Recommended For Air Force Academy – AFCAT Score 192 Marks

1

Some goals are so worthy that it is glorious even to fail. Hello everyone my name is Pranay Bhagat and I am from Nagpur. I got recommended from AFSB Gandhinagar 26Aug-30Aug batch. It was my 4th attempt. I got to learn a lot from my previous attempts. I prepared well for AFCAT and scored 192 marks. After analysing my previous SSBs, I made the necessary improvements and went for my next SSB. I went to Gandhinagar and I felt elated after seeing such a beautiful campus. Total 175 candidates reported. First day, I did all the OIRs before the time itself. For PPDT observe the picture very carefully for 30 secs. In the picture shown to us, there were 5 males and 2 Females around a table doing something with papers together in a library. Many candidates did not count the characters and mentioned it as a group. I did it the other way, I explained the no. of characters shown and made a good story on Making of a school magazine by including each one in the picture. Total 175 candidates reported on the first day and 50 were screened in.

Next day was Psych test. I did TAT connecting myself with the pictures. Please do not go with the preconceived stories. I would suggest you all to analyse your past performances and look up to your entire life from childhood. Watch your own movie. Analysing your downfalls, happy moments, achievements, difficult times, organised activities, games, hobbies and Interests will help you in bringing originality to your TAT stories. The Idea is to keep it real and optimistic. I attempted all WATs. For WAT write down your own sentences like for eg. When I was not recommended last time I wrote in my Diary “Hope keeps the dreams alive”. This way make your own sentences based on your actions, moods and emotions in a crisp way and note it down in a diary daily. This clearly depicts originality in your sentences and projects your own personality. Then in SRT, I attempted 45 SRTs keeping good quality. I kept it short and crisp. In SRT use materials nearby effectively and give a positive outcome. For SD take honest opinions and write it down in a consolidated form. Practice writing your SD in 15mins. Do add some weaknesses in it as nobody is perfect. If you have major weakness overcome it before the ssb. Also mention how you are tackling with your minor weaknesses. Your Psych test is done. The whole idea is to Develop your personality day by day and projecting it in the best way.

Next is Group Task, for GD watch the show- Big Picture on Rajya sabha tv, read Indian Express, watch Rau’s IAS DNS of The Hindu(youtube). You should also watch Security scan on Rajya Sabha TV. Write down the points like facts with examples. Give logic behind every point. GD topic has three leads, select anyone and be on it. Do not generalise by saying every lead is important. Do not dominate the GD and be polite. For G.P.E use the resources efficiently and especially find the hidden ones. Set priorities well. Convince others with logic to take your point. If you find logic to their point do agree on that as well. That’s how a group works. If you are nominated by the group to give the Group solution, give the group solution not yours. Add every point after listening to everyone. Your grasping power is also checked there. For PGT and HGT motivate your group, give Ideas and Do not break rules. You think GTO hasn’t seen you breaking the rule but remember he is well trained to see that. Individual obstacles can be tackled with basic stamina. Select your priorities of doing obstacle in an efficient way. Do not give up and give your best. For lecturette address the group very well. Do not look here and there. Keep the body posture well and give it with full confidence. In command Task the GTO may pressurise you but do not fall into the trap. You have to lead a team tomorrow so you should be efficient and confident while handling the stress. Then comes the Personal Interview.

ssbinterviewbook

Most important, do not lie in the interview. The IO is well trained to catch you. If your Honesty comes under doubt you will surelly be not recommended. Keep it real. Give examples of life situations to prove your strengths. Like for eg. Instead of saying “I am determined person just give examples of your life events that show you are a determined person. Be cheerful and Happy while giving the interview. Do not sit and talk like a robot. Use facial expressions and smile to connect with the IO. Accept your past mistakes, do not blame others and mention what you have learnt from them. Now Coming towards my performance, After performing very well in all the techniques, In the Conference I was asked about my backup options. I was asked what will I do if I am not recommended this time to which I replied “Mam, I have performed very well in all techniques and gave my best. I am sure I’ll get recommended this time.

