Sachin Pilot Now In Territorial Army

On Thursday 06 Sep 2012,Sachin Pilot became the first union minister to be commissioned as a regular officer in the territorial Indian Army. The ceremony held in New Delhi in South Block, Army Chief Gen Bikram Singh and Sachin’s mother Rama Pilot pipped ranks of Lieutenant, he joined 124 TA Battalion of the Sikh Regiment.

Regular Procedures he followed to Join TA:

  1. Qualified written test for TA.
  2. Cleared SSB  at Allahabad SSB  Board.

Mandatory Training He will go through :

  1. 3 months in TA Academy at Devlali.
  2. 3 months in IMA Dehradun.
He has a strong defence background with father Squadron Leader Rajesh Pilot who was a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force (IAF) and his grandfather served the Indian Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO).

He has joined the territorial army as a regular TA entry which is different from honorary rank given to Kapil Dev, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and actor Mohan Lal as Honorary Lieutenant Colonels.

Ishihara Test To Check Color Blindness

Recently I have faced some questions from a aspirant who has a problem of colour-blindness, he was asking me the chances of his getting into armed forces without any problem. Though the problem of colour blindness is a serious, it may post a rejection during medicals. Some of the candidates are not aware of this problem and they may have colour blindness which they have never felt because they have never faced any problem in their normal life.
Here we are going to talk about what colour blindness is and its effects in medical examination after SSB interview:

Q1: What is colour blindness?

A : It is the inability to differentiate between certain colours, due to absence of colour sensitive pigments in the cone cell of the retina.

Q2 : How can I check the colour blindness?

A : If you face the problem in differentiating certain colours, then you should consult an ophthalmologist. Though I am posting some tests below to check the colour blindness, you can go through it and post the results in comment box below. I am sure majority of you will not face any problem.

Indian Air force is conducting FTS-Fast Track Selection in Bangalore on 04 Sep 2012 respectively  for shortlisting men and women for Meteorological branch for the course commencing on Jan 2013.

Venue:

H K B K C O L L E G E O F ENGINEERING, SNO  22/1, NAGAWARA, BENGALURU – 560045

Eligibility:

Both men and women with the following qualifications are eligible.
Age: 20-25 Years as on 01 July 2013 i.e born in between 02 July 1988 to 01 July 1993. The upper age limit is relaxed upto 27 Years (i.e born in between 02 July 1986 to 01 July 1993) for candidates who have completed Ph D after completing following educational qualifications.
Education Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in any Science  stream / Mathematics / Statistics / Geography / Computer Applications / Environmental Science / Applied Physics / Oceanography / Meteorology / Agricultural Meteorology / Ecology & Environment / Geo-physics / Environmental Biology with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at Graduation Level, with a minimum of 55% marks in both).
Note: All the candidates should be able to provide provisional/original degree by the university latest by 15 Dec 2012.

How to Apply

  1. On the spot registration will take place between 0800Hrs -1100 Hrs at the venue mentioned.

Required Documents

  1. two copies of pre-filled FTS pro forma.
  2. Original certificate of secondary school examination as proof of DOB.
  3. Mark sheets of senior secondary school.
  4. All original mark sheets of Graduation/Post graduation.
  5. Proof of identity like PAN card,Passport, Voter Id card, College Id etc.

Selection Procedure

  1. Candidates will go through written test and PPDT, result will be announced on the same day.
  2. Shortlisted candidates will get a call letter for any one AFSB. 
  3. Shortlisted candidates will be called at one of the  AFSBs at Varansi, Dheradun, Mysore.
  4. Recommended candidates will go for Medical testing at AFCME.
  5. Recommended and medically fit candidates will be joining training based on their  merit list.   
Note: Candidates already apperes for 133 GDOC/ 26 SSC/ 42 SSC course are not eligible.

After Indian Airforce official website careerairforce.nic.in, its the time for Navy official website to get a new look, recently nausena-bharti.nic.in got a new look which is more usable and convenient for aspirants. Though the services provided by this website earlier are commendable but with this new look it comes with much better services.

Hope Indian Army will soon improve their services and come up with a great look for Indian Army official website joinindianarmy.nic.in. Presently there are many issues present which create problem for Indian Army aspirants, the major issues are like, candidate can not regenerate his/her application form again, also there is no structured SSB Interview online list present in their portal.

Tips To Fill PIQ Form In SSB Interview

PIQ form is a very crucial part in SSB Interview, it can be a game changer for you. All most all repeaters knows the importance of PIQ form and the data written on it. If you are a fresher then you must be thinking, why PIQ form is so important  in SSB interview. Let us discuss the importance of PIQ form and some points one must keep in mind while filling up the details.

What is PIQ form?

  • PIQ stands for “Personal Information Questionnaire”, it is a set of basic questions written on a paper, which is required for your SSB interview. These questions are helpful for assessors to judge you better and after knowing certain things about you they can understand your personality. 

Why PIQ form is important?

  • It contains some basic details about you, which sometimes give a base to your personality, whatever you write in your PIQ form,  must be satisfied by your saying and doing during SSB testing. There shouldn’t be any miss match between what you have written and your are saying. 
  • Most of the questions asked by IO in the personal interview are based on your PIQ form, IO goes through your PIQ form well in advance and come up with some questions to crosscheck your PIQ form, questions used to cross check are so indirect and you might take it in ease but you should not contradict what you have written in the PIQ form. So it is better to write what you are and what you can prove during personal interview. 

Common mistake when filling  PIQ form:

  • Entering inaccurate information due to lack of self knowledge.
  • Entering false data to get more attention from SSB Board.
  • Writing too much of data and boasting.
  • Poor handwriting. 
  • Not taking the form seriously and writing without remembering anything.
  • Not aware or confused about  special achievements in academics and sports, ending up with writing false achievements.
  • Not mentioning correct hobbies and extra curricular activities. 

Tips to fill PIQ form:

  1. Write legibly.
  2. Know your personal details and avoid mistakes in basic information.
  3. Write true statements and answers. 
  4. Do remember what you are writing, it may help during interview. 
  5. Write correct achievements and hobbies, make sure you know about what you have written on the form. 
  6. Avoid cutting and overwriting.
  7. Avoid matching with others PIQ form.
  8. Write correct number of total attempts your have done so far.

Conclusion: 

PIQ form is indeed very helpful to decide your result, specially it plays a crucial role during personal interview. One must take his PIQ form  seriously and fill it will full attention.
