Siachen – Highest And Toughest Battlefield

Recently, Lance Naik Hanumanthappa has raised the Siachen topic in entire media and also in the form of questions and discussion. Aspirants need to be completely aware of this part of India, which is guarded by Indian armed forces. The importance, operation for occupying it and some major problems faced by the soldiers in that area are discussed below. Candidates are advised to go through it to clear some basics of it and stay ready for related questions in SSB personal interviews and GD.

Firstly, the incident that recently took place in Siachen needs to be clarified. The avalanche buried 10 soldiers out of which, 1 was a JCO and 9 other were ORs (other ranks). The soldiers belong to Madras Regiment and the incident took place near The Line of Control at an altitude of 19,600 feet where the temperature usually remains about -45 degree Celsius. The operation is currently going on and the rescue is in full swing. The Army has to cut off about 40-feet deep snow layer to track the bodies. Lance Naik HanumanThapa has been recovered alive and is currently going through the medical treatment in New Delhi.

Importance of Siachen in India

Siachen plays an important role in Indian geography. It is the location present in the Karakoram Range. Geographically, it is the starting point of Nubra River. It is a triangular part that touches Pakistan occupied Kashmir from left and china in right side. It is also named as the highest battlefield in the world. India is promoting mountaineering expedition for civilians as well as foreigners in order to maintain claim over the territory.

Operation Meghdoot

This operation is closely related to the Siachen which aims at occupying and capturing Siachen glacier. The operation was conducted by Indian armed forces in 1984. It was the assault launched in the highest battlefield in the world to secure it from Pakistan. The actual matter stared when Pakistan permitted mountaineering expeditions in this area in 1970s to claim the area. Indian army took action in 1978 soon as it got a clear image of the motives of Pakistan. Kumaon Regiment of the Indian army, along with Indian Air Force, reached the glacier in 1984, accelerating operation Meghdoot. Indian armed forces occupied most of the posts in a week, marking the milestone in the history.

Problems faced by soldiers in Siachen

Frostbite; when the skin touches any metal on that high altitude, it sticks to the metal. It is trouble making thing that is usually faced by the soldier deployed at that altitude. The steep heights and non-vehicular terrains are also faced by the soldiers. Even the toothpaste gets freezes in the tube. As per the sources, arid conditions in that high altitude claim more lives than security activities. Some other health related problems faced by soldiers during acute weather conditions are pneumonia, kidney and heart failure, lungs and pancreases may not function properly. Hypothermia is the major cause of death during snow trapping. Soldiers deployed in that areas spends most of their time in training themselves for that terrain. Except this, avalanche and snow storms are casually reported in the area.

Conclusion

Indian armed forces play crucial role in securing not only the borders, but also the dignity of the nation. It never matters, what kind of terrain is to be guarded. Motivation and sense of nationality drives every soldier to secure motherland, irrespective of the cost of their lives.

9 Frequently Asked Questions In Personal Interview

Personal Interview in SSB takes time from half an hour to 2 hours (sometimes) has a wide range of questions, rapid-fire, probing questions etc. Some questions are generally asked of most of the candidates. Some of them are mentioned below.

Download eBooks:

