Commodore Sumeet Singh Sodhi, VSM, assumed command as the Commodore Commanding Submarines (West) and Commanding Officer of INS Vajrabahu on 24 December 2024, succeeding Cmde Anurag Srivastava in a grand ceremonial parade held at INS Vajrabahu.

Cmde Sumeet Singh Sodhi, an Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) specialist, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His illustrious career includes:

  • Commanding Submarines and Ships:
    • Former Commanding Officer of INS Sindhuraj, a Kilo-class submarine.
    • Commanded INS Teg, a state-of-the-art guided-missile frigate.
  • Specialized Roles:
    • Served as the Officer-in-Charge (OiC) Submarine Rescue Unit (East), showcasing expertise in submarine safety and rescue operations.
