8 Things You Should Know About Odd Even Rule In Delhi

0
ODD EVEN rule

Paris summit has led several nations to bring down the pollution level in the future by bringing some changes in current industrialization and energy usage frame. INDC (Intended Nationally Determined Contribution) committed by India before the Paris summit was a blueprint of what India is playing to contribute in global mission to deter pollution and shielding ongoing nature’s deterioration. In India, the major work to be done is in metro cities and mostly in Delhi. Previously the circulation of CNG fuelled vehicles and implementation of the Bharat Stage IV was a step to curb pollution. With the increase in pollution level, Delhi government gave the green signal to Delhi’s new pattern of odd even pattern to bring the pollution level down. Now here we are having some key points of this rule that SSB aspirants need to know

  1. It is a trail of this rule – The new odd, even rule began in Delhi from the commencement of the New Year on a trial basis for 15 days. According to the rule, odd numbered cars will run on odd dates and even numbered cars will run on even dates.
  2. Relaxations in timing – The rule will be active between 8 am to 8 pm and Sundays are exempted from this rule.
  3. Legal exemption – 25 categories have been exempted from this rule which include women accompanied with children of age below 12 years, two-wheelers, CNG vehicles, VIP’s vehicles and convoys, medical vehicles in emergencies. The Delhi high court has shown its concern over the exemption of women and two-wheeler from the rule. Delhi CM and legislator are not exempted from the rule.ODD EVEN rule
  4. Exceptions by WILL – US embassy and Justice Thakur were exempted from this rule. But they showed interest in following the rule and told that they will follow it.
  5. Fine– Rule breaker has to pay a fine of Rs. 2000. Parking may be denied for violators and their vehicles may be towed.
  6. Support framework – Delhi government has started a website and helplines for people if they encounter any problem with odd even rule. The helpline is 011-42400400 and 011- 41400400 and the website is ‘odd-even.com’.
  7. Kids to compromise studies for 15 days – Schools were instructed to stay closed till 15 January so that school buses can be used for public transport.
  8. Additional support to commuters – Delhi government has arranged 3000 more public vehicles on the roads to provide sufficient transport service to public. Delhi metro has also decided to increase its service to manage the burden of commuters.

A Missile Dominated End Of 2015

0
Indian Missiles

Last year was a bit lucky for defence from manufacturing to the acquisition. The end of 2015 seems to be a missile dominated year for Indian defence service. Indian defence manufacturing is going up with both indigenously (Dhanush, Agni) and in foreign cooperation also (Barak-8, Brahmos). As the AFCAT interviews are approaching and NDA result has been declared recently, all SSB aspirants are required to be aware of the major missile tests that was done at the end of last year. Some other defence development like submarines, ships, military weapons, etc. that took place last year will be discussed shortly.

Agni IV – Another hit on the target was done when Agni-IV missile was successfully test fired. The nuclear-capable strategic ballistic missile has the range of 4000 kms. The missile has its own navigation system, which is made with jam proof capability. The sources also revealed that the missile is made with the capability to correct its path during inflight disturbances. Ring laser gyro-based inertial navigation system (RINS) and micro-navigation system (MINGS) ensures its accuracy towards the target. It also has a feature of re-entry heat shield that helps it to bear high temperature of 4,000 degree Celsius and maintaining the internal temperature below 50 degree Celsius. Upcoming version of Agni (Agni V) is awaited with more specification and diverse strike range.

Download:

Dhanush missile – Dhanush missile was tested which is a nuclear capable ballistic missile. The missile was tested from INS Subhadra in Bay of Bengal checking its surface to surface targeting trait. It is a naval version of Prithvi missile and is capable of hitting land or sea targets. The missile has a strike range of 350 kms and can carry a pay load of 300 kg. India’s DRDO has manufactured both the missiles i.e. Prithvi and Dhanush missile.

Interceptor missile – In the mid of November, last year, India successfully test fired indigenously developed interceptor missile. The missiles specialised in shielding any ballistic missile. Nick named as Advanced Air Defence missile, it is equipped with navigation system and is a solid rocket propelled guided missile. The first phase of missile can neutralize the threats in range of 2000 km, while second stage is for threats out of the range of 2000 km. Indian government is indulged into discussions to deploy missile defence system in major cities to avert air threats.

Brahmos – Indian army had tested Brahmos land attack cruise missile in November last year in Pokharan (popular form smiling Budha). The missile was launched by mobile autonomous launcher (MAL) and was done under experienced army personals. The missile is a joint project of Indian and Russia and 3 regiments of Brahmos have been inducted in the Indian army.