  1. Your contribution at homeThis is a most common and diverse question that has a lot and is genuine to speak. What actually do and contribute to in-home activities. Don’t feel shy here. You can say about helping mother in washing clothes, dusting, paying bills, etc., but stay ready for further cross-questions.
  2. Fluctuation is marks – 90% of the candidates are prone to this question. The ups and downs in marks obtained in 10th, 12th, and graduation or any other course is generally asked in personal interviews. A specific reason is always there behind fall or hike in marks. Mention it and honestly.
  3. Your friends and family – To review and decide your company, candidates are mostly asked about their friends. The basic questions are; tell me something about your friends, who is your best friend and whom you don’t like, the qualities of your friends etc… Similarly, if IO asks specific questions about your family then just answer to these questions and if asked about family then reply to what is mentioned in the PIQ form. To avoid contradiction or counterfeit replies, give genuine answers and stay on your ground.
  4. Why do you want to join The Armed Forces? – This question is asked when a candidate seems to be in a conflicting mood toward his career. Your family background, relations with armed force personnel, adventure interest, facilities, and job security can be a part of your reply.
  5. Management of salary or pocket money – When it comes to money matters, a person is always accessed deeply. This question is asked to check management and correct use of money at the correct place. NDA and TES candidates are rarely asked about this question, but CDS, SSC, and AFCAT candidates are asked about their money management.
  6. Most interesting test in SSB – To access your observation and performance in psychology and GTO tests. Your observation, keenness, and your reasoning ability are checked through this question. So make sure that your reply will be as per your performance or just specify your average performance in every test to mold the question.
  7. Your activities at SSB – Your friend circle, what you do during off tests timings and your testing schedule are included in this question. Your liveliness, cooperation, punctuality and time management.
  8. Way of introspection and preparation for SSB – Repeaters are more prone to these questions. Your introspection and the way you overcame them show your self-dependent and self-reliant behavior. This question can be asked in another way as; why did you get conference-out or screen-out last time. Freshers are asked about their way of preparation and their resources of preparation
  9. Something about your hometown – Observation is best analyzed by asking candidates about their state or hometown or city of their residence. This question needs to be answered frequently, i.e. history or significance in history, economy, famous personalities, tourist sites, educational facilities, etc. Your reply must be compact and comprehensive as this question has lots more to say, but replying to the point is the best way to reply.

The Armed forces also have some requirements. And a good and efficient mind is their first priority. The tests in SSB are to access the mind, words and actions and psychology is a part that reads the mind. Before practicing the psychology tests, a candidate must get aware of what a psychologist wants from you.

  1. Experience is the ultimate solution – TAT and SRTs are framed to extract the day to day experience, observation ability and perfect use of resources at a given instant of time. TAT is a test that is based on the imagination, but not the irrelevant imagination of hypothetical ideas. The correct way to attempt it is to express your experience in a better and modified way. While attempting SRTs should be practical and response should be as per your personality and condition.
  2. Positivity; an uncompromised quality – Armed forces aspirants must clear one thing that these forces are made to avert the adverse condition. A soldier has to face various kinds of situation and most of them are tough, directionless and filled with problems. Being an officer is the task to lead the group in all those situations. And this can only be attained with a positive mentality. Everything that enters your mind should come out in a positive way. Entire SSB schedule needs this kind of thinking.
  3. Proportional risk and enjoyment – An officer must not hesitate to show bravery and should be able to take and handle risks. Along with this, a happy, enjoying mood and liveliness is also required in an officer. Entirely enjoyment or entirely risk and action in TAT can take you down. So be proportional in happy and risky stories. Revamp your imagination if not as per this type by practicing and making a good and effective story.
  4. Respond to the point – Write what is necessary, writing useless material is a wastage of time. In TAT, keep the story to the point rather than explaining each aspect. Make sure, your story shows work, not appreciations. Similarly, WAT is all about speed and a candidate must write a meaning full sentence. Here also, write what is in your mind and keep the point clear. SRT is the test where straightforwardness in required a lot.
  5. Your mind should be on the pages – SSB accesses mind words and actions of a person. A perfect coordination of these is the base of the selection criteria. So your mentality must be on the pages of psychology tests.
  6. Copied ideas; a trait of looser – Officers sitting there have to access herd of candidates every day. It is very easy for them to segregate the genuine and the copied ideas. Be honest in framing the ideas. As told earlier, different ideas suit different personalities. So avoid copying others ideas. What all they want is your personal observation in day to day situation and your way of handling those situations.

Conclusion – Psychology tests are for reading your previous experience, mental strength and diversity in ideas. What all is needed is to be a normal and average person with a better way to express them. Psychology is deeply linked with the observation. So keep observing your day to day matters and enhance your performance.

6 Ways To Lustre Your Communication Skill

0
Speaking Skills

Communication skill is the thing that occupies crucial space in SSB testing procedure. Sometimes, a candidate misinterprets communication skill with language. Language is the medium of exchange of thoughts while communication skill means the way a person delivers his ideas and view in front of another person. Every job needs some specific qualities, like a sales job needs a good personality, talkative and extremely dissolving person while  banker need to be polite along with good mental (arithmetic) strength. Similarly, Armed Forces also have some requirements in which a candidate must fall to ensure selection. Communication skill is one of those qualities. Observing, implementing and practicing is the best way to learn it. In Most of the tasks and phases of SSB schedule, communication skill has a significant role. Here we are having some ways which will improve your communication skill.

