may we ask about IT engineers recruitment. why they are not taking IT student while they are giving GATE exam in computer engineering.
Prabhat your argument is baseless since, in GATE being an IT student you are free to appear for exam of mechanical aswell. provided you it will take you months of preparation to coverup all the topics of mech being an IT student. But they do allow.
However your point is ofcourse valid and a cause of concern for many. Few have already approached the directorate and written applications showing their concern. One can only be hopeful for some positive result.
@SJ : i did not get you brother!! IT and Comp are considered equal in GATE.. and for your information Info Tech IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO ANSWER MECHANICAL ENGG… from what you are saying i can infer that any branch can answer any branch papar in gate!! But here dat is not the discussion. Prabhat asked if IT and Comp are considered equal in GATE (which is decided by IITs and IISc) than y cant army consider dat..
Prabhat your point is valid.. please do RTI asap so that army realize that without doing research if they notify/un-notify a branch than what happens…i did RTI already n waiting for their reply.. if more n more ppl do it der will be some pressure created on ppl who are sitting at those chairs and release notifications…
I understand. I may be wrong, I am many a times. We are open to talk about it. Lets put together some facts about it.
I have witnessed many blogs and communities where the hot topic for discussion is IT guys Being excluded. Your point seems very much valid and I extend my heart out to all the IT guys. What the point of being an engineer with one not being counted as one! this literally keeps one out from any engineers entry in the army.
Solution: One may approach IAF and Indian Navy. 🙂
The thing i feel is that there are various courses being offered like M.Sc(IT/ computer science) and even MCA. The addl. directorate for recruiting must have found the above mentioned courses same as IT. Hence they might be coming up with some other scheme for the IT guys. Trust me they have no hard feeling for the IT guys. Infact they have a whole division ‘school of computer science’ for training and upgrading the technical proficiency of the officers which is affiliated to IIT.
Bottom Line: Dont be disheartened. Try every possible entry that you can give(Tech or non Tech). Once you are consistent in your approach you may be flooded with joining letter from various academies.
RTI and approach to addl. directorate, recruiting, RTG, RK puram should also be a very nice diplomatic approach.
I am final year engineering student in MAE(Maharashtra Acedemy of Engineering,Pune). I appeared in the interview conducted in my college campus by senior officials of indian army last year. I was shortlisted. It was written in a notice put up in our campus that a call letter for SSB will be given which has not been received by any of the candidates.Later i found out my SSB centre is Allahabad through army website. I wanted to know when can I expect my SSB call letter.
