Many serving soldiers are asking us how can they apply for Indian army officer entries. There are three main service entries for Indian army soldiers (Jawan) Hav, Sub etc through which they can apply for SSB interview and join the Indian army as a commissioned officer. In this article, we are going to talk about these three service entries for Indian army soldier, i.e. ACC Entry [Army Cadet College], SCO [Special Commissioned Officer] and PC(SL) Quota.
ACC Entry – Army Cadet College
Adm Instrs. Officers Recruitment through this entry is advertised through the Adm Instrs issued by Rtg Dte to all the Commands approx fifteen months in advance from the date of commencement of the course in the months of Apr and Sep every year.
Two Courses are conducted in a yr in the months of Jan and Jul at ACC Wing, IMA of four yr duration each.
Written Entrance Exam. Written Exam is scheduled to take place on the first working day of the Months of Feb and Aug of the previous yr for Jan and July Courses commencing next yr under the aegis of MT-15(B).
Results of Written Exam is communicated to all Pers/Line Dtes, Comd / Corps/ Div HQs within 60 days of the conduct of exam.

Submission of Application. The procedure for submission of Applications has been clearly explained in the Adm Instrs and same needs to be strictly followed. However, broad details are as under:
- Stage I : Initial Screening of Applications at Unit Level and fwd shortlisted Applications to the respective Records.
- Stage-II : Verification by respective Record Offices.
- Stage-III : Thorough Scrutiny by respective Pers/Line Dtes & fwd to DG Rtg (Service Entry Section).
Time Frame for Submission of Applications. Applications Should reach DG Rtg within 60 days of declaration of written exam results announced by MT-15(b)

SCO – Special Commissioned Officer
Standing Instrs
Officers Recruitment through this entry is advertised through the Standing Instrs issued by MP2/MP Dte vide letter No 08254/SCO/MP-2 dt 21 Apr 04 and amendment issued vide ADG/MP-2 letter even No dated 17 Apr 2006 Addressed to all the Command/Corps HQs, all Records , HQ IMTRAT with a copy to DG Assam Rifles, DG NCC, DGQA, DRDO/R&D Pers-4, MI-20 , GS/SD-1, MT-15 and MS-8.
Two Courses are conducted in a yr in the months of Jan and Jul at OTA Gaya of one yr duration after Eight weeks Comn Skill Capsule at AEC Trg College and Centre, Pachmarhi in the months of Oct and May.

- Stage I : Initial Screening of Applications at Unit Level and fwd shortlisted Applications to the respective Records.

PC (SL) Entry

Officers Recruitment through this entry is advertised through the Standing Instrs issued by MP2/MP Dte vide letter No 08211/PC(SL)/SI/MP-2 dt 17 Jan 2007 and various amendments issued thereafter from time to time till date.
Only One Course is conducted in a yr in the month of Jul at IMA Dehradun of four weeks duration after Eight weeks Comn Skill Capsule at AEC Trg Centre and College, Pachmarhi in the month of May.