Download eBooks:

  1. Talk in the community – The best way to improve your communication skill is to talk in friends circle, good company, different communities, etc. This will make you learn the ways to talk in various kinds of people and situations.
  2. The mirror is your best companion – Communication skill is driven by confidence. Nervousness is one of the limiting factors of confidence. And the best way to improve the confidence is to practice and improve communication skill in front of a mirror.
  3. Talk to the point and factual – Armed Forces works with time and punctuality is the resource for them. Talking to the point saves time and makes the communication crystal clear. All Armed Forces aspirants have to learn to talk to the point and stay away from talking useless things or being extra friendly in SSB. Speak what is required and speak directly.
  4. Read the newspaper and listen to discussions on news channels – Another way to learn the communication skill is to watch English channels, especially news channels. Watching them affects your way of speaking, correct use of words and sentences and also teaches how to speak English is a better social way.Speaking Skills
  5. Coordinate your mood – Regulating your mood is also a part of communication skill. Correct mood, posture and limb movement lustres the communication. Manage your mood as per requirement. For Example, a straight and blank mood in the interview is a wrong choice. Make a good decision of choosing and coordination moods and actions as per the situation.
  6. Change of language is not a sin – Language is made to exchange views and communication skill is the way you present your views framed in language. The main motto in SSB is to make your views understandable to the assessors. But, as per the instructions, keep English your first preferred language and use Hindi when you are not getting words.  Now the point is, while talking in discussions or in a personal interview, it is a general thing that candidate stuck while speaking in English language. So practice hard for using the Hindi in between when you get stuck. This stuck is named as ‘Mental Blockage’, which is a psychological problem.

Conclusion – Communication skill is the thing that can’t be learnt from books, it gets perfect with practice. Talk in a candid way and to the point with perfect use of gestures and mood. Knowledge can be learned from various books and mediums, but communication skill is learnt from outer world. So aspirants must focus on this skill also apart from the other preparations for SSB.

Download eBooks:

  1. Stick to the PPDT, V-NV instruction – SSB crew has some tricks to fragment out candidate who have learnt blindly and those who have practiced wisely. While the officer speaks out the instruction, candidates must concentrate over them and follow them. Some basic mistakes that candidates normally make, are drawing wrong structures in PPDT, filling wrong info in V-NV tests etc.
  2. Avoid cheating while attempting Verbal non-verbal – Verbal, non-verbal tests (V-NV) are the simple test and the most interesting tests. The booklets are already filled by past candidates and generally candidates follow them. Avoid following those answers. Solve them personally. The questions are very easy and can be solved in a given time. Remember, it is not any competitive test. It is just a test to check your basic aptitude.
  3. Fill in the title, character box compulsorily – Apart from story writing, title and filling up the character structures in the box are also an essential part of PPDT. The basic trick to attempt this part is. – Firstly fill in the characters in the structures as directed by the officer, the start writing the story, ones you get the direction of the story, filling the title before losing time.
  4. Narrate story confidently – Narration is the most important part of PPDT. During discussion, several voices raises, increasing the confidence while in narration, a single person has to narrate eyeing the other candidates. This need prior practice. Some basic rule here to know are keeping the story short and straight, don’t see a particular person, keep watching people around, introductory lines must be narrated as per instructed by the officer.
  5. Discuss rather than shouting – Discussion also needs patience. Now a day it is generally seen that the discussion is conducted by bifurcating the group into two parts to avoid amalgamation of idea and themes. This subgroup consist of 6-9 candidates. Every candidate can sufficiently speak out his views. So have patience, avoid dominating the group, maintain the voice and tone, discuss in a candid way.
  6. Stop imposing your theme, support others – Framing a group story is a tough task. Every mind has a theme revolving inside. But stay calm and make a story that is a mixture of good ideas of candidates rather than discussing and describing your theme. A perfect story is that which has best themes framed and garnished with new and improved ideas.
  7. Stop discussing useless things – Don’t indulge in discussing basic thing or useless things like number of characters, mood sex etc. this need to be concluded in a fraction of time. 7 GTO Rules Every SSB Aspirant Must Know

GTO days are termed as the hardest days of SSB. The main reason is that a candidate has to coordinate his mind and ideas with his body, which makes it a hard nut to crack. Major aspect of GTO is to check and analyse the actions of a candidate with respect to his psychology. Here also, discipline and rules are to be followed. Some basic rule to follow while attempting the GTO tasks are given below which will help the candidates to eradicate mistakes and go through the tasks easily.

