER-II. PAPER-I is of Two hours duration from 10.00A.M. to 12.00 Noon. This section will be of 200 marks and consists of 200 questions in for sections each section will be of equal marks and equal no. of questions which means that each section will consist of 50 questions and 50 marks. This Paper will be on both Hindi and English language. sections are:-
    • General Intelligence  and  Reasoning  Test
    • General Knowledge and General Awareness Test
    • Numerical Aptitude Test
    • English  Comprehension Test
  • PAPER-II for SSC CPO Exam will only consist of subject English language & Comprehension Test. This phase will be also of two hours duration and will be conduct from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. In this paper for SSC CPO Exam there will be 200 questions and consists of 200 marks also. Both papers will be have Objective Multiple Choice Type questions only in SSC CPO SI and ASI Exam. There will be negative marking also which means for each wrong answer you made wrong will cause Deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Medical Test: Candidates will have to undergo PET / MEDICAL Examination. Only those candidates who secure qualifying marks in Paper I of the written examination, as may be fixed by the Commission at their discretion, and It is also required to clear Eligibility and Physical Endurance Test (PET) and medical test, for to be called for the Personality Test / Interview based on their combined performance in Paper I and II of the written examination.
  • AGE LIMITS:- for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, CAPFs, and Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF and Intelligence Officer in NCB is 20-25 years.
  • ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: – bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

CAPF Central Armed Police Forces

The UPSC conducts Central Police Force Examinations every year to recruit Assistant Commandments (Group A) in Central Police Forces. The examination is conducted in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Gazette of India.
  • Age limit is 20 to 25 years.
  • Educational Qualification:-Degree of a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
The recruitment is done under the five main categories:-
  • Border Security Force (BSF)
  • Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  • Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
  • Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
  • Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
Selection Procedure and Syllabus of the Examination
The Selection Procedure/Scheme of the Exam is as follows:
  • Written Examination: The written examination to be conducted by Union PublicService Commission will be held on 11th November, 2012 and will comprise twopapers. Paper I will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.00 Noon and Paper II will be held from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • Paper I : General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks the questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type in which the questions will be set in English as well as Hindi.
  • Paper II : General Studies, Essay and Comprehension – 200 Marks In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Précis Writing, Comprehension Components and their communications/language skills will be English only.
  • Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests:- Candidates who for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.  Those candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards.
  • Interview/personality test:-interview carries 150 marks and only medically fit candidates are interviewed by upsc board.
