Rahul Got Recommended in TES 29 Entry

2

Hello friends I am Rahul Mahala from Rajasthan and I got recommended from 20 SSB Bhopal on 7 April 2013 for 10+2 TES Course-29 and it was my 3rd attempt! I would first like to tell you about my previous two attempts. my first attempt was for NDA-128 my SSB center was BHOPAL and board was 22 SSB I got Recommended in that attempt but unfortunately I got merit and my 2nd attempt was for TES-28 and I got  conference out in that. So I was going Bhopal 2nd time and was fully confident to repeat the performance of first time. In this attempt my main focus was on not to repeat the mistakes of second attempt. Now I am sharing my 5 day experience at the board.

SSB Screening

I reported on 2 April at the SSB and round 170 candidates were there and I was the biggest repeater there and after the documentation I was allotted chest no 155. Next day non verbal and verbal tests were conducted and I attempted maximum no of them  and the next task was PPDT! We were shown a hazy picture, as I was sitting I last It was blur, but I saw a man holding a rifel   and I made the story around naxalite and how my hero sabotage the plans of naxalite.  During the group discussion I spoke 3-4 times and added points to the group story and motivated other group members for adding points in discussion after screening total of 50 were screened in and my chest no was 20.

SSB Psychological Tests

Next day Psych tests were there. In TAT we were shown quite pressure situations and I wrote simple and did not try to fake out. WAT was good and wrote around 54 sentences out of 60. SRT were also good as I gave logical responses I attempted 57 SRT’s out of 60. SD was good as I have practiced it before and wrote my positive and negative points. I gave a true representation of myself in the SD.

GTO Tests

GTO tasks were next on schedule, I was little tensed as my room was not with my group members and so I was not able to spend time with my group. I decided to support my group in every task as GTO was a series of group task. GTO testing started with GD and I spoke 4 times in both the GD’s and gave chance to each group members. Same was my procedure in GPE but while discussion our group was not able to decide a common group plan as there was a bit quarrel among the members . I wrote a very practical plan and in gd I gave 2 very practical solutions. Next was PGT and I think that was an easy PGT up to obstacle no 2 but when we reach 3rd obstacle we all got trapped and there was little clash of ideas among the members and group was not listening to my ideas at that point GTO stood up and told us to implement idea instead of talking, we implemented my idea and crossed the obstacle. HGT was also good . Lecturette was just fine and I spoke for the whole 3 mins. CT was the real test1 was called  and the GTO Sir had a brief interview with me for 5 mins regarding my previous attempts. He gave me CT and I did it well. In individual obstacles I completed 10 out of 10 and repeated IO no 9. FGT was normal.

SSB Personal Interviews

My Interview was taken by Dy president IO.  Interview was smooth. This was the first time I was satisfied with my interview . I gave the answers of all the questions after thinking for some time .I was not impatient in answering. I was asked 2 rapid fire in which all the questions were asked and apart form that GK and technical questions were put in front of me. I gave the answers of tech questions but was not able to answer many GK questions. I also admitted that my GK was not good and I have to work on it. On an average I was satisfied with my performance.

SSB Conference

Before conference I made sure that I know all the answers of the questions which I didn’t answered in the interview. I had to wait 10 minutes before entering the conference hall. this time I was not nervous .As I entered the hall I found that all the officers were in UNIFORM and was difficult to distinguish. I was smiling and kept the same smile throughout. I was asked GK question I answer some but stuck in few, Dpty president told me that  I have to work on this and told me that was GK part was very weak . When I walked out of the conference hall I was little nervous due to the comments of Dypt. BUT when the result came the second chest no was 20 I was recommended for the ARMY that was the happiest moment of my life. Total of 5 were selected out of 50. It had subtle feeling at time. During medicals I was declared unfit for EYE (ADS) and cardiac murmar. I my appeal medical board my luck did not supported me and  was given permanent rejection in EYE . I AM CURRENTLY UNDEGOING TREATMENT AND WILL AGAIN APPLY FOR UES AS MY AGE FOR TES IS EXCEEDED.
SO MT QUEST FOR INDIA’S TOP ORGANISATION (INDIAN ARMY) CONT….One thing I want to say is never lose hope and one day I will also achieve my AIM.

Indian Army Joins Twitter and Facebook

1
Indian Army Joins Twitter and Facebook

Now aspirants can follow Indian Army on social networking platform like Facebook and Twitter. Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) joined Twitter and Facebook lately. These accounts are official accounts of Indian Army and not a fan page or profile created by others.

Not only Indian Army but armies all over the world are using all social networking sites. Countries like US, UK etc are leading the chart, not only these armies but their Officers are also present in the social networking  websites.

Apart from social networking, these armies also have their own blogs and website to communicate with others and for better exchange of ideas. At present the Indian Army is not very popular in Facebook and Twitter which may take some more time but they are continuously posting news related to all happenings going in Indian Army.

Indian Army Official Twitter Account

This is the high time when India Army must improve their present in online sphere. Indian Army also need to improve their website with updated news and alerts. At present the condition of Indian Army official career website is not so good.

Earlier Indian Army asked their officers to quit social networking website considering the threat of security lapses. But, now the things have changed and India Army knows that merely keeping a presence online won’t create any security risks.

Aspirants who wants to follow Indian Army social networking accounts, can do so from the links given below.

Selection method used for recommendation in SSB Interview

14
ssb interview selection method

Hi all Defence aspirants, do you know that what selection method is used to recommend a candidate in SSB? If No then I am giving the information on the selection procedure of the candidate in SSB Interview. Normally SSB is fully confidential and nobody knows that who is going to get recommend and who is not, except assessors. But if any candidate belonging to an armed force officer family which has worked in SSB then he/she can tell you the exact method of selection.

I belong to a Defence background and my grand-father (My mother’s uncle) was Late Lt. Col. He told me the whole process of selection which I am discussing with all of you. It is mention below:

During the SSB Testing’s included Psychology, GTO and Interview the Assessors divided all the candidates in five Grade groups such as:
A, B, C, D, E

Now after it they give marks to the candidate in respect to their performance and on behalf of their performance Assessors distributed the candidates in above Grade groups.

SSB Marks of Grade Groups:

  • If the candidate gets more than 80% marks then he/she in Group A or B.
  • If the candidate gets 60% to 80% marks then he/she in Group C or D.
  • If the candidate gets less than 60% marks then he/she in Group E.
ssb interview

Conditions for Recommendation

So there are three conditions for recommendation or not recommendation such as:
  • If candidate in Group A or B then technically he/she is not fit for training in armed forces because he/she is much talented and should go for higher jobs such as IAS, IPS, Scientists etc.
  • If candidate in Group E then he/she below standard and also not fit for training in armed forces.
  • If candidate in Group C or D then technically he/she fit for training in armed forces.
So only Group C or D candidates recommend in SSB.  Group C candidates are clearly recommended and Group D candidates are boundary line candidates. Hence, if any candidate wants to join armed forces as an officer then first understand that what SSB wants from you.

I hope this article is much useful for all those aspirants who are not aware the demands of SSB.

SSB Conference

Before conference i made sure that I know all the answers of the questions which I didn’t answered in the interview. I had to wait 15 minutes before entering the conference hall. this time i was not nervous but i was surprised that what took so long !As I entered the hall I found that all the officers were in a very serious mood but I was smiling and kept the same smile throughout .