Download eBooks:

  1. Obey the rule – The first rule that every SSB aspirant must know is to follow the rules stated by the assessors. Stick to the rule and follow them. Some rules are basic rules like line rule (ground tasks), Voice rule (GD) etc. while some need a bit focus like Group rule. Rules must always revolve in your mind.
  2. Limit your senses – Over-responding or introvert nature depicts unstable behaviour. Don’t speak or act more and never stay calm all the time. Be an optimum speaker along with acting to limit. Give chance to other in speaking and attempting ground tasks. Support other’s plan if found relevant and easier. Opting others plan shows cooperative nature. Help them in arranging the plan. If someone seems to be an introvert in GD, give them a chance to speak up their ideas or views. The candidate should say what is necessary to speak. Speaking unwanted things or speaking at the wrong time is a waste.
  3. Don’t leave anything undone– Ground tasks need rule embedded nature as well as an open and active mind to arrange material and making a plan. Along with this, it is also necessary to complete the task. When the group is with you (PGT, HGT etc.) plans comes out automatically. But when you are alone to take a decision (individual task, command task), you have to complete the task ones you begins the task. Giving up should never be an option. This point is also applicable in GD. When you start your comment, complete it and also remember to not to interfere in someone’s comment until he is done.
  4. Don’t see assessors – Strictly advised. Don’t see assessors while doing any tasks in GTO. Concentrate on the task and don’t bother about what officer is observing or writing. Many candidates try to see assessors while discussing or while performing ground task. This shows lack of focus and confidence. Concentrate on your tasks and focus on new ideas and points to get the group to you.
  5. First listen, then act–Whenever you are briefed about the next task, listen it carefully. Whether you are a fresher or repeater, listen it and make a mind map of it. Sometimes the solution of the tasks is hidden in the instructions and following the instruction shows your discipline and working in instruction circles. An officer is one who not only keeps the troops in discipline, but also follows the same rule.
  6. The group is the soul – The group which you have got for GTO is your responsibility. While performing ground task, make sure that entire group moves in a parallel way. Moving individually is non-cooperative. Your ultimate aim must be to take the group to the other side by arranging and giving plans. Victory of your group is your victory.
  7. Keep calm and avoid differences– The group has candidates with various moods and behaviours, so it will be better to stay away from conflicts and differences. Cooperate and support everybody and keep the mind calm and cool.

Conclusion

The two days of GTO are very important from the point of physical strength coupled with mental strength. Candidates are advised to synthesize their ideas, views and plan and implement them in limits. Excess or deficiency of requisite qualities may reduce selection chances.

5 Problems Faced By Repeaters

0
5 Problems Faced By SSB Repeaters

Selection procedure of SSB depends on mental ability and performance. It is always said that freshers have more chances of selection as compared to the repeaters. Every entry is made for an age group which have candidates of a specific age group that aims to select candidate on their performance which is proportional to their age. An SSC tech candidate can’t be accessed with an NDA candidate. Apart from this, SSB has another grouping scheme to make the selection procedure form transparent and justified. The batch is fragmented into some specific groups based on the SSB attempts history. The categories are freshers, screen outs, repeaters and recommended. Repeaters and recommended candidates are mixed following batch adjustment. These groups face the most competitive environment during the selection schedule. Here we are having some problems that every repeater faces while attending SSB.