Barak- VIII missile – In a boost to the security scenario of India, Indian navy successfully test fired Barak-VIII missile from INS Kolkata. The missile was developed by joint efforts of India and Israel. Along with missile, the system Multi-Functional Surveillance and Threat Alert Radar (MF STAR) was also tested, which has the responsibility of detecting, targeting and guiding the missile over its path. This radar can detect any threat in range of 250 km. The missile is developed for naval vessels to avert any sky born threat. The missile is nick named as LR-SAM which means long range-surface to air missile. The missile will enhance the capability of navy to secure Indian seas.

6 Ways Used By SSB Interviewing Officer To Catch A Liar

0
SSB Personal Interview

We all know the importance of the personal interview in SSB and how it decides your result in the conference, most of the candidates take personal interviews lightly thinking of it as a normal chit chat and under this impression they underperform or make mistakes which degrade their performance. One of the biggest mistakes during a personal interview is speaking lies. As per a study “About 4% of people are accomplished liars and they can do it well,” rest all of them can be caught easily by the interviewing officer using these methods.

1. By Finding Inconsistencies In Your Answers: “When you want to know if someone is lying, look for inconsistencies in what they are saying”. Candidates who lie make inconsistent statements without even realizing it.

2. By asking unexpected questions: Many candidates face unexpected and uncomfortable questions that test whether they lie or not. A real-life example from SSB: A candidate faced three unexpected questions back to back just to test his honesty, these questions are simple and anyone from the answers can decide whether the candidate was lying or not, this question was asked to a person working in a film production industry. 1. Do you drink? (Answer: No), 2. Do you smoke? (Answer: No), 3. Have you ever seen an adult movie? (Answer: Yes). Can you tell why this candidate was not lying or did not try to manipulate his/her answers when faced straight forward questions?

Screening Test Day 1 of SSB Interview

3. Change in the behavior: Sudden change in the behaviour is noticed by the interviewing officer when someone lies there will be some change in their behaviour which is easily caught by the IO and then he asks counter questions, which sometimes make the situation worse for the candidate.

OIR Test eBook SSBCrack

4. Look for fake emotions: You can not fake a smile for a long time and can easily be judged by looking at your lips.

5. Look for the contradictions: IO will always try to find contradictions in your statement and this is done by asking you a similar question again and again with a gap. IO also ask similar questions by twisting it so you don’t know. So it’s always better not to lie.

6. Too many details: Sometimes candidates hide a lie and give too much information which is not required, for example, if a candidate is lying that he was his college cricket team captain, and try to provide extra details which are not asked by the IO may lead to the suspicion.

So now you know these 6 ways, can you lie? NO, because there are multiple ways to find out the same and as we said only 4% of people are good liars and you are not one of them, so try not to lie and take accountability for things you have done in life.

SSB-Recommended-Candidate

As the New Year’s morning is approaching, people find their life hanging on an edge struggling to decide the resolution for the New Year. It is obvious that a hunter has to know his quarry and way to hunt. Preparing for exams, interview experiences and a cry – crowd of the world makes you busy, but before the year rings bell on your doors, decide your resolution and make this year ‘The year of success of your life’. All Armed Force aspirants who are aiming to do it this year need to take resolution which should be something different and dedicated to your ambition.

Utilise every second – Every second is precious. Life teaches lessons in every fraction of time and one should learn those to improve the base of life. There is no perfect time to start anything. The perfect time is when you start haven’t lost any opportunity that time offers you. Learn from every moment and mark it for future. Remember, wasting time is wasting life.

Conquer what you are aiming for – Your aim is the purpose you are breathing for. Make it your life. This year, make your aim a stubborn challenge in your life. This New Year must come with what your soul needs to get completed. Remember, it’s now or never. Gear yourself to take you to a stream where your aim is the ultimate goal and every breath is dedicated to it. Take a resolution that every second offers the opportunity to gear up your life and gives a hand to propel your aim.

Maintain a physically fit body – Not only mental or behavioural resolutions matters in life. A fit body dwells a fit mind and soul. Every Armed Forces aspirant must take resolutions to develop a fit body which is necessary for every upcoming soldier. It’s not necessary to become a body builder but one must make himself fit up to the desired level. This not limited for military aspirants. Everybody must take it as an aim of the upcoming year.

Learn from your failures faced in yesteryear – Every year ends with many failures in life. Some forget these failures, some regrets over them and the soldiers learn from them and from them like a lesson for life. Take resolution that every failure that you have faced in your last year of your life will not be repeated again. It’s not a sin to get failed because the fact is those who fails, achieves.SSB-Recommended-Candidate

Regain liveliness–People have become busy in search peace, to maintain a position in this unbalanced world. The trick to tackle the plight is regain your liveliness. The confidence, joy, freshness that got dissolved in the race of life has to be grabbed again. Make this your resolution and attain what is yours and what you are lacking to reach up to the zenith.

