Candidates are to ensure their eligibility for the examination, as follows:-

  • Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination viz. Written examination and SSB test will be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the written examination or AFSB Testing, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature will be cancelled by the IAF.

AFCAT 1 2021 Exam Age Limits

  • Flying

Age – Flying Branch. 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2002. (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification

–    A graduate candidate with minimum 60% marks and must have scored minimum 60%marks in Maths and Physics in 10+2 in 12th standard.

–    B.Tech/ B.E candidates who have scored minimum 60% marks and have scored 60% marks in maths and physics in 10+2 in 12th standard are also eligible for it.

  • Ground Duty Technical

Age – 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification – The candidate must have B.Tech/ B.E degree in notified streams as mentioned in the official notification of the IAF with minimum 60% marks and have scored minimum 60% marks in Physics and Maths in 10+2 standard are eligible for technical entry.

  • Ground Duty Non-Technical

Age – 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1996 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification –

  • Administration and Logistics – Graduation degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Accounts – B.Com Degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Education – Post graduate degree (MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International Studies / Defence Studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT /Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation) with minimum 50% marks, along with minimum 60% marks in graduation.

AFCAT 1 2021 Selection Procedure

  • Indian airforce will conduct the AFCAT online exam across the country at different test centers. AFCAT 1 2021 online exam will be conducted in Feb 2021.
  • IAF will publish the results of AFCAT 1 2021 in April 2021 and candidates will be able to check their marks, cut off marks etc on the official portal i.e. afcat.cdac.in
  • Selected candidates have to choose their AFSB interview venue and date on the same portal.
  • The screening test is the first stage of the interview, which consists of verbal, nonverbal tests and a PPDT test. The selected candidates will stay at the centres for further selection tests and those who could not qualify it, would be set free on the same day.
  • The next stage consists of a personal interview, Psychology and GTO tests, PABT (for flying only), on the last day conference will be conducted after which, the final result is announced. The selected candidates are sent for medical examination.

Standard of AFCAT 2021 Question Paper:

  • The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University).
  • The Online examination will consist of objective type questions and will be in English only for both AFCAT and EKT

AFCAT 2021 Marking Scheme

  • Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • No marks for unattempted questions.

Questions will be based on the metric system of Weights & Measures wherever applicable. Candidates must appear for the Online AFCAT in person. Under no circumstance will any scribe or another candidate be allowed to appear/ assist in the exam. Air Force has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.

Indian Naval Academy POP 28 Nov 2020

In a spectacular Passing out Parade (POP) held at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, on Saturday, 28 November 2020, 164 trainees comprising Midshipmen (99th INAC and INAC-NDA), Cadets of the Indian Navy (30th Naval Orientation Course Extended) and two International trainees from Sri Lanka Navy passed out with flying colours, marking the culmination of their ab-initio training.

The parade was reviewed by General Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff, who awarded medals to meritorious Midshipmen and Cadets on completion of the Ceremonial Review. Vice Admiral M A Hampiholi, AVSM, NM, Commandant, INA was the Conducting Officer.

The ‘President’s Gold Medal’ for the Indian Naval Academy B. Tech course was awarded to Midshipman Ankush Dwivedi. The ‘Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medal’ for the Naval Orientation Course (Extended) was awarded to Cadet Cedric Cyril. The other medal winners were as follows: –

  1. CNS Silver medal for INAC B. Tech Course -Midshipman Harshil Kerni
  2. FOC-in-C South Bronze Medal for INAC B. Tech Course-Midshipman Jesin Alex

The successful trainees marched with their gleaming swords and rifles held in salute, past the Academy’s Quarterdeck, in Slow March, to the traditional notes of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ – the poignant farewell tune played by Armed Forces around the world when bidding adieu to colleagues and comrades, for their ‘Antim Pag’ or final step at the Indian Naval Academy.

General Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff congratulated the cadets on parade for their impeccable turn out, smart drill and movements on parade. He reemphasised the Core values of Duty, Honour and Courage. The Reviewing Officer complimented the Instructors at INA for having moulded raw young boys into fine young officers.

The Reviewing Officer and other dignitaries shipped the stripes of the passing out trainees and congratulated them for their successful completion of the rigorous training. These officers will proceed to various Naval ships and establishments to further consolidate their training in specialised fields. Stringent precautionary measures instituted by the academy has helped in accomplishing the challenging goal of training about 800 cadets during COVID-19 and successful culmination of the Autumn Term 2020 at INA.