Download eBooks:

  1. Previous attempt’s probing – Repeaters generally have to face questions regarding their previous attempts. The questions may be short if the candidate has a short history but candidates with a long history behind have to stay alert from the questions during personal interview. The questions normally faced are related to the cause of failure in last attempt or all previously attempted SSBs, the way you have introspected and what was the possible outcome of that introspection. And your efforts to overcome those shortcomings. In most of the cases, counter questioning is done while candidate is answering these questions.
  2. Higher expectations – Being a repeater means an experienced person. Once the rules and SSB events and techniques are known to you, the SSB crew expect more from you. From enhanced performance to the rule-adhering quality, they want you to make no mistake. One you have experienced the SSB schedule, you enters the category where the crew expects more from you.
  3. High competition – Being experienced, repeaters face tough competition. This is the reason why SSB panel divides the batch in groups. The groups are divided on the basis of experience of the candidates. The selection rate amongst the repeaters in high due to the competition that goes a bit high as compared to the fresher’s.5 Problems Faced By SSB Repeaters
  4. Instability in mind and mood – Being a repeater and an experienced, the generally happens that candidates feel instability and mood and tries to do what they hear from other candidates and get into a trap. Stop following rumours and myths. Be yourself and do what you actually do.
  5. Over-performance – In the field of competition, repeaters aims at defeating others rather than focusing on their own victory. This thing normally stays in unstable mind. You should concentrate on what you have to do. Drive and judge your performance, make your aim to win and get recommended. Limit your performance in the boundary and perform it.

Conclusion

Repeaters have to prepare hard and pay attention to the next SSB. The expectations are high and relative competition level is tremendously high. So being natural and being yourself alone is not sufficient for repeaters to get recommended. Practice is required. It is not a wise decision to appear in any exam without practice. Similarly, appearing in SSB also need preparation.

7 Tricks To Get More Marks In Group Discussion

7 Tricks To Get More Marks In Group Discussion

GTO days are the days known for the physical tasks. But the very beginning of this segment of SSB is Group Discussion where the group has to discuss over a specific topic. The task has two discussions. In the first discussion, candidates are provided 2 topics while the second discussion will have one topic for discussion. Group discussion is among some of the tasks in SSB that can be practiced and following some tips can luster your performance in group discussion.

Download eBooks:

  1. Hand movement in a candid way – When even you are in a group discussion, keep your hands in control. A mild and candid movement is allowed, but strong and interrupting movement marks negative point. Less confident and confusing personality shows such traits. Using hands to overcome the discussion and getting a chance to speak need to be checked.
  2. Raise voice rather than shouting – While discussion goes to a tense point, many candidates lost patience and starts shouting out their points that messes up their point in their voice. Have patience and don’t indulge in what others are doing. Shouting in discussion is better than a bit raised voice to express your point and make it understandable for others.
  3. Maintain politeness – Be polite while discussing and give your point politely to maintain the discussion and make your point understandable to others. Speedy voice, crossing others comments or aggressive mood makes your point useless and affectless.
  4. Listen and reply carefully – A perfect discussion technique is listening to the candidates and replying to it humbly matching the topic of the discussion. Your reply must match the sequence of comments raised by other candidates. Irrelevant or out of topic comment is useless and time wasting.7 Tricks To Get More Marks In Group Discussion
  5. The point should be genuine and bold rather than long – It is observed many times that candidates give long comments and wastes the crucial time of the discussion. Keep the comment short and strong. Remember “It’s better to hit hard then to hit long”. Your idea and logic is preferred over your respective language.
  6. Logical and social knowledge always wins – Bold, logical and knowledge full comments are the base of discussion. Repetition and soulless comments leaves negative impact. Social knowledge and day to day experience with deep self-analysis can construct such personality.
  7. Take initiative to eradicate chaos and providing chances to introverts – Chaos is a common thing in discussions, whether in screening or in GTO. It’s not any awkward thing. Candidates should take initiative to control this chaos and retract the discussion. This shows initiative and motive bounded nature. Another point to check is to give chance to introverts that are passive in the discussion. Break the sequence and give them a chance to share their point and ideas.

Conclusion– From the above-given tips, it is clear that being polite and calm minded is the base of good discussion. Being supportive and cooperative is the way to improve your performance. It is always advised to candidates that they should practice GD in social circles and use to practice English from books, newspapers, digital media, etc.