You can do it – If you can dream it, you can achieve it. The only thing required is ‘will’ to harvest your dream and harness your efforts with hard work. There is nothing impossible and nothing is simple. Make strategies, plan your time, mark milestones and target them and time is yours.

Some golden words with depth says

“Only as high as I can reach can I grow.

Only as far as I can seek can I go.

Only as deep as I can look can I see.

Only as much as I can I dream can I be.”

Major Navdeep's Awesome Reply To The Telegraph

Spare Military Casualties from Cynicism: My Response to an oped in The Telegraph

Navdeep Singh: I, for one, am not emotive or touchy when negative articles and opinions are written about our Defence Services. I sincerely feel that the military forces should never be treated so hallowed so as to prevent the citizenry at large from holding a mirror to them, but then the mirror should be held not to shame but to trigger introspection and debate for our common good. This I say since the military, like any other institution, belongs to, and if I may say so, is answerable to the people of this country.

That said, the oped in The Telegraph titled ‘Martyr’s Rites’ published 7th Jan 2015, rankled, nay, hurt me.

Besides stating that Lt Col Niranjan EK of the National Security Guard lost his life due to his ‘stupidity’ (Yes, that was the word used), the opinion piece gets it wrong at many places. First things first. Battle is not mathematics. Nor is it a scientific formula. Battle is gray. Battle is ambiguous. Battle is bad. It seems that the mandatory Statutory Court of Inquiry into Colonel Niranjan’s demise too may not be necessary, now that the editorial team of the paper has reached the conclusion that he was at fault, providing a detailed list of his acts and omissions, and has also declared that the standards of discipline as well as security of the Indian Army have fallen. Further, the editorial has also pronounced the verdict that the ‘booby trap’ planted by the terrorists was ‘simple’.Major Navdeep's Awesome Reply To The Telegraph

The write-up further questions the honour bestowed upon the Late Colonel on his death, forgetting that such honour was not just the done thing in such eventualities but also in many other circumstances, including in certain situations for retired officers, people of eminence and even political personalities. To question whether he ‘deserved’ it, is nauseating, to put it mildly.

Now coming to main issue that I would want to address for clarity of the general reader.

Military operations, the world over, do not just involve bullets and bombs, as perceived by many. Military operations, from start till culmination, involve aspects that are at times invisible, volatile and fickle even for the elements who participate in them. It is redundant even to question whether the Colonel’s death was an operational casualty or not! Of course it was. To put it in simple terms, would he have died if the Pathankot terrorist attack had not taken place? Negative. Recently four of our soldiers died in an avalanche near one of the highest battlefields in the world, was it not an operational casualty? Of course it was. Surely they were not there on a picnic but were deployed for our defence in an operation notified in that area in the Gazette of India. To be killed by a bullet or the vagaries of nature is inconsequential when the task at hand is operational. A soldier falling down a gorge while patrolling in a counter-insurgency operation or an officer dying of cardiac arrest while deployed in one of the coldest battlefields or dying of a snakebite in a trench on the border, are all battle casualties, even as per regulations. So much so that the rules related to monetary benefits to such casualties ordain that even an element of negligence, if any, would not come in the way of such grants.

None could’ve describe it better than the Punjab and Haryana High Court in a case decided in the year 2010 when it recorded that an ‘act of heroism’ was an exaggerated expression and a person need not have his finger on the trigger or hurling a bomb so as to be entitled to benefits and any person who suffers injury, including an accident in an operational area, is a battle casualty. The Delhi High Court, in 2013, also reiterated that all personnel who are present in operational areas and whose aid and assistance is essential and perhaps crucial for success and those who imperil themselves, directly or indirectly, and are in the line of fire during the operations, would be covered under the category of ‘battle casualty’. In any case, for the gallant ones, the line between fearlessness and ‘stupidity’, as the editorial puts it, is pretty thin and breachable, and it is all very well to comment on it while writing a piece on a laptop in one’s room.

Rather than commenting in vacuum that there was lack of discipline on the part of the late officer or that the Army is being reduced to an object of ridicule, we would have been rather fortunate if the oped had set its energy on calling for better equipment for our foot soldiers and restricted itself to the improvement in procedures to prevent such casualties in the future, since after all, what are we going to do with all those Missiles and deterrent hardware which in reality we are never going to employ, if the men and women on the ground go to battle without basic necessities or safety! Instead, The Telegraph indulged in cynicism about the life of a soldier we just lost in a terrorist attack and before the dust in the lives of the families of all those we lost could settle, took the path of tastelessly and insensitively calling out and stating that “an officer like Niranjan should be taken to task even after his death”.