AFCAT is one of the most famous defence exams that is attempted by almost every defence aspirant. Indian Air Force has published the notification AFCAT 1 2021 today and in this article, you can find some important details related to AFCAT 1 2021 notification. Online applications are invited for the courses commencing in JANUARY 2022 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Type of Commission:

  • PC for Men: Candidates joining as PC officers would continue to serve till the age of superannuation as per their branch and rank.
  • SSC for Men & Women: The engagement period for Flying Branch SSC officers is fourteen years from the date of Commissioning (Non extendable). The initial tenure for SSC officers in Ground Duty (Tech and Non-Tech) branches would be for a period of ten years. An extension of four years may be granted subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit. Grant of Permanent Commission (PC) would be considered during the last one year of service subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit.

Age:

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2022 i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2002 (both dates inclusive). PAN Card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy. Aadhaar Card is mandatory for registration.

Indian Navy’s MiG-29K Crashes, One Pilot Rescued, Another Missing

The Indian Navy said on Friday that a MiG-29K trainer aircraft, which was operating in the Arabian sea, crashed at around 5 pm on Thursday. While one pilot has been rescued, a search operation has been launched for the second pilot who has been missing since last evening. The search operation is in progress by air and surface units, the Indian Navy said and went on to add that an inquiry has been ordered to investigate the crash of MiG-29K trainer aircraft.

“A MiG-29K trainer aircraft operating at sea ditched at about 1700 hrs on 26 Nov 20. One pilot has been recovered and search by air and surface units is in progress for the second pilot. An inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident,” the Indian Navy said in a statement.

MiG-29 aircraft operate from aircraft carrier INS ‘Vikramaditya’. In the recently concluded Malabar exercise, where navies of India, USA, Australia and Japan participated, MiG-29s were seen in action.

Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala will hold its Passing out Parade (POP) for Autumn Term 2020 on Saturday, 28 November 2020. General Manoj Mukund Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Army Staff will be the Reviewing Officer for the Passing Out Parade on 28 Nov 20. The POP will be conducted without the presence of parents and guests of trainees, considering the precautions to be followed during COVID-19 crisis.

Trainees comprising Midshipmen of 99th Indian Naval Academy Course (B.Tech and MSc) and Cadets of 30th  Naval Orientation Course (Extended) will pass out as Officers on successful completion of their ab-initio training. Two trainees of the Sri Lanka Navy will also pass out this term. Trainees of Indian Naval Academy’s four years B.Tech degree course will be awarded their degrees by Vice Admiral M A Hampiholi, AVSM, NM, Commandant, INA during the convocation ceremony on 27 November 2020.

The passing out courses were administered the Oath of Allegiance by Rear Admiral Tarun Sobti, VSM, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, INA on 25 November 2020. To commemorate the sacrifices of the brave soldiers of the country, a Wreath Laying Ceremony was conducted at the War Memorial “Prerna Sthal” of INA on 25 November 2020.

He informed to his family members that he got job as Major in Indian Army and they believed his words. To believe him as an Army officer, he procured Army ID Card on the name of M.S. Chauhan, purchased Army dress, caps, shoes, monograms, Award badges, Toy pistols, etc and got photos by wearing Indian Army Dress posted his passport size photos in Army Uniform in social media. He studied upto 9th Class, and then obtained distance education certificates upto Post-Graduation. In the year 2002 he got married with Amrutha Devi (Superintendent in DMHO, Guntur) and his son M. Nikhil Singh Chowhan is studying Intermediate 2nd Year. He obtained fake education certificate of M.Tech (Environmental Engineering) of CMJ University, Meghalaya.

He is impersonating as Major in Indian Army, introducing himself as graduate from National Defence Academy, Pune, Maharashtra State and working as Major in Indian Army, Hyderabad Range. He poses himself as un married person and working as Major in Indian Army, with the help of marriage Bureau he cheated nearly 17 persons on false promises to marry various persons and collected nearly Rs 6,61,02,000/- (Six crore sixty-one lakh two thousand rupees).

11 Fake Army Men Arrested In Guwahati

Eleven people were Tuesday arrested in Guwahati after they were found impersonating Indian Air Force personnel near the airport. The men were found on Monday night moving around near the Guwahati airport, dressed in full military fatigues. Police on duty in the area got suspicious and apprehended them. On interrogation, it was found that the men possessed fake identity cards of the IAF.

“One of the eleven men, DK Goswami, is the main accused. He manipulated the other 10 persons and made them believe they were being recruited for the Army. Some of the men in the team are his relatives,”

The pipping ceremony of three Vietnamese Gentleman Cadets (GCs) was held in advance before the scheduled passing out parade of autumn term in December, at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on Wednesday, said an IMA official.

The ceremony in which the cadets get their rank stars on their shoulders was held days ahead of the passing out parade on request of the Vietnamese embassy, said the official.

“The ceremony was held for the three Vietnamese GCs who were currently undergoing training at the academy along with 208 other foreign GCs from 11 friendly foreign nations,” said Lt Col Himani Pant, public relations officer IMA.