Living Like A Champion With The Grace Of A Gentleman

Living Like A Champion With The Grace Of A Gentleman

Hello dear viewers. I Sajal roy, previously recommended from Indian Army SSB Short Service Commission Technical Entry-43rd course(With merit, medical rejected) , takes an honor to write to you again. Thank you SSBCRACK for this opportunity. Over my past interaction with lot of ssb aspirants I realized what each one should know and therefore I am writing this lengthy article to be a complete summary for wining all your endeavors. I earlier had the opportunity too to write articles for ssbcrack and I am sure this article will do u good from every aspect .

#Making of the Personality .

  • Now the reason I am enforcing my thoughts into this topic is , that the ssb is a personality test too and therefore I want to suggest some habits by virtue of which it will imbibe optimism, positive self esteem, gratitude etc like qualities inside you.
  • Empathy: The attitude of feeling something by putting ourselves into other person’s shoes. This is of utmost importance when it comes to organizations having a real time environment with team work. So the best way to build it is:

Download eBooks:

Do not try to enforce an opinion from your perspective on some else’s scenario. Try to look at the situation from other person’s point of view. Greet people with that amount of respect that u want to experience with your own self. Whenever someone says something harsh, do not immediately react. Rather respond, as response is always accompanied by a thought, and comprehend as to why the other person behaved in that way. The benefit of imbibing the empathy attitude is during GTO s and group discussion, u can handle the discussion with politeness and manners towards your team mates and in turn it will project a positive image about you. Try it simply from your homes like with parents and siblings. Once an action will take the shape of becoming a habit.

  • Gentleman Hood: This is in turn a very comprehensive word and a very diversified term. Though in simple words it signifies MannerFull Person. Yes being a gentleman is being polite, courteous, understanding, jovial etc. So how to develop them? I personally used to read lot of articles right since 11th standard regarding grooming myself into gentleman. Those days it was one of my most searched articles in google. Anyway the point being it is applicable to both men and women. For building a charismatic personality these are the things that I personally would endorse.1. Be considerate: For example if u see a man or someone in distress, have the courage enough to step up and resolve if there is any issue or any sort of help within your means and capability. Take the initiative. Take the lead.2. Hygiene and grooming:  Yes, do give importance to this. Dressing properly brings in the first attitude . So do it in all regards, be it in college exams or any exam or any such similar occasion . Also, the dressing carries a sense of respect. This doesn’t mean wearing brands but the right code. Like for example, during exams of my college days I preferred formals . So similarly apply the same to your life. Atleast try  it once and feel the difference.

    3. Grow up: We tend to get very much casual with our peers. And it is good too , but too much of it will tend to retard your shooting limits. So u know kinda grow up. Growing up in the sense means giving up the petty habits of criticism , negative talks, gossips on topic that don’t hold any importance and in return that brings headache to you. Maturity is with experience, so certainly participate with an attitude to gain experience, learn and preach.

    4. Make a habit of giving genuine and sincere compliments to anything good that u see. You never know what kind of difference you would have made by doing so. In the growing era of despair , a genuine compliment does make wonders. Start with your family first and then to everyone and everything good that u observe in someone. It can be someone’s speaking skills. It can be someone who has a good knowledgebase of facts. Remember , to appreciate a fellow  is the first great quality of a Leadership.

    5. Believe in hardwork and do spend time doing the work : At times we have certain goals and we are lured by the fantasy. But in the true sense of righteousness, fantasies don’t help much. So u need to stand up and work. Make the first move. Like if it is about the exam, chalk out the syllabus and keep a pen and paper in handy. With a paper at side and pen at hand , even the devil is not able much to distract the mind. Even if u draw marks or line while reading something. You would certainly experience that unknowingly you have been attentive for a huge while.   Similarly for SSBs, we get much lured with the fact that defense is all about cannons and guns and so forth. But we need to work towards getting through the selection process. Also , try your best , not to procrastinate and postpone things for tomorrow.

    6.  Last but not the least certain essential qualities of a gentleman attitude includes being chivalrous, being well behaved with people like butlers gatekeepers and other house keeping stuff,    being a good listener(very important in Group discussions and group planning excercises), being a person of word( Yes ! Try never to break a promise), an attitude to return any favor, remembering people with whom you come across in life, greeting with a smiling face , not involving into petty fights(no blurting out frustrations in GTOs ) , develop extensive reading habits (it will make u deep within) etc.