If this is the reaction a military casualty is going to elicit, I wonder where we are headed. But then there is solace in the thought that it was just an opinion.

Army Directs Civilians And Soldier’s Dependents Not To Wear Army-Pattern Uniforms

0
Indian Army uniform

Hello, Warriors. The Army directed the civilians to avoid wearing Army-pattern dresses in the new issued guidelines to prevent terror attacks. Further, shopkeepers were asked not to sell combat cloth, Army uniforms and equipment as it is illegal to do so to unauthorized personnel apart from the military.

The guidelines are to be followed across the country as a result of recent terror attacks at Pathankot Air Base which claimed the lives of seven security personnel.

Also, private security agencies, police and other central forces are not to wear combat-pattern dresses as it is not authorized to them and leads to false alarms.

All traders and shopkeepers interested in selling Army uniforms may approach the local military authority and request for shops in units/cantonments approved areas/shops.

Also, the relatives of armed forces personnel and ex servicemen were requested not to use items of uniform which they may be having as it is illegal too and they could create false reports.

Police and Civil administration have also been asked to check and crackdown on defaulters.

The youth too is exhorted to use social media to spread awareness and start a campaign to prevent misuse of Army uniform and equipment as fashion statement.Indian Army uniform

While during incidents such as in Pathankot, it has resulted in elimination of terrorists, in most cases these have turned out to be misleading and caused inconvenience to the people at large.

Exhorting public to extend support in the fight against terrorism, the Army has asked them to take pledge to co-operate with defence forces by providing information and keeping vigil at local level.

The Army regretted the inconvenience caused but then these operations are inescapable to ensure your safety and security. The Army appealed and requested the public to adhere to the guidelines in national as well as their own interest.

Let, we as defence aspirants pledge that we’ll follow these guidelines religiously to not create any false alarms & chaos and help India fight stronger against terrorism.

I Got Recommended In My 8th Attempt For Indian Army

1
girl ssb recommended from SSB Allahabad

Hello, friends. I am Surbhi Gupta, “Recommended Candidate” for Indian Army in SSC (W) Tech Entry, 17 th course. I got recommended in my 8th attempt from SSB, Selection Centre, Allahabad. I was always attracted towards the olive green uniform with stars on shoulders. My first SSB was in June 2012 at AFSB, Mysore. There, I went with some preparation but got conferenced out. Subsequently, I prepared well but faced multiple rejections from various SSBs despite my efforts to improve my performance in every attempt. Especially if you are a “Repeater”, it is very important to perform really extraordinarily. For this extra ordinary performance one has to really work hard to improve upon many parameters like improving own weaknesses, sharpening Officer Like Qualities (OLQs), general knowledge, communication skills and the most important is to develop ‘can do and never give up’ attitude.

For my 8th attempt, I took training from Brigadier Harish Chande (Retd), who is at Nashik, Maharashtra. He trained me in great details to improve my overall aptitude for the SSB interview, level of intelligence & reasoning, all personality skills, GK & awareness and sharpened my ability to take on each test at the SSB.  He also built up my attitude and values which are vital to emerge as a successful candidate in a group. Brigadier Chande Sir is Ex President of SSB, Director of Recruiting Indian Army, Sr Interviewing Officer, Sr GTO and a member of Psych faculty DIPR, Delhi. He is also a war veteran and has great experience in anti terrorists operations.

I would like to specially advice the candidates to take this scientific training from Brigadier Chande Sir. I can vouch that his guidance, notes and training methods are scientific and extremely effective to qualify in SSB interview. His contact number is 09272225698, Nashik.girl ssb recommended from SSB Allahabad

Then, finally I went for my SSB at Allahabad. Right from the day of screening I performed my best. During all the 5 days I bore in my mind that SSB is a test and loosing focus from your performance would really cost high. I kept all the things taught by Chande Sir in mind and with a very good back up of homework, I was able to emerge as “Recommended” candidate. Now I am looking forward to my pre-commission training. You can ask me any related questions, if you have, at my email id [email protected].

I also want to advise more girls to apply for the excellent job of a class-1 officer in the Indian Armed Forces. Candidates can also refer for education details, various entries and notifications in following sites www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, http://www.indiannavy.gov.in/,   http://www.indianairforce.nic.in/, http://www.indiancoastguard.nic.in/,   www.upsc.gov.in

AFCAT 2017 Maths Tips and Tricks

0
AFCAT Maths 2016

As AFCAT exam is approaching, candidates are facing problems in subjects and topics. Many candidates find it hard to cope up with their respective subjects of problems. Well, maths has been a headache for some people while some people find it a scoring section of AFCAT exam.

