10 Reasons Why A Military Brat Is Better Traveller Than You

0
nda special train

Ever wondered the life of a fauji kid? Just like any other civilian kid? No! Dull and monotonous? Not a chance!

Some people are consumed by wanderlust but don’t get that many chances, for some it is a basic necessity to move around from place to place as travelling for them is the binding ground to meet the demands of their jobs and family,  some have pukey and sickening experiences of travelling, for some travelling is like any other form of meditation that keeps them vibrant and sparkling throughout and unravels the knots of messy minds in this mundane atmosphere. Well, we all try to inculcate something extraordinary in our ordinary lives to keep the circle moving. And yet, in many fractions of this world there we have our military mates, for whom travelling is a thing of next door! They deal with a kind of life that has plentiful adventure and thrill at its store and no matter how accustomed they get with this custom of living in more places than they can actually count on fingers, changing schools more than the number of grades, packing and unpacking a hundred times over, and hey,  they always look forward to it each time! Because they have now become established travellers!

oir test and ppdt

So what makes them different from a regular traveller? Or let’s shift to the more obvious question– why a fauji kid is a better traveller than you?

  1. They get attuned to it and love the life of a globetrotter: As aforesaid, travelling for most of the time make people feel sick of it and it becomes a reason for apathy and de-escalates enthusiasm in them. On the contrary, military brats love moving, making new friends from different cultures and traditions, getting to know their lifestyle, learning new languages, incorporating a variety of cuisines in their own customs, getting to adapt and live in almost all kinds of topographical terrains. Exciting, huh??
  2. They don’t belong to just one place:  They belong to more places than we actually cover in our own cities! Their identity isn’t stuck to just one place in the country, but innumerable to account for.
  3. Their interaction with strangers is fast: Having to change schools for so many times, they are awesome at the art of making friends. Befriending any stranger and communicating with them, with or without the barrier of language is a way of life for the fauji kids. It actually enhances their capability to know the place better.
  4. Never a tourist, they are remodelled into travellers: Visiting some crowded tourist places and clicking selfies, isn’t their thing. They will wander to the remotest of the places in their locality, know the most famous dishes and cuisines of the various street corners, celebrate regional festivals and collect all experiences and memories for life.
  5. They can find a home anywhere. Even in a bunker or a tent: The best moments are spent under the sky full of stars on a windy and wild night. Fauji kids love the rough and rogue lifestyle. Travelling, scouting, sleeping under tents with buddies give them more happiness than cosying around in a snuggly bed of a hotel.
  6. They don’t just survive and endure, they adapt: One thing is for quite sure, they never resent anything. Put them in any part of the world with any geographical condition, they will not just survive but also adapt efficiently to all kinds of climate. And language, people, food, lifestyle have never been an obstruction to their adjustments. Just bring it on!
  7. They are one of the best backpackers: Be it their chess boards or treasure boxes, Hot wheels cars or Barbie doll sets, presents from relatives or secret gadgets passed on from friends; they can pack it all in just one trunk! With every bit of things necessary or unnecessary, they have it all covered.
  8. They have been trained in survival skills, no terrain is severe or harsh to them: We civilians take coachings or join camps to learn outdoor activities like swimming, rope climbing, shooting, playing golf, driving, riding bikes, rafting, etc. But for the military brats, it is just another day of progressive development and blossoming, right from the age of 5!  This is because when you have fauji parents, your entire life is a summer camp! Experiencing different levels of body physical training, getting acquainted with the life of a soldier without electronic gadgets or GPS and much more; all of it makes them stronger each day.
  9. For the fauji brats, picking up a local tongue and accents is something to be proud of: For them being cool is picking up the regional tongue and accent and also incorporating the local tapori style. This gives them a sense of belonging and they easily connect and identify with others.
  10. What amaze the army brats is, the people who have lived their entire life in that one same place: Hey! now they are called fauji kids for a supposed reason. They unquestionably critique people who don’t share the spirit of travelling! They are vagabonds, who do not wish to wake up to the same outlook for all their lives.

Cracked SSB Interview 2 Times In 10 Attempts

0
CRACKED SSB INTERVIEW 2 TIMES IN 10 ATTEMPTS

IF WE BELIVE ON OURSELVES AND WORK HARD TO ACHIEVE  WHAT WE WANT, THE WHOLE WORLD  WILL GET TOGETHER TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.Hello friends this is Sudipto Chatterjee from Berhampore (Murshidabad),West Bengal and at this point in time when I have made my dream come true I would like to share my experience of a long journey of 7 years comprising 10 SSB attempts and I hope this would help you all in  believing that our dedication and hardwork will never betray us.