  • Optimism: This is the most important word. Signifies a large meaning in the broader base. The best and simple way to do so is keeping up the attitude. Even if u fai,l smile, even if u win, smile. Smile attitude scares the highest form of fear. Also , stop being a critic. Look around and always make effort to find the positive in howsoever negative the situation is. Even if it takes to find one fraction of a positive thing, do find it. This is very useful in PPDT, if there is any picture creating negative image make a positive conclusion of it. Appreciate the great governance. In Group discussion , it is easy to criticize but to appreciate it takes great deal. Look around in the internet for facts that how has the country developed and is developing day by day. Remember , whenever u mention something optimistic , it will be always alike as most of the people are interested to criticize. Everyone appreciates a positive conclusion and no one likes naysayers. So optimism is a practice of thinking, practicing and preaching only the positive aspects with smile. Try it from the smallest points in your life , in day to day living and see the huge difference it creates . It will be like watching the world from a different paradigm altogether.
  • Gratitude: Last but not the least this is one of the most important attitude. Attitude out of gratitude. Be thankful for the day, for the hour, for the minute , for the second. The feeling of gratitude brings u more of abundance. So start being thankful for this great life, this great nation, this great family, friends, circumstances whatsoever u can. For this I will suggest a simple practice. Each day before going to bed, write in a journal stating three things that you are grateful for. It can be about any person or any thing that your are grateful for  , like a circumstance too. If something good has happened mention happiness as the thanks giving, if something bad has happened thank the circumstance for it made u tough and taught u a lesson

So I recommend u all to try this gratitude exercise . It makes a huge difference in your day to day thinking.  Try to embrace solitude too as solitude is the best way to discover yourself. I am sure the above habits will somehow make a significant difference to your day to day living . Now coming to the ssb aspectLiving Like A Champion With The Grace Of A Gentleman

#Dealing with the SSB (PPDT, SRT, Group Discussion, Lecture giving, Group task and others)

  • To start with the intelligence test part, this requires just one thing. That is practice of those relevant questions especially non verbal and some more of reasoning types.
  • Coming to the group discussion and ppdt aspect in the screen in test : For ppdt , the mool mantra is , to write something positive, genuine , practical with an eye for a detail. Lets imagine that in the picture a person is walking and there are some buildings at the background. So we must not write that the person is walking and relating a story to it. Write into bit of detailing like; A 25 year old man, on his way from (say home) to (bus stop) or something relative as walking is always with a purpose i.e it can be a morning walk or walking from a source to a destination and therefore needs detailing. So the detailing aspect shows that u r a calm and immediate observer. Try not to write something with a visionary aspect , i.e too much into the imagnitive dimension.
Now coming to the point of group discussion narration. Try begin with a punch when narrating. “Like this picture portrays optimism. In a personal opinion, there is a  (discuss the story here) and conclude with thanks.” Now when it comes to Group discussion try not to start it or rather wait for two or three seconds to see how the beginning is made. The punchline to win a group discussion is with facts and figures. The more facts and figures quoted and relative to the main theme, the higher is the probability that no other person will counter him and will get into agreement to that person. Thus , he/she wins as he/she is able to convince his/her point. Now there will always be a silent zone at times in a group discussion, so take the opportunity and point out to the silent zone members (“ I think we should include some points from our members  this side(pointing to them)”). This kind of attitude will help u win over with a leadership trait . This makes ur team members feel wanted and special.
When discussing the story let it proceed like a discussion but at the end before you are asked to conclude try to conclude with an appreciation that each one has come up with different dimensions of optimism and so a combined theme including everyone’s opinion would be great.
  • After screen in, the PPDT , WAT, SRT etc : for this I would suggest practice writing . Writing with a correct grammar. See when we write a short essay , its better to include more details observed as I mentioned in the previous paragraph. But more importantly it is suggested that there should be a flow in the sequence. In PPDT, if u are describing a character make sure u describe everything about the character in a single go. For example : Rohan is a 25 year old man who hails from (name of place) and is pursuing a career in masters from so and so place. (Depends upon the picture too, I just have a random example) . So when describing describe it completely and don’t include something haphazardly in between . Maintain a proper sequential flow of thoughts and write the conclusion in a good way. Like use lines: “The picturesque gives an inspiring conclusion in regards to”………. For SRTs I would advise, please and please be honest. Do that what you really would have done and don’t write to impress others. Try to be genuine but optimistic. Last but not the least there should be a legible handwriting. WAT is a fast moving game, so write short specific and good sentences. At times for one or two words u can use phrases too. Write positive for negative words too. Like : Death- Death is the moment of farewell to life. And so forth. : Blood- Blood bridges the gap between life and death. So I hope u are getting the picture.
  • For GD and lecture. : See here Is the thing. There are certain basic needs that one should know being a citizen of India. Like current happenings, social sector, education sector, political sector, economic sector. U need not know much, just know them in order to relate to any topic as most of the lecture topics or group discussion topics revolve around them. See being educated is being wise. And a wise person will always be able to convince the rest . Be very gentle in your approach. Treat the group with immense respect. Be generous enough to point and make others speak who are not getting the chance to speak. When the GD is turning out to be a fish market stay silent for a second and then bombard some good lines like, “With due respect to all opinions I personally would like to advocate based on certain facts…………(mention your point of view) ………..please state your opinions and what you all feel about this”. These kind of statements speak a lot about u . So for those 5 days try to be the best gentleman and most well behaved person.
  • For group tasks and all whenever there is a fuss and confusion , and if u happen to find something , then state to the group. “Dear gentlemen , there is something I would to say with all your consent” . Automatically u will see the group getting into a listening position and u will have your say. So u know, do keep your behavior at prime importance and never feel that such efforts go un noticed.
  • For the interview one needs to be abreast with the most recent issues like joint exercise of bilateral nations, hot terror issues, presidents of countries who are in current affairs , technical knowledge (basics) of the subjects, equivalent ranks in the defense forces, insignia, divisions of the defense and latest induction of weapon systems and weapon testing news. Apart from that be very respectful, mannered and have infinite confidence. Allow no one to break it even if u have answered questions wrongly. Look into the eyes of the interviewer, answer each question in a relaxed mind with a smile.