First of all, let’s get through the syllabus of numerical ability of AFCAT. This part contains a question related to Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest. Here a thing that emerges is that when the syllabus is short, the type of questions asked can be wide. If we look back on the previous year’s papers, the level of questions is average. Now we will shed light over some tips and tricks that will surely help the candidates to bridge their problem in the math section of AFCAT exams.AFCAT Maths 2016

Clear basics of maths– Some basic thing as repeated every time in maths. So every candidate is required to have complete hold over the basics of maths. Now the question arises that what those basics means. Basics means average, ratios, number system, BODMAS, decimals, etc. everybody is aware of these terms and even guarantee their expertise over these topics. But still when they solve sample questions, they find several types of question which are hard enough to solve.

Short tricks saves time– As maths means speed coupled with accuracy and objective exams don’t need the way candidates solved the question. The only thing required is the correct answer. What it means is using short tricks for candidate’s calculation. Ratios and proportion use a cross to multiply in most of the questions. And if we take example of profit and loss questions, solving these questions by taking CP as 100 is the easiest, effective and most used trick to solve these questions and can help candidates to solve questions easily without putting different questions.

Formulas on tips – As the syllabus of AFCAT is not too wide candidates can easily commemorate the formulas of the topics. If we look at the syllabus of AFCAT, the topic which includes formulas are simple interest and profit and loss. While other topics decimal simplification average percentage ratios and proportion need basics and calculation perfection.

Skip confusing questions – The standard of maths questions in AFCAT is not too hard. But still the race to complete all questions, candidates sometimes got stuck in some question and confused mind consumes more time and still don’t get answered. Don’t struggle to solve it. Skip it and jump to the next question and continue. If candidates find extra time or get a hind about that question, then only pick that question again. And don’t try to attempt those questions in which you are not sure because negative marking can reduce your score.

Solve sample papers – Practice is the key and rough work is the way to get hold in maths. Formulas can never alone make candidates to solve all kinds of questions. So what candidates need is to practice. Candidates can go through AFCAT previous years question papers from SSBcrack link given below. Or candidates can opt other books for AFCAT from different publications like Arihant, Upkar etc…. Practice hard, and paperwork is most in maths.

Meet Garud Commando Sailesh Gaur, Took 6 Bullets Kept On Fighting For An Hour During Pathankot Attack

0
Garud Commando Sailesh Gaur

The calendar had just turned – it was the early hours of January 2. A helicopter with thermal imagers was getting ready to take-off and scan the Pathankot Air Base based on an alert that the high-value military asset was to be targeted by terrorists.

Within a few minutes of being air borne, the thermal imagers beamed down images of four suspects. They were first spotted in the dense jungle at the rear of the Mechanical Transport Area in the 2000-acre compound. Roughly 45 minutes later, the Mi-35 attack helicopter that was flying over the base with thermal sensors would beam back pictures to ground which showed the terrorist had moved just a few meters from their earlier location – to store huts of the Mechanical Transport base.Garud Commando Sailesh Gaur

Gursevak took cover behind a heavy earth-mover along with his buddy even as they made first contact. Gursevak took three bullets, but kept fighting.

Seeing Gursevak down, Sailesh and Katal – the second team – moved in quickly using Israel-made rifles and machine guns to return the terrorists’ fire. Then, Sailesh was hit – more than half a dozen bullets in his lower abdomen. Bleeding profusely, he didn’t abandon his post and, with buddy Katal, kept the operation going for nearly an hour, while they waited for  back- up and replenishment.garud commando 1933923_1087339487983816_2845053095281501898_n 1937092_1087339481317150_3594591470780456129_n

The terrorists then managed to sneak out of the Mechanical Transport area, but were stopped from reaching the technical area  – where they could have damaged the fighter jets and attack helicopters that are crucial for the Air Force.

The operation to eliminate them lasted nearly 80 hours and martyred seven military personnel and injured 20 – including Sailesh.

He was evacuated three hours after being pummelled with bullets to the hospital just outside the base. The 24 year-old from Ambala is now fighting for his life.

“They were moving slowly, to avoid any detection,” a senior IAF official told NDTV.

At about 3 am, 12 Garud Commandos were deployed. Three teams of “buddy” pairs were deployed outside the Mechanical Transport Wing to prevent the suspects from moving. Another three pairs of commandos were asked to launch the attack on the Pakistanis.
