In a significant ceremony held on the last day of April 2024, Lovely Professional University (LPU) celebrated as its Pro-Chancellor, Mrs. Rashmi Mittal, was honored with the honorary rank of Colonel in the National Cadet Corps (NCC). The commendation took place during the distinguished ‘Pipping ceremony’ at the Infantry Mess in New Delhi, marking a landmark moment for the university.

The ceremony featured the presence of Major General Rajiv Chhibber, SM, who alongside Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Rajya Sabha Member and Founder Chancellor of LPU, participated in the ceremony. In a traditional display of honor, Dr. Mittal, accompanied by Maj. Gen. Chhibber and Brigadier IS Bhalla, adorned Mrs. Mittal’s shoulders with the prestigious insignia, officially designating her as Colonel ‘Commandant’ of the University NCC Wing.