#My personal message to all Aspirants

Thanks for the immense patience for reaching till here. So finally the end of this article. See dear friends, life is too short so set all worries and anxiety aside. Don’t get bothered by any amount of rejection , keep trying. Over the course of time it is true that we get exhausted with efforts, but if there is any single person on earth who is doing the task then u can also do. Apart from that my medical rejection has convinced me that life and destiny are related, luck indeed plays a factor. Even a person who is on a wheel chair is equally patriotic and has the equal desire to tear the skies apart , but alas he/she is struck by luck. So I would say  don’t leave any stone unturned in life. Presently I am 23 year old and this year I l be writing all sorts of exams including Central Armed Police forces (CAPF), Civil services etc. Keep trying and keep trying. Competition is with you as to how better are you today from yesterday. Even if there is a slight increment , cherish it and be thankful. If at your first attempt u got screened out and in the next conference out then do cherish that increment too. Be a great human and believe to share. Do preach what u know , its really a great feeling to mentor others. Remember , never feel insecured to share as no one can take away you from you.  Last but not the least love your nation. This is a great country , where always at the end of the day we stand united. It even takes goosebumps to imagine how hard it was to establish the constitution and the country. So much time and efforts have resulted this great nation. Always appreciate and spend your time finding the best in everything you see. Spend your time searching in the internet as to what are the various developments taking place and dwell on them. Each and every government servant is a pillar to the nation. The civilians being the taxpayers form an incredible and indirect part of this development too.Try participating in all type of activities and contests. Be abreast with current affairs from sources like www.gktoday.in  and https://nirdeshak.com/  .

And as a suggestion keep daily short term goals , start with just one goal like covering so and so aspect of the study and all. Then increment it to higher number of goals. As and when u accomplish the goal reward yourself and congratulate yourself. Remember, paper and pen would be your best friends to avoid any distraction and also during introspection. Try exploring people out, know about them . Most of time you will observe folks beating their own self trumpets . Instead be at ground 0 and explore the other person. U would love to see the different dimensions of an individual.  So with this I take my leave and wish u all the best for not just SSB but all sorts of endeavors in your life.

ALL THE BEST