Belonging to an Army background it was a dream for me to be an army officer. Did schooling from APS Mathura Cantt, Ambala Cantt, Kandrori and Bengdubi and from KV Berhampore. So, that was 2011 when I first went to SSB Allahabad after my 10+2 and having quite a knowledge regarding the procedure gained from different books I was quite confident but got screened out. After that, I got screened out for 3 more attempts and getting screened in became the ultimate aim.So, I just prepared from books and the internet I got screened in on my 5th attempt(later got conference out) and was thinking myself to be fortunate after getting screened in.3 more attempts later and I got S/0 once and C/O twice. It’s already been 8 attempts and my desire for that + chest no. was still not fulfilled.

A new journey starts here. I came to know about TARGET SSB INTERVIEW  run by  Rajpal Singh Rathore sir who organizes SSB workshops at Gurgaon. Though I was following him on facebook from past 1 year I finally decided to attend the workshop. The way he taught and the way he made me correct the flaws I made in my past 8 attempts explain the real role of a teacher in life.He is no less than a family member.

Current Affairs questions will be from last 5-7 months (for AFCAT, NDA, CDS, TA)

On my 9th attempt on May 28th  I went to 20 SSB Bhopal after clearing CDS  for SSC(NT)-106th course. I got screened in and I was pretty confident about all the tests. Remained positive about the responses I made, the psychology test was good.Being chest no. 1 my interview was scheduled just after the psychology test. The interview went for about 1hour 15 minutes and I made the interviewer smile when I entered the room and also when my interviewer was over. Being a smiling person with the interviewer is all that they want. The GTO tasks were also very good. Participated in all PGT, HGT, FGT, GPE etc. 4 days gone and next day is our conference. They made me wait for 15 minutes before entering the room and BANG.. bombardment of technical, personal and general affairs question that went for 15 minutes.I was not expecting anything because of my previous 8 attempts and was cracking jokes and discussing going home.Jokes apart, I was serious and praying to God to make that situation happen of wearing the + chest no.The officer came with results and after giving the motivational speech he said only 3 of us got recommended. I realized my chance is very less and I was looking on the backside to check who could be those lucky 3. The 1st chest no. he announced was… CHEST NO.1.(other two were chest no.2 and  8) I was like….Dream turning real and The God blessing.(CAN’T EXPLAIN THOSE MAGICAL moments PROPERLY, Apologies for that )I visualized the face of my parents and realized I made them proud, they would feel happy for me.That was what I was looking for since childhood and I got it.I can not explain that situation. I stood up and was into tears.I forgot my roll no. on that very moment. But, those were unforgettable  When I called my father I started crying and told him that their beliefs and blessings made me realize my dream.I called Rajpal sir and told him that what he did to me.I realized the worth of continuous learning and putting the best even if we fail. All that I learn and the experience that I gathered didn’t go in vain.ssb candidate

Very next day, our medical started and continued for 5 days.I was declared medically fit.

On this August 7th  I again went to 34SSB Allahabad for TGC-126 where I was free of tension.Being previously recommended I didn’t have any fear of not getting recommended. Did well in psychology and the interview went on for only 20-25 miutes. In GTO, the officer made the Command Task quite tough, though it was easy he made several changes during the task making the difficulty level to 9/10 from 5/10. In the interview, the officer was not totally satisfied with some of the answers so he asked me to prepare those and he will ask me in the conference. During conference, they asked those questions and that went for about 5 minutes. So, out of 155 candidates, only 26 of them screened in.When the officer came with the results and asked us to be ready with roll no. and name. The first chest no. he called was chest no. 17 and yes, that chest no.was me, SUDIPTO CHATTERJEE.. only 1 guy was recommended from that batch and that was me. 2nd recommendation in my bag. I was again declared medically fit.

I would like to thank my Maa, Baba and all my family members for their love, blessings and the proper upbringing that allowed me to be the best.I would also like to thank all my friends who believed in me and continued encouraging me ever since I started my journey. And yes, Rajpal sir you are the reason that I followed the proper path and never made mistakes after getting the mentorship from you.GURU HO TO AAPKE JAISA HO WARNA NA HO.

I will join the prestigious OFFICERS’ TRAINING ACADEMY this October and will shift to the elite INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY by January 2018 after the declaration of merit lists.

