Freshers Vs Repeaters in SSB Interview

freshers
Hi Friends SSB Interview is a very amazing experience for most of us. SSB Interview gives us lot of confidence to do well in our personal life and the challenges we might face in future, but most of us do not understand the way of SSB selection procedure and start commenting on the way its getting conduct, mostly the one who failed in the SSB interview.

Yes I am talking about the repeaters, you might have faced the person who had attended 1 -2 SSB interviews and start cribbing about the way of selection, some looser may comment on the dignity and honesty of the SSB board. Its a natural behavior of  few of us, but the rest of us still have the faith in ourselves that one day we will do it .It must come from inside , I am talking about the will to join the forces, a strong will makes the difference.
ssb recommended candidates bhopal ssb
Okay this post is basically for the repeaters and mostly to my readers who asked me few questions which I would like to answer in this post. Okay the most common question is ” Why I am not getting recommend ?
In fact you have attended so many SSB interviews and  you are unable to make it, where is the fault exactly ? the only person who can answer this is your assessors and you, assessors are not going to tell you about your performance so you have to analyze the things and try to figure out what is going wrong in your performance.
Also many repeaters just attends the SSB interview thinking as if this time their lucky star will shine and they will get recommend, SSB in not a cake walk, it absolutely looks simple but it is not. Why I am saying it looks simple because we always see some one from our batch is getting recommend in front of our eyes, we make some judgement like “ How come he got recommend? ” or few of us says ” Ye recommend ho gaya?? ab toh main kabhi SSB interview attend nahi karunga“. Again a common behavior, a judgmental behavior, instead of judging our own performance  we normally cry, SSB is not something which give us an assurance  that we will get recommend after 5-6 attempts, if you perform it according to the desired one then you will be in, in the very first attempt.
If you are a fresher then you have a good chance to showcase your talent and desire to join the forces, also the chances are more if you perform up to expected level. Yes you can take coaching in a good institute and it will always help you, few says coaching will change your originality, its absurd, one should have minimum sense of following the things, whatever you are learning in coaching you must analyse it and perform it in your own way, simple copy paste of coaching will never make you through. As a fresher coaching is 200% helpful but it must be from good hands and minds.
Repeater friends, please analyses your past performances, mistakes, practice hard, try to know what they want. Repeaters can easily break the code of SSB because they have an idea of what kind of candidates gets recommend. Please do not just simply attend the next SSB until you know where are you lacking and what exactly you need to do in the up coming SSB.
” Mostly the repeaters are those who have a weak psychology “
If you had 5-6 attempts and you are still unable to make it then the reason is weak psychology, you do not know what you should write in psychology test. You may be writing something which is fake and just trying to project something which you do not have, also you must be writing something which do not shows any OLQs of yours. Psychology can be  improved by practice, but also there is a chance that you are good at Psychology but not doing well in GTO. Anyways the main problem is of psychology because Psychologist never takes any chance of selecting a doubtful candidates ” its not easy  to impress the psychologist“. You can impress the IO or GTO by your looks and mannerism but in case of your Psychologist your Pen must do the job for you.

  2. hi sir i have attend 2 times airforce ssb in nov 2012 and june 2013 and was screened out in both . i did a mistake in navy dec 2013 appln by putting that i havent attended ssb so far. i got a ssb call what should i do now. should i tell them what happened in the interview or hide it

  3. Sir during my ssb Conference i first wait for 15 min and after its over the officers take 30 min before calling next candidate but i was not selected .not the next one .does this time matter in my selection

  4. Dear Sir,

    It all happened during my interview when there were 3-4 rapid fire rounds,and questions were all pertaining to personal sections and then i was said thank you after an interview of around 35-40 minutes,the situation was such that i was supposed to leave,though when i geared up for leaving the interviewing officer started asking questions on current affair, though i was not recommended as my GTO was a disaster, my question is what would have led the I.O to ask questions again this time on Current affairs;
    1. Was it to check my patience/how eager was i to leave
    2. Did the I.O felt that i was border line case and wanted to confirm the same by asking Current events

Looking forward for your valuable response.

    • Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking out your precious time to help me out with my doubts, though i don’t remember it very clearly but i strongly believe he said thank you and that it was nice talking to me which made me have that feeling in me that i was supposed to leave.

      Looking forward for your response.

    • Dear Sir,

Thank you for helping me out but i don’t agree with your point that i would have heard something out of my nervousness.

Will come out with more doubts once i analyze my previous experiences and expecting to get similar support on the same.

  6. sir i attended the last ssb on may 2009…its my first attempt for airforce through afcat…overall 7th attempt.in my first 2 attempts i made it upto confrnc..bt the last four were drastic for me.. i hav taken coachng 4 it earlier,bt it was useless as they didnt emphasis on i.o. and g.t.o.
now i have almost 1 month for my ssb… should i go for better coachng in delhi or practice at home….

  7. sir, i dint get my name in the 1st call up list of afsb, and will hopefully get in the second. im a repeater. do the chances of no. of candidates getting recommended decline in the 2nd call up, as the 1st call up is almost for the 80% of total students so most of the recomendations will already be made by then, and we will be the left overs?

  8. In conference they asked me tagline of docomo?(I didnt answer this question in my interview and this was my hobby sir)and sir i gav right answer. When question was asked in interview isaid i will find it out.2) To tell me about my experience from first day onwards? it took around 3-4 min

  10. @Harman Yes it is correct , and its in the website also but in the wrong section ( women) .

@Shyam You can say you were more in extra curricular activities and sports.

Im facing a problem in IO…i got low marks in 12th n the reason behind that is i din study…just i din study, always roaming…wat should i tell the IO…please provide some justifiable answer or guide me

  12. @Abhinav It may be for checking your patience, also there may be some other reason, may be your IO wasn’t there or any paper work, so don’t worry about that, what matters is how you perform in Interview, show them that your can wait even more without getting tired. be confident and try to improve your weak points.

  13. @admin sir if the io asks me y dint u get selected last time and i answer him saying that i wasnt confident and heard experiences of my friends who were recomended and rejected and acted on their advice got confused in the interview i wasnt able to show what actually iam.. is it rite 2 say dis..

  17. @geet Its quite encouraging after knowing that you cleared the SSB in your 6th attempt. I am confident that i will make it through this time as I have put in a lot of efforts in improving myself. I wanted to ask something about your experience. I have been practiced some questions which i think will surely be asked from me. One ques is “Why do you think you didn’t clear the last time?” and all I could come out is with an honest reply that I am not aware of the exact reasons as to why i didn’t clear the last time. But I know a certain places where I learnt that I need to improve, Like the GTO if I have an idea i should initiate and do it myself in order to convince the team in a better way rather than telling the idea.

I am sure you were also asked this ques in your 6th attempt, so what did you answer?

  18. vry nic.. introspection is the only key to get success spcly fr repeaters..i did n made it in 6th attempt 🙂 toally agreed wid wat u hv said above..

  19. @ADMIN You are absolutely right. I have seen a lot of candidates not only getting discouraged but also discouraging others. Getting disappointed is natural but one must not get discouraged. I also introspected myself after my last SSB, and found out that all I need to do is improve on my thought process, which is not easy but possible. I have experienced a lot of change in recent days in my way of thinking and my actions. It is true that “Our thinking shows in our actions:

    Thank you for your inputs.