oir test and ppdt

If not, I will analyse my mistakes, work on them and come up better. This is the dream which has transformed me to a good individual and I would always want to become better and better each day.” After that it was time for results and the DSO called chest no. 40 and  I went running towards the stage. I couldn’t stop smiling. Only I was recommended in the whole batch. Later the officer gave me some Air force related materials like Diary, posters, Folder etc. I was so happy. It was the best moment of my Life. Finally I did it. That’s where I wrote another sentence – ” Uncomfortability is a good investment to achieve the dreams”. Yes It wasn’t easy. I gave my heart and soul to get what I wanted. One thing that I have always realised in my Life is that If you put all your efforts and take yourself out of the comfort zone, No one can stop you from achieving your goals. Your determination and self confidence will always push you more closer towards your Dream.

I would like to thank My Parents, My Teachers, My Friends and everyone who were part of this beautiful journey. It wouldn’t have been possible without you all. I also thank SSBCRACK for the incessant motivation. I have made it in the merit list also. Finally here are some words for the Young and Talented Defence Aspirants. Dear Defence Aspirants, Remember Failure is the best teacher. Learn from every mistake and put all your hardwork towards achieving what you want in life. Stay away from myths and analyse your mistakes after every attempt. The best thing you can do is to start living like an Officer from today itself. Whenever I used to get deviated from my routine, I used to remember the life of an Officer. This always motivated me in keeping myself in a strict and disciplined routine. And Believe me this way you will start enjoying your Life. You got to believe in yourself and keep working harder until the Goal is achieved.

After all, It is better to die in pursuit of the dreams than to live a life without Hope. Jai Hind!

Recommended For Indian Army AIR -12

0

First of all, I will introduce myself I am Rohit Kumar from CSE stream in Engineering passed out this year in August 2020. I got recommended from SSC-Tech-55 INDIAN ARMY recently. This is my first SSB and it went well and I got recommended. Today we got the merit lIst and my merit no is AIR -12 IN CSE. The day I got recommended and today is the luckiest day for me.

But it’s not an easy path. I have gone through so much. The constant motivation from inside and the available resources on the internet helped me a lot to achieve this. As it was my first attempt, it takes a hell lot of courage to compete with other Candidates, when you have no idea that what is this process all about which takes 5 days to figure out that “YOU HAVE IT IN YOU”….Before appearing for SSB and after SSB, I have given CDS 3 times and AFCAT 3 times, but in none of the attempts, I cleared. I thought one-day Clearing written is not my cup of tea as I have given so many attempts but couldn’t succeed.

But By God’s grace I appeared for SSC tech-55 which is direct shortlisting of candidates based on percentage criteria without written, I made it through. It means sometimes there are things, in which you can’t succeed because the other thing is waiting for you….You Never Know Right.

Coming to the preparations, I have started my preparation, not before some days when my SSB is going to start. I think my preparations have already started earlier when I was preparing for Written Exams.

It is not a one day or one-month thing, you have to induct officer like qualities from day one when you start preparing for your defense exams. I have included workouts in my daily routine. Self Introspection is the key not only for SSB but for overall personality development. One should know their personal strength and weakness along with areas of development. I have done my SWOT(Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) Analysis, through which I got to know my habits and overview about myself.

If you are a little confused about yourself then you can follow this pattern, it worked for me Like what I have done I have informed my friends to tell some good and bad about me with genuine reasons. After collecting all outputs from all friends then I calculated which areas I need to improve, which I need to strengthen more. Trust me This is a very basic way to get to know yourself, But you need Real friends, not liars. You have to be careful while picking up your friend.

I read motivational story always and regular posts of SSBCRACK to get updated about General knowledge. Always remember “THEY ARE LOOKING FOR RIGHT FIT NOT THE BEST FIT”.I want to specifically mention the book ‘Let’s Crack SSB Interview’ by SSBCRACK, it helped me a lot to get aware of the overall process. Always remember one thing Be curious. I always have this curiosity that what is this thing which I don’t know, I immediately google any query I got. Apart from online post and readings

I used to watch a lot of youtube videos there are several channels like SSBCrack and lot of other random channels …..