ALL 10 ATTEMPTS FOR ARMY,5 S/0,3 C/O AND 2 recommendations in a row. What can I expect more than this?

Only one thing that I want to say to all the defense aspirants that have faith on the selection process and continue putting the efforts to achieve what u want.U will realize the miracle happening.

AFCAT 2 2017 Paper Analysis By Indus Academy

AFCAT 2 2017 Paper Analysis By Indus Academy

More than 1.5 lakh candidates appeared for Air Force Common Aptitude Test (AFCAT)  exam conducted by Indian Air Force across 62 centres nationwide  held for to fill up the vacancies in ofofficer forlying duty, Technical duty and Ground duty . AFCAT exam is conducted twice a year in which both Engineering and Non-Engineering graduates are eligible for officer entry.

While Candidates  aspiring for Ground duty and flying duty had to appear for The two hour duration AFCAT  paper consisting 100 questions consisting of English , quantitative aptitude , verbal and non verbal reasoning along with general knowledge; Engineering Graduates aspiring for Technical duty had to appear additionally for 45 minutes  EKT (Engineering knowledge Test) paper consisting of 50 questions .  Each question carried 3 marks , along with one-third  negative marking .

Analyzing the AFCAT Paper,  Chandigarh based  Indus academics UPSC Exam Expert Kunal Singh said – “With conventional pattern in mathematics and GK  followed by hiccups in English  and reasoning section, many aspirants found paper quite heterogeneous yet moderate and scoring  in nature  . we need to keep in mind that AFCAT is not conducted by UPSc hence toughness level stands nowhere in comparison to CDSE/NDA exams.

GK Section Analysis:

The Paper portrayed similar pattern as per the  trend of last 4 years. Clearly we found that  General knowledge questions were more “trivial, factual and memory based” instead of being “Current Affairs” which included facts on Grasslands ,capitals , organizations and reserves  which are commonly asked   questions in Sainik school /SSC entrance exams. In fact  GK section was a cakewalk for those who generally prepare for SSC or Territorial Army exams. It was quite disappointing to note that AIR FORCE board conducting recruitment for Air force officers hardly stressed on questions based on Indian Defence.”

English /Mathematics/reasoning Section:

“ English was comparatively  tough  with competitive vocabulary followed by moderate reasoning and Mathematics section. Proportion of unapproachable questions in English vocabulary sections  has increased than previous year. Although the Mathematics based questions were quite scoring few reasoning based questions were heterogeneous in nature which made them tough in nature. While few questions were standard ,few ones were completely unanswerable with the nature of facts being asked which gives a picture that Air force Board has tried to make it sure that no one scores 100 percent  which is deterrent for hard working  aspirants .“-

Some of the memory based GK questions as asked in AFCAT-II 2017 are:

  1. Lothal is located in which state? Ans: Gujarat (was in news recently)

AFCAT 2 2017 Answers Key [All Questions]

Section-wise question paper analysis of AFCAT 2 2017:

General Awareness:

This section was easy if you follow news and have a good GK. I have asked the same thing to other candidates who attended the exam in the Hyderabad centre (HYD-07, CMRTC) and most of them had the same deduction that keeping up with current affairs and reading newspapers will make it easier to crack the general awareness section.

Verbal Ability in English:

The same thing goes here too, read – magazines, newspapers, editorial, etc. The explanation is, it keeps you up to date, brushes up you GK, improves your reading skills and surely helps with the antonyms and synonyms. So, about 20 questions (and 60 marks) go here itself.

Numerical Ability:

For the major part, I have skipped the maths section. I was under tremendous pressure and was unable to concentrate properly (they were not allowing for washrooms, you see). Pro Tip: Before taking the exam, do attend washroom and do not drink water, or any other fluid for that matters. On a serious note, the numerical ability was also easy as it comprised of the syllabus from the elementary school maths and a bit from 11thand 12th.

Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test section:

This section judges the verbal skills and spatial ability of the candidate. This is the skill that you can’t develop in a day or two. It requires daily practice and logical problem solving skills applied in daily life.

EKT:

I have also attended the EKT paper for Computer Science stream and I found that a bit difficult. But taking the fact that I attempted the paper with no preparations, had I brushed up a few of my engineering subjects, it would also have been easier for me.

Concluding, I can say that AFCAT is easier to crack than CDSE and NDA exams. Add that with dedicated preparations and passion, voila, there is your SSB call letter!
