In a vibrant display of unity and gratitude, Lt Gen Harbinder Singh Vandra, the Chief of Staff at HQ South Western Command, kicked off a spirited 5-km Promo Run at the National Corps Complex near Jaipur. The run, which brought together over 500 participants including army personnel, veterans, and local enthusiasts, aimed to cultivate a sense of appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Indian Army and to advocate for a healthier lifestyle among the community.
This promotional event served as a precursor to the highly anticipated ‘Honour Run’ scheduled for December 8, which aims to honor the valiant soldiers and their families. The first promo run held on October 13 had been well-received, paving the way for this subsequent gathering aimed at building momentum for the main event.
The Honour Run, embracing the poignant theme ‘Ek Daul Veeron Ke Naam,’ is designed to pay tribute to the bravery of soldiers. It will feature various timed race categories, including a 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km race, as well as a non-timed 3 km option, offering an inclusive experience for participants of varying abilities and ambitions.
Colonel Amitabh Sharma, involved in organizing the event, announced that the December 8 run would be officially flagged off by Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who currently serves as the Minister for Industry and Commerce. The upcoming event is expected to be a landmark occasion with participation anticipated from prominent marathon runners, NCC cadets, school children, and thousands of wellness-minded citizens. The Honour Run promises to be not just a race but a heartfelt celebration of valor and community spirit.
