Indian Navy to Showcase Operational Capabilities with Grand Demonstration at Puri’s Blue Flag Beach on December 4, 2024

The Indian Navy is set to deliver a spectacular Operational Demonstration at Puri’s Blue Flag Beach on December 4, 2024, in celebration of Navy Day. This event not only commemorates the anniversary of Operation Trident, a pivotal naval offensive during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, but also showcases the Navy’s advancements and commitment to safeguarding India’s maritime sovereignty.

Attending the event as the Chief Guest will be the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of Naval Staff, will host the demonstration, which promises to be a remarkable display of naval strength and coordination.

The operational showcase will include more than 15 ships and submarines, complemented by an impressive fleet of over 40 aircraft. Special units such as Marine Commandos (MARCOS) and personnel from the Indian Army will also be part of the event, signifying a joint force effort in national defense. Among the highlights of the demonstration are aerial performances by MiG-29K and Hawk fighter jets, as well as combat exercises executed by MARCOS. Spectators can also look forward to submarine operation demonstrations, amphibious landings, and warship rocket firing.

As dusk falls, the Eastern Naval Command Band will perform the cherished Beating Retreat Ceremony. The evening will culminate in a breathtaking showcase that includes precision drills, along with a captivating drone and laser show.

In preparation for the large attendance expected at the event, both the Indian Navy and the Odisha state government have established comprehensive arrangements to facilitate public access. Advance traffic advisories have been released, along with designated parking locations to ease congestion. Authorities urge visitors to maintain cleanliness on the beach and strictly prohibit the flying of drones, kites, or similar objects to ensure safety during the event.

Rehearsals are currently taking place, which includes naval aircraft conducting flyovers in the Puri area, indicating the Navy’s commitment to delivering a flawless presentation. Additionally, the event is poised to highlight Odisha’s rich maritime heritage, reinforcing its significance as a vital coastal state in India’s history, both ancient and contemporary.