Coming to SSB, My SSB center Was 17SSB Bangalore, reported on 19th Sep 2020, around 130 reported. After Day-1 screening,32 got screened-in, divided in groups of 6 members each. Day-2 psychological tests and some candidates had their interview too, my interview was on day-3

Day-3 and Day-4 were full of GTO tasks. Day-5 Conference Day/Judgement day-I call it. The result was announced 5 got recommended and my name was there. When I heard my name, my mind was completely blank at that time …I was thinking, is this true …were they calling my name…..That was a very proud moment for me.

Cracked NDA SSB Interview From 4 AFSB Varanasi

0

Hi, Myself Sangeeth Saiju. I completed my class 12 from Sainik school Kazhakootam and had cleared UPSC NDA 1. I had my reporting on 2nd Dec at 4 AFSB Varanasi. 139 reported and 58 were screened. And 11 made it through the SSB. 8 managed to clear CPSS. I would like to thank SSBCrack because of the posts they constantly uploaded that motivated us which added to the self-motivation that every defense aspirant has. I had even used the book published by SSBCrack that explains the procedures in brief. Hope every defense aspirant’s dreams come true.

SSB is a wonderful experience and we get to make a lot of friends. Day 1 screening:139 reported and 58 were screened in. I was screened out for TES entry and had a lot of inhibitions about it. The OIR went really well as it usually does for everyone. Our group did really well in the discussion and 4 were screened in. Day 2: We had our psych test starting at 7:30. I felt that psych test is a test of patience ad it requires a lot of concentration and pace writing. I had my interview scheduled on the same day and it went well. My interview took about 1hr and 15 min.

It differs from person to person. Some interviewers take only 25 min to 30 min to interview a candidate and there is no reason to be disappointed about that. All the questions asked were related to my school life and were personal. And a few gk questions about my hobbies, how I handled difficult situations as a class leader ..etc  Day 3: We were completely free and played badminton and volleyball the whole day. Got to make so many new friends that day. Day 4: We had the GTO activities on the 4th day.

The group obstacle race was avoided due to health safety issues to minimize contact. We had maintained a very healthy relationship within the group. So our gd, GPE went peacefully.  The part of GT that can influence the result is the command task and the discussions. Day 5: We had our conference which lasts for about 2 minutes.  And the results were declared .11 were recommended and 3 were from my group. We had a lot of paperwork to do. Day 6 : The fun part ( The CPSS) The first series of tests are actually advanced level of OIR and we need to pay attention to the briefing given at the beginning and note down some positions of the horizon indicator etc which will help in selecting the right answers for finding the position of the plane. The second part is done in the simulator and is really fun. I would say that it is an advanced video game. A bit difficult but everyone gets one trial attempt and then three tests. 8 out of 11 cleared CPSS.
Overall SSB was fun and now we have a thick friend circle at our stay in AFMC for our medicals.

Recommended From 31 SSB Kapurthala For IMA In My 4th Attempt

0
ssb interview ima

गिरते हैं शहसवार ही मैदान-ए-जंग में, वो तिफ्ल क्या गिरे जो घुटनों के बल चले। HELLO everyone! I’m Vaibhav got recommended from 31 SSB Kapurthala for IMA in my 4th attempt. “LT Vaibhav Sharma here”, that’s how I fantasized to address my parents on call post recommendation, after consecutively 3 times replying ‘Nhi hua’ and eventually the D-Day came on 9th Oct. DSO sir came with the result and I was the only one to get recommended, the first thing which I said to myself YES I’ve it in me, and cried tears of joy.

The journey wasn’t piece of cake for me, as coming from a small town and pure civilian background, you’re already placed at the last in the race. I did best with what I had without worrying about what I didn’t have, as our capabilities are beyond our limitations. I started focusing on myself, my preparation, and refinement.

I was clear about my goal and what I want from my life and didn’t let anything or anyone come b/w me and my goal. Got conference out continuously 3 times but didn’t lose hope, as getting a recommendation became my need in the way as other imp activities of life.

