Five Mantras To Clear PPDT in SSB Interview

0
Five Mantras To Clear PPDT

Five Mantras To Clear PPDT: The most horrifying thought nowadays among the defence aspirants have been getting screen-out. It’s really difficult to accept that because no one is given a further chance to show their potential in the psychology, PI, or the GTO rounds as the aspirants might be well prepared for that.

spot_img

But it’s worth preparing for the screening round first rather than other things. So all the preparation should be going together for all the rounds. One must remember that SSB is altogether a different place and have a different taste altogether.

Here things are psychologically assessed, so it’s worth preparing differently by first understanding self and then practicing and working for various rounds. Even at PPDT, there would be three assessors so that there is no scope for mistakes in selecting the right candidates.

oir test and ppdt

The GD is also different which happens after PPDT once everybody writes the story and narrates it individually. One should score well in OIR and write a story reflecting the OLQs showing the assessors that they have the potential to be assessed further in depth in other rounds. The following pointers might help:

  • Observe pictures carefully – People forget to do this and start writing the things they have read somewhere else or someone has asked them to write or taught them. Every personality is different and if you follow others’ personalities success will never be yours.
  • Make a blueprint in mind – Normally things should be made up in mind first in the given 30 seconds and then it should come on paper. Never change the things in between. Be original and live with it.
  • Keep it short with the flow intact – I have been assessing a lot of mentees for their stories and what I see in the majority of the cases is that the flow and the link are missing in most. Different stories cannot be altogether in one story. We only need one story with what led to the thing, what happened and what could be a probable ending.
  • It’s not an English writing competition, but a psychology test – People spend a lot of time in wring good words and beautiful English. It’s not that competition. Even if things are grammatically wrong but psychologically relevant you have the chance to get recommended. Though general mistakes might create a bad impression and hence avoided.
  • Don’t fight while discussing – It’s a discussion to get to a conclusion and not a ground to fight on a certain issue. So discuss, give everyone a chance, and don’t make it a fish market.
OIR Test eBook SSBCrack

How to handle a fish market situation is very important and I would deal with it in a separate article. So try introspecting deeply to know first and then practice else the things might not match and mismatch will not give a recommendation.

The Everest expedition is an unparalleled journey of legendary and epic proportions and requires patience, stamina, mental fortitude, and strong will.

The mercury was between -10 degrees Centigrade to -20 degrees Centigrade in the daytime and dropped further at night. The team faced challenges of acclimatization besides the difficulty of the terrain.

Besides the deadly Khumbu icefall where the ice structure changes continuously, the death zone above 25,000 ft was the biggest challenge as the body could no longer acclimatize to the altitude and the lungs couldn’t get enough oxygen.

Camp IV on the South Col could be established only on May 20, 2022, due to extreme conditions.

It should be noted that India is the second-highest military (1,888) and fifth-highest (139) police-contributing country to the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO). India has been among the largest troop-contributing countries to the U.N. peacekeeping missions. It sent doctors and nurses to Congo in 1960 and then an all-women team to Liberia in 2008. UN Resident Coordinator in India, Shombi Sharp lauded India’s role and said its core democratic ideals and values are a testimony of its capacity.

On the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar today saluted the courage and dedication of the brave men and women who carry out UN Peacekeeping around the world. In a tweet, Dr. Jaishankar remembered the peacekeepers who have made the supreme sacrifice in the cause of peace.

70% aggregate till their 6th semester.
  • TGC: TGC stands for Technical Graduate Course similar to UES entry, candidates in final year and candidates who have passed out can apply for TGC entry. Final cut off mark for TGC could vary from 50% – 75% till 6th semester, this might change as per the respective course.
  • NCC Special entry: Graduate with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in final year are also allowed to apply  provided they have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years of three/four years degree course respectively. Such students will need to secure overall aggregate of minimum 50% marks if selected in interview, failing which their candidature will be CANCELLED. The candidate should have served for minimum two academic years in the senior Division/Wing of NCC and should have obtained minimum of ‘B’ Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC.
  • AEC: Army Education Corps notification comes along with the TGC entry. Minimum percentage required is around 50% as not many candidates apply for this entry. Kindly check the respective notification for the correct details.

The Indian Army Is Likely To Restart Its Recruitment Rallies After 2 Years

The Indian Army is likely to restart its recruitment process after a two-year freeze triggered by Covid-19 restrictions even as a new recruitment policy called “tour of duty” to induct soldiers for short-term service is being finalised, officials familiar with the matter said on Friday, asking not to be named.

While the recruitment schedule is still being worked out, the recruitment rallies are expected to be conducted across the country from August to December, the officials said.

The army was beginning to feel the strain of a manpower crunch stemming from the freeze on recruitment even though officials said the shortage had not blunted the army’s operational readiness and units were performing optimally.

Necessary preparations for recruitment are being made in view of the impending announcement of the new recruitment policy, said one of the officials cited above. The “tour of duty” model envisages the recruitment of personnel below officer (PBOR) rank for four years, including six months of training, the officials said.

These soldiers are likely to be given a severance package running into a few lakhs at the time of their release, it is learnt. Some of them could also be retained in service after the completion of four years of service after another round of screening but those details are not known yet.

Soldiers recruited through the normal process serve for about 20 years before they retire in their late 30s with a pension.

The army is currently short of around 125,000 soldiers in the PBOR cadre, with the deficiency growing at the rate of more than 5,000 men every month. It has an authorised strength of 1.2 million soldiers.

It’s good that the army will be restarting recruitment soon as the shortage of manpower was affecting operational readiness of units, especially those deployed in the forward areas, said former Northern Army commander Lieutenant General DS Hooda (retd). “As far as the “tour of duty” model goes, I feel it needs to be thought through a little more before its implementation,” Hooda added.

The freeze on recruitment was not rolled back by the government despite the Covid situation stabilising and normalcy returning in several areas.

The army conducted up to 100 recruitment rallies every year in the pre-Covid era, with each covering six to eight districts. Before Covid struck, the army recruited 80,572 candidates in 2019-20 and 53,431 candidates in 2018-19. To be sure, the pandemic did not affect the officer intake in the army.

Hundreds of thousands of army aspirants across the country have been demanding that recruitment be restarted at the earliest and that the age eligibility be relaxed by at least two years to accommodate those who have become overage because of the hold on recruitment. Candidates must be between seventeen-and-a-half and 21 years of age to get recruited as general duty soldiers in the army.

The rare freeze on recruitment dashed the hopes of an entire generation of young men across the country for whom army was the only career option, as previously reported by HT.

The officials said with the sustained infusion of technology in the army in the recent years, fewer men are capable of carrying out the same operational tasks now, and several military reforms are underway to improve the army’s tooth-to-tail ratio.

The tooth-to-tail ratio means the number of personnel (tail) required to support a combat soldier (tooth). In 2018, the army said it was looking at cutting more than 150,000 troops over the following five years under an overarching cadre review to sharpen the force’s effectiveness and prepare it for future wars.