Passion, perseverance, preparation level, focus and commitment are what differentiate non-recommended from recommended. Everyone wants to become a GC by joining the armed forces but nobody wants to be a gentleman first. So gave my best to become what I want and start refining & upgrading myself daily.

ssbinterviewbook

Consistency is the name of the road to improvement. I set daily targets and achieved them at the end of the day, it helped me in gradual improvement. Gave my most, in all the things that I used to do.

On daily basis, started saying to myself- I’m going to get recommended. Wrote it there infront of my study table stored it in my subconscious and was optimistic in my approach towards life.

spot_img

Once you train your subconscious mind, you will be unconsciously driven by that. What I think SSB is a test to test yourself by yourself. It wants to know whom do you see in the mirror when you are in front of the mirror. So keep working on yourself.

For PPDT I made a group and practiced there & for OIR I did booklets of SSBCrack and they proved to be enough.

The psychology test is the trickiest test where many aspirants get trapped. Practice, gaining social experience and a bit of mind acceleration can make the task easier. For TAT I wrote 4 stories on each picture to enhance my imagination and also daily practiced a few WATs & SRTs.

For Interview I precisely prepared every minute detail from my PIQ and what I want to advice is connect with your IO, breath deeply throughout the interview, be specific n clear in your answers & it’s always better to say I don’t know sir, rather than becoming a buffoon there.

oir test and ppdt

For GTO part, I summarized all the current and social issues to have good hold in GD and lecturette and my advice for this part is to develop rapport with your group members, contribute rather than competing and keep your eyes & ears open throughout all the tasks.

Raise your standard, every test in SSB demands an upgraded version of You. Work for the selection and selection will work for you and OLQs are inborn in everyone, you just need to present them.

Why do you want to join Indian Army? There must be a purpose which would be driving you, and when you find it, you’ll discover the driving force which won’t let you to get off the track.

I’ll just say, do it for that IT.. Do you have IT in you??

Jai hind.

Meet Flying Officer Radha Charak Wife Of Airman Who Became Officer in IAF

Flying Officer Radha Charak in the Combined Graduation Parade held at Air Force Academy Hyderabad on Saturday, Tarsem Singh of Jammu could not hold back his tears. It was one of his proudest moments as a father.

“Due to COVID19, we could not go to Hyderabad to attend the function and be with our daughter. Thankfully, it was telecasted live on television,” says Subedar Major Tarsem Singh Charak (Retired), a resident of MeenCharakan, Bari Brahmana, Jammu. He shows a few captures of TV he took when Radha was on the screen.

Twenty-seven years old Radha was part of the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) held with full military splendor to mark the successful completion of Pre-Commissioning Training of Flight Cadets of various branches of IAF, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was the Chief Guest and Reviewing Officer.

ssbinterviewbook

Sub Maj Tarsem shares, “Radha always wanted to join the belt forces. She was to appear in Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Written Exam for the post of Sub Inspector in 2018. However, destiny had other plans. She lost her husband, merely two days prior to her exam.”

Her husband, Buta Singh, a Corporal in the Indian Air Force (IAF) was in Jammu in June 2018 before travelling to Andaman and Nicobar Islands, his next place of posting, when he suffered a heart attack. He died.
“He was the lone son of his parents, and a father to a little over one-year old child then. Both the families – our family and Radha’s in-laws were shattered and broken. More so, looking at the young grieving widow,” he remembers the heart rending experience.

The brave girl, still coping with the loss, decided to follow in the footsteps of her husband and join Indian Air Force, serve the nation like he would have. Donning the uniform will also probably provide solace to aching hearts, she had thought.

A lawyer by profession at Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Janipur, Jammu, she started preparing to join the IAF. Appearing for Services Selection Board as her first attempt barely three months after the tragedy struck, she failed. She worked hard and made it through in her third attempt.

“Radha, a student of Army Public School BD Bari, has been surrounded by people-in-uniform and has lived in military environment since her childhood, which got discipline, patriotism and courage ingrained in her. I knew she could do it. I just kept on motivating her,” the father swells with pride.
